i’ve seen them twice, first was when thy played on the floor in a small ass venue with maybe 30 people and it was INSANE, then when they opened for DAUGHTERS with a crowd of maybe 100 and it went harder but wasn’t as personal and was rushed because they opened the show. still an amazing show no matter what by these guys!

Damn man SMTB came to my town, and after the show I shook hands with the singer, I didn’t say anything. I just nodded, and I could see the look in how’s eyes seemed to be of understanding, as if I was saying “thank you” and he was saying “you got this man.” It’s a moment that I’m glad happened, and that I kind of miss, it’s moments like that which you can’t get back, but which empower you. It means that at heart I am still a SMTB punk.

I saw them in November, 2019 - I was wearing a Marty McFly red vest & stood out from the crowd. Julien came up to me and thanked me for coming to his show.
I think he has an eye (or radar) for randos at his shows. It was the first time someone from a band actually came up to me and thanked me for seeing their band live.
I'll never forget it.

Family, having to make peace with last goodbyes, death and love. The title is madonna rocket, literally sending something up into heaven at which point it explodes. The rocket is no longer there. But the memory of that final blast is still there.
