    The gear cutting was excellent.Not sure about the welded extention,After all that powefull torque will it hold?

    Respect - although this was a better equiped machine shop - it had an electric hoist.

    Wonderful Work, now a days Herringbone teeth Gears are not used but Double Helical Gears are used, which are easy to manufacture and use a Gear Hobbing Machine but this is speciallized and Specific meant for the purpose machine. Thanks for Good Production of Video.

      Does the operator periodically retract the teeth or do they do that on their own to cool themselves

      So far as I know, this kind of milling machine (Herringbone gears shaper) was made until the early 80's. They are very sought after now. See "czcams.com/video/GrVncfKxi3k/video.html"

    Why didn’t they turn the weld area and true the end of the shaft welded on
