I suspect that Suga totally understands English and can speak some but doesn't want anyone to know because they will expect him to speak in English like RM. Suga seems like such an introvert lol. I love them trying to understand and speak English. I don't often watch their lives until after they are uploaded with subtitles though because I just can't understand them and it frustrates me that I can't understand. Would never tell them to speak in English like I have seen so many people on lives do. They are more comfortable speaking their native language and lives are stressful enough for them, I am sure . I am trying to learn Korean so I can understand stuff when they are live but it has been slow going for me. Learning a new language can be difficult if you don't have the natural skill for it. I have been trying for almost 3 years and can only manage to introduce myself, say thank you and hello and know some random words. Music crosses borders but knowing English would definately make it easier for international reach. I live in Canada and tried for 9 years to learn French and still can't speak or understand it. I just don't have a knack for language but I am still trying.
So about Taehyungs friend, he posted videos talking a lot of sh*t about V and BTS. He accused V of getting plastic surgery and how he was a better singer than V. They are no longer friends
Every BTS member has made progress in speaking English all these years❤,especially those who have had more international collaborations and woe betide anyone who says otherwise because English being my 3rd language is not easy to be very fluent in a short time.
Their english has improved a lot but tbh, despite me having a love-hate relationship with subtitles, I find their lack of english completely endearing and adorable. It's actually the other way around--- I want to learn Korean because of how beautiful they communicate in their native language and to get the jokes and wordplay that they (esp Jin) are so good at. haha I can only imagine how much bigger they're gonna get once they become fluent in English. They're pretty good in Japanese and Chinese though. Also, I think SUGA understands and is fluent in English but just doesnt say so. I remember watching his concert in Singapore where he corrected the translator. haha

The other members definitely understand better and their pronunciation is better as well but I feel some members are like shy to speak in English which is something really important to practice but since they have to do a lot of activities in other countries they still have to use English anyways. I feel like the ones who understand better now is definitely Yoongi and Hobi. Seokjin too and idk if it's also bc he used to study on Australia for a couple of months or not, but I've noticed he understands really well since debut and he's the member that have showed us through the years that he can keep an English conversation the best even if his pronounciatiob is not the perfect and is broke English.
