Whats should the small reservoir look like when the car is running, I see the big reservoir cycling coolant but the small one doenst move at all. Is that normal?
I check coolant when car was cold and it was showing just a lil bit under minimum.went to store to pick up coolant.came home left the car off for like 15-20 minutes when I go top it off it shows full but car was still hot. Should I wait again until car is cold again?
I just got a notification for low coolant level , but after I restarted the engine it disappeared? Should I be worried? It is a bmw 1 series f20 b48a engine.
same happened to me with the B48, turned the car on and it notified me coolant was low, later on turned it on again and it didn’t show up, i waited for car to cool down and checked coolant and it was above minimum, so i filled it up and every 4 days it keeps telling me coolant is low and when i check its back to being above minimum yet my car doesn’t have any leaks and it stays above minimum…
The second one is not for a turbo but an intercoller (cools intake air)
Hahah i was even more wrong than that… two tanks are for high and lower pressure coolant circuits.
Thank you I’m putting coolant in my moms car and have never seen bc have never messed with car that had turbo. Big help🙏
Should the same coolant be used to fill the “turbo”? When it says engine coolant low, does that refer to the turbo one as well?
best thing to do is check both, you'll be able to see which or if both are low.
Do not use the same coolant for the engine on the turbos.
I’m pretty sure bmw sells turbo coolant separate from regular engine coolant.

smaller one's for the turbo, turbo coolant is only really running through it as needed and under load/after cars immediately turned off.

Yes wait till cold again

Did it happen on an extreme uphill or downhill? OR did it not come on after turning on on an include or decline?
@@BMWofFW Actually, it only happened on one parking spot, but it was not really decline (maybe slightly), and after restarting engine it disappeared..
Same thing happened to me. Started my car this morning and got the notification

@@latenight30i In my case ot was the waterpump failing/leaking.
Should you mix the coolant with deionized water or distilled water?
distilled if you don't have the premixed coolant.
ICE engine? come on now, no one says that.
ICE… Internal Combustion Engine… since the dawn of hybrids and electrics they were distinguished this way…
