I actually had no idea that this made people "want to peel [their] skin off", I don't feel any "assaults on my senses", I just love the music. It's a really cool vibe that's hard to replicate. And honestly it feels really structured and well thought out, it's not chaotic, it's just loud
Right now, Machine Girl’s style is what I’m trying to emulate in my music. I’ll be very happy once I get something similar. But, let me say this. This video is 100% going to blow up and popularize Machine Girl even more. Mark, no, pin my words when I’m right.

Do you know of any good tutorials on CZcams to find a way to emulate this kind of sound with a DAW. I watch so many break core tutorials but they almost all just show you how to chop up breaks and that’s it they don’t go into making the rest of the song besides just the drum breaks

Jungle tends to focus on repitition more, where as breakcore tends to be a lot more chaotic

Just discovered them through a webcore spotify playlist, first hearing "Cyan Hardcore" and then exploring their other songs. So good! Breakcore, jungle, and dnb are so fun to listen to. So much energy!
The definitely seems to be a lot of jazz fusion inspiration. Ryo Kawasaki and Masayoshi Takanaka led me here. And I have to say that Machine Girl's WLFGRL is high quality.

Going to a machine girl show made me feel old as fuck when i was 25 and 30
i recently went to one of their concerts, and least to say my brain took a least a week to process what it had just experienced... I came in with questions of what genre they truly are, and came out with even MORE questions! There's definitely vocals and rock elements to them, but also screamo... But also kiiind of breakcore, except it gives you an aneurism? But also fucking angry metal? And samples from more modern electronic inspirations?
All I have to say is that it's deathgrips for gay people

machine girl at most times is pretty solidly hardcore breaks (earlier work) and digital hardcore, and very good digital hardcore at that, ...Because I'm Arrogant is probably the #1 digital hardcore album ever. but you won't listen to that one and not be reminded of Atari teenage riot. just thought that was something important you left out.

I love their electronic stuff but honestly I feel like they’re at their best with the hardcore punk and metal aspects of The Ugly Art and U-Void Synthesizer

Besides the Y2K jungle/breakcore influence, I listened to Death Grips and Atari Teenage Riot before listening to Machine Girl and I can hear similarities. MG seemed to get more digital hardcore as time went on, but brought things back to more of an EDM sound for RePorpoised Phantasies and the Neon White OST
Been really digging this new 2020s jungle revival with artists like Machine Girl, Sewerslvt, bye2, Pizza Hotline...
I’m in love with machine girl
I feel like i'm coming at Machine Girl from the opposite side. Everyone talks about WLFGRL and praises it's sound, and a few years ago the album was the first thing i heard from Machine Girl. But i remember not being too fussed on it and moved on after one listen.
Recently i got onto the Ugly Art album and was instantly hooked, also loving U-Void Synthesiser. So naturally i went back to try WLFGRL again but i still don't really like it.
yeah they changed their style a little bit with Im Young arrogant and hate everything you stand for. If you cant like wlfgirl I'd say try that one.

tbh WLFGRL is a very light album tonewise compared to machine girls later stuff. U-Void, The Ugly Art, and "...Because I'm Young Arrogant.. etc. etc." have way more brutal sounding songs than that one, especially the first two i mentioned
