  • Simply by soldering 2 pin then Head Unit will recognize the audio jack is in there.

    Thank you! This worked on my Mazda 2009 w a modification. Shorting the 1st and 2nd lead alone didn't work, I also had to short the 4th and 5th leads. 🙏🏼

    Thank you! On my 2010 CX-9, I had to solder aux jack pins 1, 5, and 6 together. You really helped show how to insert and remove the module - all with one hand!!

      So what do you do? I don’t know what “shut it” means. Do you just solder those two pins together or do you remember the solder?

      My bad English. I mean "to short it". Yes solder the pins together.

    Got a used 2008 Mazda CX-9 - the aux did not work, and the solder technique did the trick! I’ve never soldered anything before and this was east and fast.
    Only thing, is now the menu doesn’t seem to be working on the navigation (not a big deal since I don’t use the car navigation) but I can’t seem to adjust the brightness or access anything in the menu / display. Not sure if this is correlated- but I believe the menu / display was working prior to fixing the aux.

    Thank you!!! After a blown aux 12v socket fuse, my AUX audio port stopped working. Your solution worked like a charm. (Mazda 6 GH 2008)

    • @alphanumeric2702
      @alphanumeric2702 Před 4 lety +1

      And then stopped working again after turning on the engine :-(
      EDIT: It does work after-all BUT there has to be signal coming into the AUX port (ie music playing on your device). As soon as I hit the stop button on the connected device, the car audio system will switch to radio. This was not happening before the hack but it is not really a problem.
      Good news is I can go back to listening to my portable music inside the car :-D

  • @EvasVideos
    @EvasVideos Před 4 lety

    Do you have any idea this happens because the contact to detect that the jack is inserted doesn’t work anymore? And by doing that the system thinks all the time that the jack is inserted? I am asking because i am afraid not to damage anything on the system by using it like this for a long period...Thanks!

    • @alphanumeric2702
      @alphanumeric2702 Před 4 lety +1

      No, this is a sensor for impedance. The system can still detect a disconnected cable and switch back to radio when the cable is disconnected.

    • @EvasVideos
      @EvasVideos Před 4 lety

      Alpha Numeric i already did what this videos says, still doesn’t work...i don’t know what should i do next. It switches to aux but when inaerting the jack in the phone it moves back to radio

    • @alphanumeric2702
      @alphanumeric2702 Před 4 lety +1

      @@EvasVideos Unfortunately my joy did not last for long. I soldered the pins and everything seemed fine, but as soon as I switched on the ignition it went back to FM again refusing to switch to AUX. My next step is to buy a new jack module.
      EDIT: No new module required. The hack works but there has to be signal going into the AUX port (ie music playing on your portable device before pressing the AUX button)

      YoungnLovely100 it’s worth a shot! There’s another video out there for a CX-7 and he solders 2 different metal tips, it it may vary, but you can just put something metal in between and it will have the same affect (to figure out which two to combine)
