What I like about him is the decision making between switching guns and whether to use both. He doesn't look great so far but I like abilities that have risk and skill expression
I feel like in many situations, Mauga's ult feel more like being trapped with the enemy team than trapping them. You really have to do it so carefully that I don't know if it's always worth just using.
I think it’s best to solo ult someone, usually mobile characters because they lose their movement. Like if you solo ult a doom, he’s as good as dead.
Could prevent enemy team from pushing payload or capping objective
Mauga ult + Bastion ult is going to be so epic

My prediction, before S8 they're going to reduce his up-close damage, reduce his falloff so his range stays the same, and buff up his passive because currently it feels like you barely even see whatever overhealth is generated.
high damage falloff is such a wasted opportunity for this character. Increasing his spread at range could be much more interesting for a minigun wielding guy(specially if each gun has a different spread and players start playing around that).
@Booklat1 I'm fine with his current range fighting capability, it's interesting to have a tank who can actually challenge pharmercys with long range and hitscan. I think the slightly lower overall damage is fine as long as you can actually hit what you're aiming at.
I don't think he's a dive tank. He's closer to Ramattra. Poke damage and then punish with close spread. His passive needs to switch from overhealth to temporary armor. His burn barely does anything. His rush and healing ability are actually really strong so those may receive a cool down adjustment. Ult is good but many people are copying the trailer but instead should be trapping single enemies like the enemy tank. That way you can solo beat them while getting healed and they're blocked from getting healed themselves

Mauga has bare bones pre game comments. Only ones I've heard was with bap. Mauga says "just like old times huh bap", bap also will say "are you still mad at me"
True I think when he charges it should reload since your basically diving into enemy territory usually or escaping from a lost fight and you need cover fire.
Twice the size of Hog and takes twice the dmg. Really fun to watch but looks like a nightmare to heal for supports..
He sure is, everyone else seems to love him but as a support main just heals on heals on heals
with his e ability can can sustain himself pretty nicely
@@gwit4051 it has high downtime it sustains him tank v tank for about 7 secs but after that he’s a free pick without a hard pocket

I think Mauga is honestly going to struggle. Tanks biggest weakness is CC and he has zero defense against it.
He is cc immune during his charge so he doesn't really have 0 defense against cc.
@morfosak5289 that's not much of a "defense" though since it can also lead to bad positioning. But, I guess it's better than nothing.
Yup ppl crying he is op because they want to run up and shoot him and die lmao he is pretty weak tbh his biggest draw is his dmg is high but he has almost no healing 2k at most and hardly any mitigation and is a free ult charge with no form of shielding or real dmg mitigation , Ana ruined his life like all other tanks, if they pick Ana kiri Mei common picks he is useless throw in a sym and any tank now and he is useless

Man the OG main tanks are just getting destroyed with the “new” off tank hybrid. Almost every single main tank is outshined now except Winston and that’s only if the team is very coordinated.

And Dva just absorbs all his bullets plus if he tries to ult her she can drop a bomb in his cage
Ana is his biggest counter for sure. Reaper melts him harder than any other tank, and Bastion shreds him too. Dva and Sig are his most difficult tank matchups.
You need a Kiriko and/or Bap if you want to survive, but he works well with Ana, Lucio, and LifeWeaver for good combos. If it’s a Mauga mirror match, having an Ana to nano you in a cage match helps substantially; LifeWeaver can pull you out for good combos and Baps lamp can be placed outside the cage so it doesn’t get destroyed but still gives the immortality effect. If there’s a Sombra, you should swap.
Lot of info, but this is what I’ve been noticing the most. Zenyatta is a great combo with Mauga since Mauga counters tanks pretty well, but he gets melted when discorded. Mauga is probably the most resource dependent hero in the game. But his gun-play makes his skill ceiling incredibly high, so learn to use his guns well according to the pace of the fight and use Cardiac patiently to punish and get aggressive when the timing is right.
She completely counters every hero tbf but yes she will destroy mauga
Why it says hes dps with 650 hp? Isnt he tank with 500hp?
