- Every control on the Sonicake Twiggy Blues is explored in this extensive demo. I'll show you which features are good, which are great and which you need to avoid. All of the tones are unlocked in this video, so join me in exploring this budget all-in-one solution.
If you like these reviews and demos, don't forget to drop me a comment and let me know. By dropping a comment there, you will please the algorithm gods and make my videos more visible, which would be awesome. If you have one of these yourself, let me know how you are getting on with it yourself in a comment or a video response, I'd love to hear how it is getting on in your rig through different amps and guitars.
The demo gear in this video is all run through Practical Patch cables, including instrument cables and patch cables. These are using some top-quality components, including Neutrik jacks and Van Damme cable and are hand-assembled and tested in the UK. After having off-the-shelf cables for years and suffering failures again and again, I bought some Practical Patch cables and have been happier than ever with them. They also don’t cost you the Earth, which some other hand made cable companies seem to do. If you want to find out more, head over to www.practicalpatch.co.uk to see what they have to offer.

Which was your favorite effect? Hit me up in those comments 👍
Cool channel and thanks for trying out these pedals
Cheers. I try show exactly what you're getting with each pedal, warts and all, rather than just cherry picking the best bits. 👍
I can't believe this channel still has less than 1k subscribers! And I'm probably sub number 963. Pretty sure this channel is gonna be big, and I was here before 1k haha! Can you do another pedal review for Caline Pure Sky or Mosky Blue Delay?
Cheers gent, it is getting there little by little and the audience I have got are absolutely fabulous people so I'm very thankful for that. I haven't got the Mosky blue delay and I've already done the pure sky. If there is something you'd like me to cover that I've not already with the caline, let me know and I'll work it into the schedule 👍
EXCELLENT REVIEW. I GOT THE ROCKSTAGE AND TWIGGY BLUES PEDALS, BUT MY FAVORITE ITS TWIGGY BLUE.
It has some great sounds in it, right?
@@BudgetPedalChapDefinitely
I might add a boss Bd2 to the input?
@lioncurlew I could see that working well, giving you a second stage of gain or using the drive in the pedal as a solo boost
@@BudgetPedalChap I will have a try! Thanks 👍
If you've got a little tube amp, this is the thing to use. Was impressed with the reverb, better than Hall of Fame. Try them both, I did, and see what you think. Don't take my word for it.
I could imagine it doing a really good job in front of a tube amp. The advantage that the HOF has is the toneprint, as you can switch out the algorithm for one you prefer, but the verb in this is quite tasty 👍
I did take your word for it lol. I just got one for $10 on ebay- $5 for the pedal and $5 shipping. It got here today.
Nice, not a bad fly rig
Aye, I could gig with it at a push I'm pretty sure
I got one of these about a year ago because I needed a small rig for some small gigs. So just bring one of my Bose L1s (or F1s) a small amp and a couple guitars. I was able to dial in some more than OK tones very quickly. But I couldn't get the compressor to work well when using the Blues effects. WAY too much noise. I tried a bunch of stuff but the Comp just doesn't play well with the other effects. My experience anyway.
That's really interesting. The comp, although simple, has been great on this unit. The only noise I got was when cranking the drive to it's fullest. I'm glad to hear that you got some use out of it and really enjoyed the tones 👍
I just returned a Rock Stage. The reverb sucked. The chorus had a massive volume boost when engaged. The delay wasn't bad, but the "Rock Amp" is weak and thin. I suppose if your were using it as a stand alone pedal it would be better, but it didn't play nice with other drive pedals I had on that pedal board.
Sonic Cake needs to step up their game with these things. I concept is great, but the effects are weak.
Ah man, that sucks. If you like the idea but didn't get on with the FX, try the Mosky SOL918. It seems like a bit more of a refined take on this style of fly rig and has it's own FX loop.
I think that comp is a little sleeper hit
I use with the drive tone all the way full...
Yeah, it lends itself to pushing the tone quite high doesn't it?
Was that Deep Purple's Mistreated in there?
It might well have been... Unless you are from their online copyright team, then no officer 🤣🤣🤣
I have a Sonic-it is a different modle. I think I pais 50.00 it has distortion, delay (Good) & tremelo (O.K.) I would give it 2 1/2 stars out of 4.
Nice one. Not quite good enough to build a pedal board around, but a decent backup. I'll check it out 👍
For a "specially oriented blues players multi effect", a tremolo would have made more sense than a delay .... or a phaser/univibe .... I am still waiting for a kind of "Tech 21 Flyrig", but with reverb/tremolo onboard ....
Yeah, I agree. Either reverb or delay, but not necessarily both as they are both there to create a bit of space in the sound. A good tremolo would really make this unit stand out
Have a look at the Valeton Dapper Indie.
@@bassthing68 it was on my list.... And then I saw the Custom Tones Ethos fusion deluxe : a fender deluxe reverb channel and a Dumble overdrive special channel. My quest is over....
Products like this make me mad that I spent thousands on stompboxes back in the day
It's a nice little convenient solution, huh? It's quite compact too, could easily fit in a gig bag
doesnt sound too inspirational but i mean look at the price
There are some decent tones within it but I know what you mean, they are maybe less refined than others. Bang for your buck is pretty decent though
