Meanwhile there isn’t scrapwood anymore. Post-Covid, walking through a wood store feels like visiting a jewelry 😆 pricewise.

Beginning to realize just how good a purchase these 425’s are. I think I may grab a couple more.

I like the idea Ziggy. Just starting with my own shop and I have three workmates that I’ll use in various fashions that you’re suggesting... including the bench top grinder. This will save me several hundreds of dollars on buying stand alone work stations. Cheers

Hi Phin, good luck with your new shop. I'm glad some of my ideas will help save you money! Look at some other videos on how to make rolling bases for your workmates. I think they are great, although, for me at this time, a rolling base wouldn't be helpful. But when I get a shop instead of working out of a 1/4 of my garage and the driveway, I'll be building one

@@ziggysworkshop8784 Patience is all I can say... I worked In my laundry/utility room for years (too many to count)... only in my retirement was I able to fulfill a long time dream... now need to continue to save where I can until I can do some upgrades so scanning various tips from all over the internet... eventually I'll be able to leave something for my grandkids. 😏

For smaller storage areas could you hinge this jig in the center and fold it when not in use?

    • @ziggysworkshop8784

You could. I though about it. You could use a hinge and many a slide latch to secure it when in the unfolded position

    Really nice.
I do have an irrelevant question about the mitre saw in the video.
I picked up a similar old black and decker mitre saw which works fine but has two problems. 1- the blades keep rotating for sometime after the cut. 2- after some cuts, the circuit breaker trips at startup of mitre saw.
I checked online and the problem could be with the brushes. I want to replace them but not sure how to find these online. Do you know which brushes should work? Or do you think the problem could be with something else?

      Muhammad,
My saw spins after a cut as well. Not sure if older saws have brakes like the new ones.
I don't know what size brushes are in the saw. I believe there will be a number on the brush when you remove it. If not, I suggest looking up a manual for the saw on line or calling Black and Decker. They have very good customer service and should be able to help you
