- Pakistan's Arshad Nadeem stunned the field in the men's javelin final at the Paris Olympics, throwing a personal best of 92.97m. The World Championships silver medalist broke the Olympic record in the event, held by Andreas Thorkildsen's record of 90,57m from 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Dukhi isliye hoon, because I was devastated to see Neeraj 5 attempts gone in vain. I'll be honest, after seeing first failed attempt of Arshad, I was like, yeh toh gaya ab. But I was still hopeful for every athlete and didn't curse any athlete at all. Sadly, my behavior bit us badly, and Neeraj missed 5 attempts ☹️😭😫
92-93 toh mushkil hee tha.
But those 3-4 attempts atleast, would've given us some respite, if not winning sign 🙁☹️😊
