A major was my favorite. I'd say it's my favorite key, all songs sound so beautiful in A major. But all of the different variations you played were gorgeous! Thank you, Cateen, you're so talented and you inspire me to become a better pianist (I've been playing piano for 8 years 😊)! God bless!

@@logicking3765 i thinkdo understand what you are trying to say- competition pianists are very technical and learn to play that one piece of work to a level decided by other trained and like- minded muscicians. He, on the otherhand, knows his instrument and can apply his learned techniques to the instrument, play around with keys and rythms and interpret it without losing the main theme. He plays like a jazz pianist ,who are trained to do it without music and improvise on demand. . Most classically trained musicians cant do it without music in front of them, or have to take time to do. We're taught in music theory but people do Gd 5 theory, but rarely go beyond that.

おおおおお、今まで聴いてきた音楽の中で、最も愕然としたよ。
ピアノ弾く人ならわかると思うけど、ピアノって調が変わると、指使いが全部変わるんで、それだけでも難しいのだけど、それを何の違和感もなく24のすべての調を弾きこなしてる！！
ランランの即興アレンジも驚愕だけども、それをはるかに超えてると思います。
天才の中の天才！！

He is an amazing composer! He composed his on versions of twinkle twinkle and happy birthday! And now this delicious piece of music!
Can't say I fully agree. Let me explain.
I think Lang Lang is better technique wise, but musicality wise, Cateen is better and I'll be honest it's not even close. And if you get really specific, both pianists have their strengths and excel in different things.
With that said I hate it when people treat music as music battle where one musician has to end up at the top. Why can't we just appreciate good music... No need to constantly compare...

We read in music history books that the Appoggiatura that Mozart uses at the beginning of the main theme in A minor is due to the fact that in those times it was FORBIDDEN to start a piece with notes that did not belong to the chord of the main key. But it is also true that at that time Turkey and its traditions were fashionable; it could be that Mozart used the Appoggiatura as a rhythmic expedient as well as screwing up the musical laws and Hayato Sumino expresses this possibility at minute 0:16. Thanks to Him for this modern version of the "Turkish March"... Mozart would have been happy with it...!!
Andreas Staier did this as well 👍 also a brilliant interpretation. Tho not through all keys, which is mindblowing btw.

今自分がパッと浅く言い表すなら、クラシック・ジャズ・ポップスの融合というかジャンルレスな作風で、その根幹は多彩なリズムと旋法とハーモニー、なのかなぁ。

The best virtuoso in the world today imo. The range of his musical genre is staggering which imo separates him from so many others who surely are as adept in the classical world but can’t touch his playfulness in others. Bravo, thanks for sharing.

Mozart? You mean post-Mozart style.
That's why it's called VARIATIONS, right?? Have you heard of the popular variations on piano? They DON'T repeat the theme, it should be obvious. What makes you think that a "variation" is just a repetition of a one theme? Rach variations on Paganini theme, Chopin's variations, Goldberg's variations by Bach, etc.

What a mesmerising, splendid, revolutionary and recomposed work in variation form! I heard Chopin, Schubert, Liszt and Rachmaninoff in different variations, there was moment of ‘Disney, religious and majestic!’ One word of reaction “WOW~~~~~~~~~~~🤩”
