You're onto something. Looking back from our jaded 21-century place, the art produced during the first half of the 20th century seems, well, a sham. But one has to contextualize it to "get it" (and you don't have to like it to get it). People like Picasso were revolutionaries; classically-trained masters who rebelled against everything they'd learned. He once said: "As a child, I could paint like a master and spent the rest of my life trying to paint like a child." Gernika=childlike awesomeness.

That's a fair point hotelmario510 but this video does not claim to be a painting. The object of a cubist painting is to invoke reassembly of the scene in the viewer's mind. This video both enacts that reassembly and even does a further dissection of the scene. It literally(?) puts us in the picture.
Of course, but it still defeats the object of the painting - a cubist painting aims to show all angles of an object or image, so by making it 3D it sort of spoils the effect.
In my opinion you are both right, it's wonderful to see it from this amazing perspective, but in the meantime I don't think Picasso would find it necessary to put it like that...
