I feel, Mandolin Srinivas is not competing with Aruna ji. For a vocal concert violin, mridangam, ghatam are accompaniments. Here with mandolin it is jugalbandhi. You would see Srinivas ji is not performing vistaara of what Aruna ji presented. So there is equal opportunity for both to excel in this own way.
She is one of the beautiful women I have ever seen or heard in my life. Her unique voice never fails to move me every single time I listen to her. And the way Aruna Sairam looks at and listens to the late genius play his mandolin shows her immense respect for him. Such a loss was his, to the Carnatic world. Felt great listening to them perform, although the quality of the recording could have been better.
Great performance, I think kids learning under madam will get nice pinch as she looks very serious but with beautiful articulation of keerthanam makes me little at ease. We miss Sri Srinivas, we miss u. Excellent rendering of natta
Simply wonderful.Two greats on one stage singing and playing one great song. Too unfortune that we have lost Srinivas. Still remember Srinivas,as an young boy who came to US for his First concert!! Still an innocent boy did not even know how to acknowledge the compliments showered on him after each pc. Music world lost a great Mandolin player.
My personal feeling is U Srinivas is not playing role of accompanying musician. He seems to be competing with the Vocalist, Aruna Sairam. Maybe its my imagination but I could see Aruna Ji give him a few cold stares !! :) Om Shanti to Mandolin Srinvas passing away.

Each being masters by themselves it would have been fair to give them their own individual space. I would have enjoyed them better individually as I feel the synchronisation suffered a bit .
In general, wonderful rendering. Aruna seems to over ride causing "Out of Sync". Mandolin performer is at his peak. Despite giving an excellent rendition, he appears calm, humble and pleasant, to eyes and ears. Aruna at times puts up a bit of artificiality and a kind of unwanted over acting, like SivajiGanesan.
I don't wish to comment on the performance of any particular artist. The entire perfarmance opened before me a wonderful world of mezmerising music as a result of the total effect of which l lost myself.
There is no synchronisation. Chaos. But could still listen due to the greatness of sampradaaya music. Personally such duet should be avoided. If done, the vocalist should have upper hand. Further the Shruthi factor also plays a part.
