    Hey Vince! Here you go again saving the day and giving us all the information...even if Milwaukee doesn't print it. Bigger question bro, are you going to do the same submersion test with the charging port closed? I think it's a must! Keep bringing us the info & deals!

    I use their tools and I love the m18 rocket, but for edc I wouldn’t use a cigar light. It’s a nice form factor to strap to a rifle, but for lighting up a personal area to look for something I dropped, or to help me clean or fix something, I use a right angle light I can set up or a compact work light which swivels

    Hello Vince I'm a new subscriber here. After unwrapping this flashlight and inspecting it and going through it's operation or functionality, I observed from the very beginning the little USB symbol on the side of opposite of the button. However, just like you, nowhere did I read or observe within the instructions or on the flashlight itself that I had to rotate the black plastic cover that gives you access to the USB Charging Port. It took me 20 minutes to locate and gain access to the USB Charging Port. 20 minutes of my life I can't get back. Damn you Milwaukee!!!

    I have used many flashlight at my work: from noname chinese up to expensive german LedLenser. Currently I'm using Milwaukee 2113 USB rechargeable pivoting flashlight IP54 rated and I really love it. It is more useful and robust comparing to other I had before.
    P.S. in my opinion, the twisted section of shown flashlight will not fully protect USB-port from water penetration.

  • @cpufrost
    @cpufrost Před 3 lety +4

    I'm a huge flashlight nut, aka flashaholic. :-D
    I have numerous Milwaukee lights. The best thing about their lights is the LED they use. It produces a natural light very close to incandescent with good color rendition. This is especially important for HVAC techs and mechanics that need good CRI for wiring, etc.
    My first LED light was a keychain light, it was amber and this was 1982. Blue LEDs didn't come out until the late 80s and white LEDs 10 years later. And even then those were quite horrible color wise!
    My favorite Milwaukee light is the M18 fuel search/spotlight with the swivel head. Don't let its rating fool you @700 lumens! It throws them on spot mode. Using at night out the window of a work truck people think you work for the power company or law enforcement! I can spot a deer over 200 yards no problem. (observing, NOT hunting! LOL)
    The AAA pen light is nice but seems to eat batteries.
    The USB lights are nice but be sure to keep them charged before a big job.
    My newest one is the swivel head that is both flood and spot with a strong magnet on the back.
    Always look out for them on sale @HD. The last one was $79 and on sale for $49 July 4 weekend!
    I also have lights from O-Light, Nitecore, Surefire, Arc Flashlight, Maglight, Brinkman, Microfire (HID), Fenix, Imalent, Tekna, Streamlight and many others.
    A man can never have too many flashlights and chainsaws! :-D

    hi vince i have a few suggestions for flashlight options. for the price range i think you could try an olight warrior mini which doesnt have a focus ring but has a decent throw. it has long run times and is s good size smaller that those lights you have. id also recommend a lumintop fw3a or fw3t. i dont own those but i do own the wardior mini and i think you would like both as they can reach 1500lms and 2800lm on max for only a few minuts. there sustain can last longer on the lower modes which i think you will enjoy. also try out some lights in nichia219c or sst20 leds for better color rendering as well with higher cri numbers.

There are a ton of 18650, 18350, 21700 etc. cell flashlights out there coming mainly from china that are smaller, cheaper and/or brighter with more options and settings. I will say this there is a huge convenience by being able to go to the big box store and purchase 1,100 lumens. But would you ever consider trying out one of those? they're not the easiest to find online but i think they are well worth it.

    • @jarofaar8618
      @jarofaar8618 Před 3 lety

      Brian F Its a bit more than that. Yeah you have a point but if you search 18650 led flashlight on amazon you don’t get the best options. Also not many know what to look for. When your talking to people who think 100 lumens is a lot, it’s really hard to tel them to ditch the double a batteries and use an 18650. Also I didn’t know 18650s were even in flashlights till the end of 2019 and I didn’t buy my first one till summer of 2020.

    Try the ryobi led spotlight. It doenst timeout and lasts for a couple hours on a 2.5 amp hour battery.

    I died when you dropped it in water without closing the usb port lol.. I recently purchased the 1100lum light and thought the same thing, "Its missing a grommet". but I manage to figure out the twist cap. Anyways the one thing I dislike is the belt clip. Every time I attempt to clip it to my pocket it wants to remove itself from the flash light. I don't normally use the clip so its not a huge deal for me but for others who do it might be.

    @VCG Construction. Thanks Vince for the PSA on these new Milwaukee flashlights. I'd hate to think that Milwaukee has some former Apple people working for them where they think everything is "intuitive" so no explanation is needed or we have to go to a Milwaukee store and have one of their "geniuses" explain the neat features including twisting the cap to close off the USB port. Like you said, we gotta be careful twisting things cause sometimes things break when they're not meant to be twisted. I'm sure you're the first to get this flaw on Milwaukee's radar and I hope Milwaukee gets the word out ASAP.
    Hope you and your family stay safe and well.

    The actual LED "bulb" is guaranteed for life. I love how you don’t have to register products with them. I recently burned up an m18 hammer drill that was 3 years old. They replaced it no questions asked! Milwaukee always for the win!

      @@jaredstone9487 I had zero problems. I looked up authorized drop off facility on their website and took it there. They shipped it to Milwaukee and Milwaukee shipped a brand new one back. No fancy words or anything required.

    So, the only problem is missing information in product manual?

    I figured it out on my own just playing with it. Good info though.

    The cell hone charger adapter for the Milwaukee batteries also does not explain too much either. I thought the ac plug went on top and accidentally took off the power button. Had to unscrew it and put the button back.
