I never used to get barre chords but its just one of those things that if you try enough something will click in your head and you'll suddenly be able to do them. So just practice as a part of a routine. Also try with low gauge strings so it is easier to start or if you cant do that, tune down then progressively tune up until you get to standard tuning
You can you just haven't tried long enough and hard enough, if the skin on your fingers looks normal when your done and you don't feel the bare chord pain you haven't done it long enough, you gotta do it until the pain goes away while your doing it, and do that consistently and 1 months later you'll be playing bare chords along the whole neck, only excuse is missing a finger
Make sure your thumb is pressing hard against the back of the neck ... your thumb should be just above the centre of the width of the neck If you have always hung your thumb over the top of the fretboard ... learnng barre chords is a great way to get rid of this nasty habit!!
Heres how to do it with less bar chords: G is the same shape as in the video. For b, put your first finger on the 2nd fret of the 2nd string and put the rest of your fingers on the 4th fret of the 3rd, 4th and 5th string. That's a B For C, put your 3rd finger on the 3rd fret of the 2nd string, your 2nd finger on the 2nd fret of the 3rd string, and your 1st finger on the 1st fret of the 5th string. That's a C And for C minor, put your first finger on the 3rd fret of the 2nd string, your 3rd finger on the 5th fret of the third string, your 4th finger on the 5th fret of the 4th string, and finally your 2nd finger on the 4th fret of the 5th string. Thats a Cm. Loop these to play the song.
I remember when I just started playing, about 6 months ago, this song seemed impossible at the time but I slowly got better at bar chords every day (working on where is my mind by pixies) this seems so easy now
If you’ve listened to the acoustic version you can notice that there is an embellishment in G major B major and C major barre positions where basically they are flattening the note on D string by whole step and the sharping the note on G by half step it sounds really amazing
The cramps will go away if you just force yourself to play more. In the meantime, adjusting your thumb position on the neck every once in awhile will provide temporary relief.
@@thehermionegrangerrI started on a bad quality guitar too. A guitar doesn’t sound bad because of the quality, it’s because you’re new and have bad technique and that’s totally okay. To have good technique, you have to spend hundreds of hours doing the same things over and over again. Eventually you’ll be able to make even a shitty $100 guitar sound great. Everyone sounds bad at first. Everyone goes nowhere at first. I encourage you to pick the guitar back up, keep trying, and keep reading to learn more. You can do it. Also creep is a bad song to start with lol.
@@thehermionegrangerrtry out some easy tabs for basic songs, like happy birthday and some powerchords, like seven nations army or smells like teen spirit. Powerchords aren’t too hard. Also try learning basic major chord shapes like C major, G major, D major. Barre chords are pretty hard to do so starting out by fingerpicking is a much better route.
Every time I try bar chords my fingers can never spread or just press hard on the strings!! It makes me so mad and I stop playing:( I just wanna play creep
@@Knob-xk9xcBarre chords aren't as difficult as you think and really open up the fretboard once you get them down. Just like with anything else you just have to put in the work to get results.
Would it be more economical to play in in the first position? Like a G Major with a G on 6th, B major on 5th, c major on 5th and c min on 5th? This way you are not going around the full neck, you have easier chord shapes, because you have more room for you fingers, it's easier to play it clean, because the further on the neck you go, the more buzz you'll have, specially without proper intonation and you gotta practice 2 chord shapes instead of one (E and A) while keeping practicing your barre chords, and you will be forced to rest your index finger (by changing position from 6th string to 5th), which will give you a bit more room to get through the whole song.
I mean, it depends on what you're going for. I prefer doing it 6th string bar chords because you get that extra bass, which gives it that heavier tone. I also like to play it with open chords using C, E, F, and Fm, because it still incorporates that extra bass tone besides the C. Playing it the way you're thinking of gives it too much of a lighter tone imo
play other songs with F chords + non-barre chords to first to build up your confidence with barre chords and to practice transitioning barre chords to non-barre chords. This will let you build up finger strength. If you try playing creep like shown in the video, you will run out of finger strength really quickly and that isn't fun. Once you are more confident with F chord, try this tune or other barre chords like B
@@Kenya_Sokdeez35 ...don't you want to play it how it's supposed to sound? Getting your fingers to the chords is half the battle dude. Otherwise you're just playing chords however you want.
