Ok. I'm a 70-year-old white guy who grew up in the 60's, in white suburbia no less, and just not getting R and B. I preferred psychedelia and blowing my mind. Eventually my love of strange and textured sounds led to a love of classical music. Today I stumbled upon Mr Pickett again. I have a confession to make. WTF was I thinking those 50 years ago? Wilson Pickett's excess is of a different variety. From the soul and just a f ing gift to everyone. My belated thanks to you, sir.
Lol, look up Muscle Shoals and the "Swampers". There is a documentary. Most of all the most memorable music of your era came from a small Alabama town to include this song.

What an incredible performance. The energy shared between the band and the audience is pure magic. Btw Footage is from an independence day concert on March 6th, in Accra, Ghana 1971, from the documentary Soul to Soul.

Wilson is very remarkable and all his songs are so lovely ❤💕 my mom and dad used to play his songs every day before there both pay a visit to heaven. Wilson is the greatest of all time I will always play his songs. Have been listening to Wilson's songs since I was born, what about you since when have you been listening to Wilson’s songs?
