The eighth entry in the Mega Man series is very similar to the preceding games, especially its direct predecessor (in light of being the second entry in the franchise released for the PSX, the first being a port of X3). Once again, Mega Man takes on eight Robot Masters and goes on to raid Wily's fortress.
If you're here for the plot, though, you're missing the point - instead enjoy the impossibly fast action and nifty glitch abuse in this run.

@@Phun-Bun Coming from someone who prefers English dubs and actually really likes MM8's voices (aside from Dr. Light), the English castings for Mega Man 11 were so utterly horrible that I immediately switched to Japanese.

As someone who grew up with mega man 8. Thank you for absolutely tearing my favorite game in the series a new one. It brings back so many memories.

The best thing about the Wily Stages is that items automatically refill after you clear one, so you can just mess around with your weapons and you won't suffer any consequences for it

Idk why but this game just hit different.
Longer stages but also laid-back energy compared to the other 7 games at the time. A much more mellow soundtrack contributes to the atmosphere as well.
Sorely underrated entry in the MM series
It's not part of the canon

Excellent game I grew up with, seems made for speed runs looking back.
I've played the entire x series as a kid, and I remember when I played mm8 I thought it had the greatest graphics, there's something about the artstyle of this mega man game specifically....

I'm still waiting for a TAS of the Sega Saturn version of Mega Man 8. I'm surprised no one has done it yet.
Aren’t the versions almost completely identical? I mean there’s a midboss fight against Wood Man in Search Man’s stage, but that’s about the only thing I can see that would matter for a TAS.

I grew up playing the NES Megaman games. By the time this one came out, the voice acting was way too childish for me. Why is a robot named Megaman voiced by a woman, and why do the robot masters sound like morons?
