Today we are boarding the Norwegian Encore for the first time with my parents to ALASKA! We are excited about our second cruise to Alaska as we have high hopes it'll be a better experience for us. The COVID testing and check-in process was so smooth and we got onto the ship quickly! We explored the ship a bit, checking out the laser tag and go-kart track, and gave a quick little room tour of our upgraded balcony cabin. The ship is absolutely beautiful and we were surprised by how great the food is!!

I have missed this style of vlog it is what drew me to your channel in the first place! I know they take longer but they are imho so much better than the scripted ones you've had recently.
The Thingy at the end of the video when you were showing the plugs in the room, is the international outlet (European plug). We always bring a converter with us and convert it to the American plug and we end up with one extra plug every time we cruise… We even bought a kit for our Apple products(computer) that has the different attachments for different countries.. has came in pretty handy many times. Glad you guys liked Encore… We were on the Maiden Transatlantic voyage and brought the Encore to New York from South Hampton and 9 days at sea with not ports allows you to REALLY explore the ship LOL. It’s a beautiful ship for sure!!!

We always get our bottle of champs and take it down to breakfast one day of the cruise that we actually plan on eating in one of the dining rooms and ask for a pitcher of orange juice and use that for mimosas!! Yum!

The Encore is a very special ship - PERFECT, in my opinion, for sailing Alaska. I've sailed to Alaska with both Princess and Norwegian, and I have to say, Norwegian was the best experience by far. I spent so much time in the Observation Lounge it's not even funny. And that race track was TONS of fun. I'm hoping to try Holland America for my next Alaska sailing, but so far, the Norwegian Encore stands out as possibly the BEST ship with which to sail Alaska by far. I stayed in one of their studio cabins for solos, and they made it such a special experience. The studio cabins are located within their very own two-deck enclave, have their own lounge, and we had our very own Cruise Director who organized all solo events. As a solo cruiser, I have to say that Norwegian definitely captured my heart.

Great video. We love NCL. We have sailed with them 6 times, twice on the Gem. All the ships have the little fishies to guide you. I am planning an Alaskan cruise for possibly next fall. Looking forward to more videos of your trip.

Sailing on Encore to Alaska July 2022! Can't wait!! SUbscribed
I got stuck on the Breakaway’s water slide once and I had wait like 5 minutes for someone to let me out. It was the longest 5 minutes ever! Never again! They said lighter people tend to get stuck.
I was suppose to be on the Encore last Year from NYC for her maiden voyage, then the world shut down….looks amazing!
Celebrity used the same screen process in the waiting area when we were on the Apex out of Piraeus. Super efficient!
On our Alaska cruise, the other couple we were with, hubby had 2 different salmon dinners every night! Go Griff!
Norwegian cruise lines just want to keep adding activities like the laser tag that take up a lot of the ship and they charge you extra money for. All the ships want to keep adding venues and dining to charge you extra.
It's been cool watching vlogs from guests. Us pier agents rarely get to go on the ships we greet and check in people for. Hence, it's cool to see vlogs from guests. And even we do go on, we have to be logged on as guests even though the check in people are tge first people you see. We are all locals and quite many if us are college students too.
I hope you enjoy Seattle. If you are here for an extra day, check out the Fremont Troll. Yeah, there's a troll under a bridge. No worries. It's just a sculpture. And also check out the Space Needle. The restaurant on the top is expensive and a bit scary since it uses glass floors.
Anyway, terrific vllog with terrific pace, (speed of clips).

Griff and Alyssa, which was better - the Ovation or the Encore? Looking into doing one or the other next summer. We did the Serenade Aug 23rd Older smaller ship but did 4 ports! Sitka, Icy strait, Juneau and Ketchikan along with cruising Endicott Arm. Also loved your Airbnb right by the Encore pier!
Holy Bananas!! We were on this cruise and I saw Griff taking pictures up the trail in Icy Straits. We flew in from south Florida set up through NCL on Saturday and everything went awesome. I am not a You Tube creator but I have a lot of great video but I need to buy a editing program! Can't wait to see the rest of your videos. If your going to do Alaska, you really need to sail Princess. To get the true Alaska feel. My first cruise was on Norwegian 30 years ago to Caribbean. My 2nd cruise was scheduled 7/4/2020 rebooked July 20, 2021 ( hate u Covid) now scheduled June 19, 2022 San Francisco to Alaska 10 day on Ruby Princess. It will be my wife first time on a cruise and we have a 324 sq foot mini suite :) we had a standard balcony room 270 sq feet but figured this will be our only Alaska cruise so live once :) very expensive
We currently don’t have Princess (or Disney) Alaska cruise money…. 😆 but one day we will do it!
is there anything you wished you had brought that you did not other than waterproof boots? also what side of the ship were you on so you got the best vistas? cabin #?
A nice family trip! How nice is that. And enjoying from balcony!! I was on the Encore Jan. 2020 my 1st NCL ship and I absolutely loved it. Was on CWW group cruise. Normally I would cruise Carnival (And I still enjoy Carnival). Another 1st for me was traveling in the solo cabins (interesting Lol). Did I miss something: even if you are vaccinated do you still have to take a covid test? Only thought for unvaccinated- which is ok, but things change so much. Enjoy Alaska!!
