It's a real joy to me as a huge Keith Urban fan, to know that he's part of a collaborative project with Foy. After hearing Keith perform the Foy Vance song, Burden, I was overwhelmed by the song. Then I got to discover Foy Vance through the online show, Vinyl Supper. That was a remarkable insight into both artists and I was fascinated by the conversation. I felt like I was eavesdropping on a private chat between two interesting guys.
Now hearing Guiding Light, I am really stuck by this music 🎶! I really appreciate all the icon, and legendary artists involved, but I'm especially thrilled about Keith Urban getting to be part of it. So great, thank you for creating this masterpiece 💜
tell you what the last bit 4:57 just shows the range Foy possesses. I like the other singers on this track but none of them have anything on Foy Vance. He's in a league of his own. A mixture of soul, pain and hope.
This is so perfect and soothing! My favorite voices on one song! And Ed and Elton’s voices are so healing to me! Elton’s music is what helped me thru the pandemic and Ed’s music has really helped me deal with my husband’s illness. He was diagnosed with cancer January 2023 (no signs of cancer now, thank God), but is now dealing with radiation side effects. This song is absolutely amazing! Big thank you to Foy Vance for creating and collaborating this masterpiece!

That's a brilliant idea. I really enjoy watching recording artists in the studio putting together their music 🎶. The creative process is fascinating to me. I like the insight I get into the specific artist. I've seen Keith Urban put a few videos like that out and it is amazing to watch him in that space.

Including Elton on this track was an ingenious idea. His voice brings out the feels in the same way Foy’s voice does. Lyrically speaking, this song is simple and yet strong. The melody is the least interesting part to my ears.
My favourite song of Foy’s is definitely off of The Wild Swan record called Ziggy Looked Me in the Eye. Killer piano playing, dynamite lyrics, earth shattering vocal performance, sick drum part, emotive energy throughout. It’s everything I love about music in one recording. Nice lyric construction. Tired FROM the wonder, though--maybe. Just for my taste, the production extras diminished the soulful vocal tone, and the timbre of the lyric--the believable quotient. Made it a "dancing w/the stars" #, more than the prayer it was, in the womb. Good enough little ballad, all the same, to bear up under this critique. 🎉
