L'ha trovata per caso, una sera di quarant'anni fa, passeggiando per le strade di San Mauro. Il suo nome è Maria.
Il papà di Maria è di San Mauro e sua mamma di Accettura, ma la famiglia vive a Londra già da molti anni e torna nei paesi di origine soltanto durante le vacanze estive. Enzo fa sua la filosofia del carpe diem, prepara i bagagli e parte per Londra.
