My wife, my daughter, my son, and I all paid our own college debts. Took a few years, and because we didn't have money, we didn't go on vacation, bought cheap used cars, etc. And now my tax dollars will go to pay for someone else's college bills. What a bunch of crap!! Just not worth living in this country anymore.

Let me get this straight. Borrowed less than 12 thousand and have been paying for ten years. What's wrong with people not paying off 12 grand in over 10 years with a college degree. Very sad, my family will have to pay for this along with all of our legally obligated loan payments. Where is our debt cancelation? I guess add it to the list of wasteful spending.

The government, with taxes. It’s distributing money to pay for something where it would be inefficient for people to pay off themselves. Basically transferring money from wealthier people to people with student loans, but also middle class and lower income, but mostly middle class and wealthy people. Boo hoo poor fucking rich people. If they don’t like it, they can go buy a golden visa and live somewhere else, but they won’t, cause they want to do business in the US.

I also struggled and paid off my own student loans. I’m human enough to be ok to ease the burdens of others if I can.

Please consider that China, India and most 1st world countries recognize the importance of educating the citizens. Look at Intel’s manufacturing plants. Our high tech companies are hiring huge numbers of Chinese, Indian and other countries that prioritize post graduate education. If that doesn’t concern you you’re not paying attention. We’ve got to change our approach to education.

@@Epic-so3ek They aren't "banding together". The government has promised to lend college students whatever tuition is. Colleges have zero incentive to lower tuition, and huge incentives to raise it, when Uncle Sam guarantees they will get whatever they ask for.

This is preferential treatment given to a group of people because they made their choices and have to pay those debts while other Americans such as myself chose to go into the military, get our careers established by serving our country, and then working and continuing our education through our own sweat and tears, it’s not, how we should be treating people that work hard for what they have taking our money and giving it to a bunch of people who only want a freeload on the system. I’m sorry they knew what that debt was going to be and they agreed to it they should have to pay it not, the bill on the American taxpayer because that’s exactly what’s going on. You get veterans affairs benefits. They get student loan repayment. The idea is that the government does things to benefit people. If you don’t make much and really are struggling as much as you claim, you didn’t pay much of this anyway.
