Go Around - Runway closed !! London Heatrow Time-Lapse (HD)

- A Boeing 777 of British Airways aborted a Take-Off. That` s why thwy had to close one of the busiest runways in the world. In the end of this video you can see a Go Around and the following planes swinging over to the parrallel runways. I have never seen something like this before.
This was my first try to do a time-lapse at London Heathrow. I didn` t plan to upload another Time-Lapse video from LHR and the focus of this video is definitly on the go around and the swingover. But why should I delete the footage in front of the go around? The reason for this go around was a rejected takeoff of a British Airways Boeing 777. I hope you like it and thanks for watching.

Hard to believe that's enough separation.
+White Fire (OG) Thought so, myself...
+White Fire (OG) They use time based separation. Super Heavy to Heavy - 5.1NM (135 secs) Heavy to Heavy 3.4NM (90 secs) Heavy to Medium 4.2NM (113 secs)
I cannot imagine what it must be like being the controller handling this final stage. Kudos to them.
dollyknockers actually while the final controller job can be difficult its not the most difficult. At least here in the us it's not... the second most difficult job is the outer arrival fix controllers. Different names/jobs at every airport, but primary job is to take multiple streams of arrivals and put them into one stream. At Chicago center there are 4 arrival fixes those controllers get from 2-4 streams of arrivals each and blend them into one, then the first TRACON controller gets two and as much as 3 of those arrival fixes and blend them into one. Final controller is busy with the timing of turns onto final for maximum m efficiency. He occasionally has a plan from another fix, but the hardest part in my opinion is done by then. The hardest job IMHO is ground control at ORD. total chaos all the time. The only good part is that in a worse case scenario the planes can stop till you figure out what to do. Can't do that when they're flying.
+Efoxx ok
Thank you for that comment! Extremely interesting, loved reading it!
Didn't know any of that, but since I love airplanes it was very cool to read and learn that.
It's a great job. 👍
That was mesmerizing. Like leaves in the wind.
What a perfect catch! So cool to see it. 😀😀😀😀
Who doesn't love the sound of an A320-family plane on 3000ft
awesome ! these airplanes look like nostalgic toys
This time lapse shows a lot that isn't visible at regular speeds. Nice video. Thank you for it. =:)
Beautiful!
Fantastic video! Thanks for sharing it, looked bumpy out there.
That is so COOL! Glad you caught that on camera, I've never seen anything like that.
Fantastic time lapse!

My screen at work is so dirty I didn't even noticed it till you mentioned :D
I love the perspective on this... Like a tilt shift photo. They look like little toys. Looks like NZ1 at 2.14 coming in from LAX.
Good music and good performance. !

That was beautiful. The timelapse is unique and would love to see more. What settings did you use for the timelapse? I would like to try one. Added to a playlist.

so cool
woow awesome video!!
echt stark !
big like really nice video
It is called sidestep yeah.
Great great great job! It's not just plain planespotting, it has something very artistic in it! Keep on!
Awesome! Now do the departures too.
funny to see how the planes go up and down during the final approach.. you wouldn't notice without the timelapse :)
In the states I think it's commonly referred to as sidestepping just fyi! Great video!
Thanks alot :). !!
Very rare, lucky shot
Unglaublich! Einfach nur WOW. Ich glaube die anderen Kommentare sagen alles! ;-)
Einfach wunderbar!
I believe "sidestep" is the correct term. It's actually not used in Europe (in the US I've seen it been done), but I I guess the planes changing runways abandoned ILS approach and went for visual to 27R. So practicly a sidestep but not really :D
"Hey! There's cake in the break room!"
The clouds are a fantastic back drop for the airplanes.
Haha That was a PIA 777 doing the swing over Nice nice. Good stuff bro keept it up !!
Please what is the name of the music and where i can find it on download ? Because in the link of describtion i can't download it ;) thanks you !
What runway were they landing on? Used to live in Chiswick under 27R and could see the gears coming down over our house. Couldn't figure out where you were......Great video, and thanks for posting!
These look pretty birds flying;)
what is the focal length of the camera - looks like a pretty good zoom.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi, nice video. big like. can you tell me please the name of the song... thnx
Where i can download the music please because the link is dead ?
;)
"Side-Step Maneuver ProceduresWhere a side-step procedure is published, aircraft may make an instrument approach to a runwayor airport and then visually maneuver to land on an alternate runway specified in the procedure.Landing minimums to the adjacent runway will be higher than the minimums to the primaryrunway, but will normally be lower than the published circling minimums."
I never knew the planes would swing so much XD
Nice! 1:20 PIA XD
you know this job!
Jets galore!
In the US parlance, that's called a "sidestep." "Bizjet two-four-yankee, cleared ILS 32 Left approach, sidestep 32 Right."
Yes, I did too. Thought it was on my screen.
на ускоренном видео, самолеты выглядят так, как будто их подвесили на невидимые ниточки, очень красиво!
How did you changed the movie to timelapse and how long was the video in real time
Tedious !
great video! :) I was wondering if you knew why the aircraft at 1:30 had to go-around and why all the other planes had to swing-over? :)
Because the runway is closed
Most likely because it was too close to be able to switch to the arrival path for the other runway.
@@_JohnDoe 9 years later... now I know. Thank you! :D
@@F2Aviationerm ackshaully a b772 aborted takeoff and the runway closed!!!! :nerd:
@@trainguy1045realyeahhahaha 10 years later now wow😂 thank you.
me too!
Just shows how much goes into landing an aircraft. You never notice the constant movement of an aircraft on approach.
Why would you use video mode? Using an intervalometer takes up much less memory.
who else had the feeling that he was constantly moving the camera to the left ?
Officially: side steppin'
They do this all the time, e.g. at SFO (28R and 28L)
disneyshop
sometime dulles is like this
btw can someone please explain to me what a swing over is?
Don't close the runway!
Can anybody tell me which background music played in the background pls.?
Hitesh Rathod sounded almost like Harry potter
Lone harvest
When was this runway closed?
What is the meaning of swingover?
I loved 0:38, maybe A340.
Looks like alien space ship lining up
are those airplanes that are about to land.
I think its called Sidestep.
Strange that they had a departing aircraft utilise the landing runway.
Many airports will use a single runway for both take off and landing to maximize efficiency, especially in an airport like Heathrow with only a few runways. While a takeoff lineup is in progress a plane can land and afterwards that plane can takeoff. It also depends on what direction they need to fly in; are they going across Europe or the Atlantic?
Bloody Requiem heathrow only uses a landing runway and deaprture runway, they very rarely mix them, unless in this case the schedule demands that they switch runways from landing to take off and vice versa which makes this video so rare, also airplanes never line up on a runway whilst another is landing, as it is highly dangerous for 2 aircraft to occupy 1 runway, unless a plane has already cleared the path and is safe to do so. It does not matter which way the aircrafts are flying as aircraft are able to turn in mid air..
You are correct, I'm used to monitoring one runway airports so I figured that it was standard in cramped situations. I don't know why I said that about lining up while someone is landing... I must've been half asleep. I tend to say stupid things like that when tired.
02:06 PIA B-777ER i guess
Difficult to see what you are trying to demonstrate here
looking like toys
Who else thought they had a lump of dirt on the bottom left corner of the screen????? :-)
Heathrow is notorious for windshear turbulence on approach vector,s
