Thank you. I got some good info that will definitely help me. I am currently a stylist in a salon and the only braider. I often see styles I want to do, but there is no instruction on how the looks were achieved. Thank you for sharing. Question; do you hot water dip the human hair along with the braid, or do you not? Do you worry about ends coming undone? Thank you again.
Great question!!! I totally was not able to record the dipping process due to my running behind to start my second client for the day
To answer your question, I braid the ends completely past the braiding hair so that all that's left when braiding would be the virgin hair to end off with a curl. If you braid past the braiding hair, it will not unravel.
Dipping the hair:
I used an electric kettle to heat up the water, then i poured out some and added in cool water so that my pot wasn't too hot before dipping the hair. I had my client lay back into my shampoo bowl at my salon, and I lightly poured the water over her braids to help it steam the braids plus curls without ruining the curl pattern. I prefer not to dip the hair into the pot. I feel like it ruins the curls pattern, which is why we sit them back into the shampoo bowl to pour. I'll be sure to this step on video next time for better clarification.
Last, I only use Niarobi foam on my curls once they were dipped and dried with hand towel.
