Congrats on your first year. You are authentic and inspiring. I started my KDP journey in April of 2022 as an experiment after seeing your videos. So far I have published 13 books and just had my first sale. $3.04!!! Proof of concept. I spend one to one and a half days a week working on this experiment and I am having lots of fun. Thank you again for being genuine and honest.

Congrats on the first year and THANK YOU, for sharing it with us! You are 100% right about this being a marathon, doing the research and not comparing it to the others who have made $$$$,😀 This is a learning process. I didn't know about KDP, until Feb, 2022. I launched a couple low content books on Valentine's Day. I am also thinking of a children's book, which is my own short story, plus a few other things. When I make it up to $800, you will hear me yelling from Texas!

My fav one was not comparing my journey to anyone else's. I've been taking care of my disabled husband for the last year and a half and had to quit my full time job when it all occurred. I can only sit down sporadically here and there during the day to work on KDP. Working with interruptions, it's so hard for me to get refocused and restarted. Research and keywords seems to be my biggest struggle. I had a book that was selling fairly well after I had researched it and now this whole last month, nothing. I re researched it again the other day with a free chrome extension that I use and now it's not a good niche. The chrome extension number, is showing half of what it was about 6 months ago. I haven't tried ads yet but I'm hoping to learn. I'm still determined to get this figured out and possibly make a little side income. I love working with Canva and am learning more every day.

Congrats on your first year Kim!! I’ve been at this since 2019, you are right about needing a strategy. I too publish in the childrens niche. My next step is to scale. Currently working on some backend things before I hit publish. Best of luck to you going forward.

Thank you for sharing all the truths on KDP. I have literally just started, first LC book was published last week. I know it takes dedication so I'm in this for the long run. So many ideas going through my head due to your videos and a few others.
I think comparison is the key for many people. You see people making TONS of money and then crickets for others. My goal would be to make at least $5K a month so that's my first big one. haha.
My biggest challenge so far was getting past that darn dimension thing. From here on out I'm doing Bleed only. I hope you continue these videos, especially letting everyone know your progress. I'm rooting for ya! P.S. I bought one of your interiors yesterday. That has definitely helped me out. Can't wait to push submit again.

Hey there! Yeppers they still sell. I would suggest making sure that you amp up the interior design tho and make them really custom. Things like adding prompts or nice quotes will help.

Thanks for the honest review. I think some people give. Afalse dream mentioning you can make 10k publishing these books. Although it's not impossible it's just not that east either
Absolutely! I think this why people are so frustrated with it to be honest....You can definitely make $10k + publishing these books but I think its wise to set realistic expectations before getting into this game. I recommend setting small goals then scaling from there.

I couldn’t agree more on the part about $50k niches. While I like seeing what’s hot, I also know that gazillions of people have already been targeting that niche long before that video comes out.

I just read the link u listed about kdp low content there is a section that says that they will not provide an isbn.. I read further down and it stated if we choose not to have a isbn .. they will place one now that’s a bit confusing.. what are your thoughts!
Hello there! So with publishing low content books things have changed a bit. Amazon does not provide ISBN's for these books anymore. You can still publish them without an ISBN on Amazon but if you want one added to your books, you will have to buy them.
Wish you would have shared the total amount you earned in your first year. Some people find it braggy but when people point out how there are people inflating their numbers it helps to hear more honest and realistic numbers.

Hey there and welcomeeee to the fam. Sooo I currently have around 400 plus books published. I havent made it to the 800 book mark right now. Im actually slowing down publishing a bit to focus on Etsy and other income streams :-) You don’t necessarily need a company name but I would recommend at least having a pen name that you can use to build a brand for your books on KDP.
