It’s a voice box, ya’ll. There was no auto tune. This song definitely rocks. Those were my party days and it was awesome. 🤘🏼
It's called a talkbox
talkbox
Some shit, cuz now your like 50-60.... Seems like yesterday huh?
"no auto tune" is not strictly true for the time period, people would pitch correct stuff, just not digitally, this effect is a Voice box like you say. Just saying its a common misconception that auto tune is only a modern thing, its not
My girl. Must be from my generation. Best of times.
I'm 51 I'm seeing black dudes rocking out to this...I'm fucking crying with joy!!
YES, same!!.
I am 55 and I remember black dudes rocking out to this in the 80s as well.
Me too !!!! For real!!! These are my favorite utube guys!!!!
African Americans are so focused on rap music these days that they forget they created Rock and Roll as well. The African American community should give equal attention to both genres imo.
Black dudes started Rock n Roll but whites stole it like everything else. You think Elvis came up with it in white churches? Chubby Checker, Little Richard and Blues influenced RNR. Just like Hip Hop and now your white daughters/Sons and grandkids are into it.
I'm a middle aged white dude, and I love you guys! It's great to see you guys experience music out of your comfort zone. It just goes to show how we're all the same
Same here, only I am female,😂. Enjoy watching you guys listen to my favorite tunes from my teenage years!!❤❤
Love your reactions to songs I loved growing up!❤❤ I went to Bon Jovi’s New Jersey tour, can’t remember exactly what year, one of my first concerts! I just remember my Dad asking me who the girl was on my shirt, lol! It just was a pic of Jon from the shoulders up!😂
I'm 53...lol
@@2869may not bad for 53 (from ur profile picture)😁
@@mayaashanti4955 and you look pretty good for a cat.
i’m a 13 year old that wasn’t even raised during the 80’s but this makes me unbelievably happy to see more people enjoying true classic rock.
Man me too
Welcome to the Group
@@anotherHelldiverme three !
Same here!
Makes me happy that 13 year olds are listening to good classic rock🤘🏼
OMG! Lmao 🤣😂..
I love you guys... 🔥🎶
Jon Bon Jovi, lead singer, opened a restaurant, great food, prices on the wall, if you can't afford pay what you can, if you can't pay, eat anyway. You can find him in the kitchen many nights doing dishes, good man
I didn’t know about the restaurant. Cool.
Yet he fired Sambora before a tour so he could have a bigger cut of the proceeds
He also volunteers for Habitat for Humanity. In fact, He and Jennifer Warren cut a song together about, called “ Who says you can’t go Home”. A-1 Dude!
@@LN-Lifer I'm not sure why they separated...Richie was going through a lot at that time too...I had heard he missed rehearsals and didn't show up for a show but Idk
His daughter kinda cute too. Is a producer for Bob Kelly’s podcast and a few others.
For real, I never thought I would see 5 brothers singing along to Bon Jovi.... But then again this is one of the best five rock songs ever. 🤔
Man growing up. We had to keep our love for "White music" on stealth. Now at 38, I'm all in with my taste.
@@GangstaStan010 That's so sad. Music is for the soul , for everyone.
Ahaha fr I luv to see it !!! ❤
@@47tooter Why? Because YOU don't like it? That's a personal issue that you've chosen to rectify. I myself enjoy alternative rock.
But also Hip Hop, the blues, reggae, and whatever else I find appealing.
Shit we're all going to die. No need to be bitter.
@@47tooter Oh no. You can give your opinion. I meant I'm still going to listen. Sorry about any mistake.
Hate away fam.
And it’s so great to see young people checking out rockin’ music we oldies grew up with. 😊
bro im 17 and its my favorite band
It makes me so happy to see these young men so genuinely and joyously enjoying the music of my generation.
💯
You guys are hilarious 😂 you all have a good positive attitude. What the world needs.
This feels like a vid that should go viral out of pure cuteness:)
Richie Sambora is using a “voice box” to get that robotic voice sound through his guitar/amp 🔥😎🤘🥰
Peter Frampton used one back in the 70’s in Feel Like We Do
do you mean talk box?
It's called a talkbox but close enough
@@extraSNUFFY show me the way?
@@Jedi-Biggs Talk box
Jon Bon Jovi is a good friend of mine, he loved every song he sang....and he does so much good in this world to this day
lucky
@@alexakl6445 You replied to the wrong person they will never see this
Yes, watching him in interviews, he has always seemed like a very genuine, friendly person and he's a true philanthropist too. Very cool he's your friend!
@@Noah-jv2fl Thanks for letting me know
@Alexa KL64 I showed Jon your comment but @Noah is probably right about the fam not seeing it ❤️
The song was recorded using a talkbox - a device that was connected to Richie Sambora's guitar. The sound from the guitar is fed through a plastic tube into Sambora's mouth. By changing the shape of his mouth, Sambora can alter the sound which is then picked up by a regular microphone.
Loved you guys' enthusiasm for this song in this video. It fueled my own.
Ohhh cool...so much like how people typically use it for voice, HE used it for the guitar...cool.
Ala Frampton?
@@susanjoyce-yq2mg yah.
Yeah, exactly correct, I just didn't want to write all of that, lol & I didn't read the comments before My comment. 😂👍👍
Damn decades and i didnt know that. thought they were just very good at acappella
The bands from the 60's, 70's, 80's and most of the 90's didn't have auto tune, they were actually talented.
Big facts 😃
Wasn't it Cher's Believe that made auto tune popular
@@Mandalaaxo You might be right, but that was almost 1999 or 2000, right?
@@gailbatty1702 yes, I think it was 1999, but I said that without clarifying that I didn't mean it was a thing in the 90s,I was just reflecting that her song was the first huge song with auto tune. Just responding without thinking about context lol.
@@Mandalaaxo I agree that it might have been the first song. I am just wondering if the singers in the past were better or had to be better as there were no real aids like this? Is auto tune a crutch that is used if your voice is average or is everyone using it now. I'm not sure and it probably makes average singers sound better than they really are. Maybe I should try it as I can't hardly sing at all. Lol
I’m a 67 yr old white lady and my 50 yr old sister and we absolutely LOVE you guys! I get as excited as you all do listening to the songs. Lol. We want to send you a song but it’s got to be special! ❤❤❤❤
Why do you have to specify that you are white? Can't whites fit into the black world?
💗💗💗👍🏼🇬🇧
You guys are hysterical!!! I loved watching you rock to an 80's hair band!!!
💯
Bon Jovi Was, And Will ALWAYS BE A ROCK AND ROLL... ICON, LEGEND!!💯🔥🔥🔥🔥
It's called a talkbox. It's a small tube beside the microphone. Peter Frampton made it famous with his song "do you feel like I do"
Thank you. Everyone keeps calling it a "voice box". A "voice box" is in your throat. You should hear what a bass sounds like through one.
I’ve seen both Peter Frampton & Bon Jovi in concert. I’m getting old! ☺️😩😬
Dude in the red shirt is my favorite! Your music knowledge is impressive….and I love your reactions! Rock on 🤘🏼
Agreed! He's also adorable 🙂
Agreed! When I watch his Metallica reactions I can see the songs get into his soul, especially fade to black.
Is his name Brandon? I’m trying to learn all of their names, but yeah, he’s cool. 😎
They are all adorable and fun!
No auto tune back then- just pure talent
I love this song. True talent. No auto tune. Other hits by Bon Jovi, “Bed of Roses”, “Shot Through The Heart” & “It’s My Life”. Another great band, Aerosmith, “I Don’t Want to Miss a Thing”.
Jon Bon Jovi is the nicest guy ever. He's been married to his high school sweetheart forever. He and his wife started a food pantry restaurant in their home State of New Jersey and they serve the people themselves. The band is named after the lead singer.
He does seem like a great guy , Just terrible music and videos.
Oh guys your in for a treat Bon Jovi rocks…. Takes me back to my 20’s those where some great years
Me too it takes me right back to 1987 to make you man those were great days and you couldn't go wrong with any big hair band by the way I had the best big hair LOL
Bon jovis greatest hits is front to back one of the best rock albums idc what anyone says
Y’all some nerds
No auto tune back then. This was their voices live. Its a voice box.
It's called a talk box. It's a guitar effects pedal.
This takes me back to high school. To say I was a fangirl was putting it mildly, saw them Live three times met Jon once and almost passed out. Jon preferred their MV's be composed of Live shots vs staged MV's, brilliant idea and only their first couple songs had non Live videos. You guys get me so pumped 😎
The instrument used to make that sound is called a voice box. Richie Sambora is using
Talk box*
This proves that MUSIC breaks thru all barriers!!!! There is no so called race in music!!!!! I'm a 62 yr old white man. Who LOVED Motown music of the 70's! love seeing you guys get into Bon Jovi!!!!!!!
I am 64....love Motown...HATE the top 40 sissy bands like Bon J.
This song has always been and will always be EPIC!! I agree with what y'all said, it is a very vibe song and you can hear it. The passion in it. Most people have had a time in their lives they can relate to this song and those who haven't one day will. Being down on luck and having the odds stacked against you and you feel like your running on fumes and faith alone. It's a song about just pushing through the hard times cause you can make it. It's a song about hope and it's got an awesome beat. LOVED you guys reaction to it. Definitely dive into some more Bon Jovi.
Thats Richie Sambora🎸 on a "Talk-box" making that sound! Bon Jovi concerts were SO MUCH FUN, SUCH A PARTY!!🎉
No autotune, no BS, just PURE,-RAW-TALENT!
They put on such a GREAT show! And yes, THE HAIR, THE LOOKS, that drove EVERY 80'S GIRL WILLD!! 😍🤘🏻
In the crazy times we are living, seems like we ARE Livin’ on a Prayer! You guys bring a smile to my face. I grew up on Bon Jovi. ❤️
Bon Jovi is still to this day one of my favorite singers. His songs were like anthems to me growing up. No way you can't jam to them 🤷♀️
I remember when this debuted on MTV, it was just what we needed, so uplifting and positive at the time. It was so Amazing and magical.
Jon Bonjovi is a cool cat. Has a couple restaurants in NJ for which he charges for a meal whatever a person could afford.
You guys are always so much fun to watch! Across all ages, and no matter who you are, some music just always lasts! Keep doing this videos, I love you as much as them!
Y’all are too much fun to watch! This takes me back to my big-hair high school days! Great memories and it makes me happy to see young people enjoying this music! 🥰
This reaction just made my night. So fun, thanks gentlemen! I love watching your interactions with each other...a great friendship you all have - take good care of it. 🙂
These guys are awesome. So open minded in appreciation of many different things....and just seem to enjoy life. Love it.
Awesome video!! Love seeing you guys enjoying each other but also, enjoying some of the best 80's music. This song is on my current Playlist!
I love how you guys get into the music so much you don’t even pause to break bars or lyrics down same for the rap reactions. It’s a genuine reaction and we can all tell: love this channel
No auto tune in my day, pure talent only.
Have fun going through the music of the 80s and before.
LIVE performances only guys , there is no other way to get the full impact.
"In my day", haha! 😂 I find myself saying that a lot these days.lol
Great band and great times. Makes me want to go back.🤘🏻
They played 3 shows in Denver on the Slippery When Wet tour. I was at the first 2 shows. I've never seen 75,000 people SO amped. Jon had the crowd in the palm of his hand. It was an AMAZING two nights
You guys are such a vibe!!! I love it. Thank you for making my days brighter ❤
No auto tune, mouth piece for the guitar, Richie Sambora
One of favorite bands as a teenager. Please check out Wanted Dead or Alive and Runaway.
Yes, Wanted Dead or Alive is my fav of tbeirs!

The energy and love for this song is amazing in this video. Love you guys!
I love Bon Jovi, your reactions crack me up I swear lol 😂 I'm from the UK and have just only discovered you guys. You make me laugh so much. I appreciate seeing the younger generations appreciating old school music, whether from the 50's' to the 80's and 90's from all eras.
Have you listened to The Final Count down by Europe? One of the best rock tunes ever IMO. That dudes voice is on another level. Such a big tune.
Love and respect to you all ❤
Best reaction ever to Bon Jovi 🙌🏻, you guys are absolutely wonderful. There are lots of great Bon Jovi songs out there, keep ‘em coming! 😁
I was Lucky enough to get to see this tour back in the day. Their concerts were BIG PARTIES. They never disappointed. You guys reaction cracked me up and made my night. Thank you very much!!

OMG! Y’all had me laughing so hard, listening to you sing along with JBJ., even trying to hit the high notes! Bravo fellas! Love you reactions. ❤
I love watching you guys, amazing energy. Thank you for brightening my day.
I just love y’all. Thanks for making this old lady smile laugh and remember her youth and her passion for all music. ❤️
HEY GUYS!! So glad you did this one! Richie Sambora is using a voice box attached to the mic stand. No auto tune, this is when people had talent! Great groove here. Love y’all! ☮️❤️
I'm from Sayreville NJ, class of '75. A few years behind Bon Jovi; biggest star from then a small town. Love what you guys are doing!!
Awesome to you and yours ENJOYING - brings a SUPER SMILE to many -
Not only are they a great band, but Jon Bon Jovi is a great human being. He actually has a restaurant where people pay what they can to eat there. It’s called Soul Kitchen or something like that. 💕
Fav band ever since 13 years old and FINALLY!!! Got to go to there concert 3 years ago.. BEST ROCK CONCERT EVER!!! Love Bon Jovi..🥁🎸🖤
This is my all-time favorite reaction from you guys!! So funny and definitely brightened my day!! Much love from Texas!!! 🤪
Love watching you young guys discover the great music of my youth that I still listen to today. 55 years old here. 70's & 80's music is the best!!

1986 …. One if my favorite songs (and groups) EVER! This was so fun watching you guys rock out to Bon Jovi! Y’all have good taste in music! :)
Talking about the hair… that’s why so many 80s rock bands are call hair bands.
Great Song Bon Jovi was my very first Concert I went to and it was off this Album Called Slippery When Wet saw them in January 87
You all are having so much fun, im lovin it
..
Watching y'all rock out to this is so awesome! Good music is inspiring regardless of the genre, kudos to y'all for recognizing that!
Everytime I watch one of these reaction videos from young folks, playing the music of my teenage years... I am grateful I lived this time, and was around when this was brand new.. !! I don't care what anyone says, our music way back in the day is so much better than today's music. Head banger from the 80's here.. !!!
Good job guys. Really enjoyed that one. Nice to see your individual personalities start to come into focus. Enjoy your journey.
I freaking love ur reaction to this song. I made them play it at every party & the whole crowd would sing ohhhhhh we livin on a prayer. I'm w/ my guy in red u are a joy & true appreciation of all music.
Thank you guys just watching you I get to relieve my past 1960 on
The music gave the same feelings.
Yall should do more of this band
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣 you brothers were jamming and you all send out such an amazing vibe trust me we need many more like you men 👍
No auto tune !! This was long before auto tune ! These guys got so many big hits !! You are just scratching the surface !! As always love your reaction guys !
As a huge bon jovi fan for 36 years, i love watching these reaction videos!
Love the enthusiasm of the guy in the red shirt! He’s right! One of the greatest rock songs ever. 🔥🔥🔥
The best reaction yet. The energy
This was one of my favorite reaction videos from you guys, simply from the joy and excitement you guys showed. Also, from eeing a song i loved in the 80s getting enjoyed by youngsters. Your joy made me reminisce great times.
Love this reaction!!! 🤩🥳 So fun. Shows that Great music is great music. And universal. The emotion is the best ingredient. Its what’s missing in popular music now..
It's a "voice box" for the guitar....it kinda makes the guitar talk. Notice in the 2nd verse, he references Tommy having to put his "6 string in hock" when he "used to make it talk so tough."
It's great when people open there minds too all music! I ❤❤❤❤❤
I love seeing you guys love the music I grew up on! WE OWN THE MUSIC!!!
The thing I love about your guys's reaction is that when this song comes on, no matter the group of people listening to it. Everyone sings to that chorus
I've always loved Bon Jovi since I was a teenager. Seeing your reaction to this was great. You need to do more Bon Jovi. Here's some for you to check out "You give love a bad name", "Runaway", "Blaze of glory", "Always", "I'll be there for you", " Bed of roses" ,"Wanted dead or alive", "Someday I'll be Saturday night"
Love the genuine reactions from you guys! Can't believe I grew up with this music and never knew what a great time to be alive it was! Really passed I didn't get to go to concerts and buy t shirts
From Philly and Jersey! keep up the great work guys!!
This is a timeless classic👌
Great watching you guys all rock out! Glad you enjoyed it! Great song👍👍👍🤙🤙🤙😂
I just found you guys yesterday and I love you. You're a joy to watch. Its wonderful that you all do this, great tunes. Stay beautiful💛💛💛💛💛
Still love this song decades later. I remember getting the 45 when I was a kid with this song and Wild In The Streets on the other side. Bon Jovi has other great hits like You Give Love a Bad Name, Blaze Of Glory, Bed Of Roses, Wanted Dead Or Alive among others :) Enjoyed you guys rockin' out to this :)
These dudes rockin' out to Bon Jovi...........that's beautiful!
I love dat you cats are open to all great music! Rock on on!
Bon Jovi just brings joy. MY MUSIC. Grateful for all the great music of my teen years…the 80s ROCKED!
I was blessed to have grown up in the 80's....Guns N Roses, ACDC, Metallica, Van Halen, and the list goes on forever! They are who brought me here! What a blast we had.... concerts from hell... Fun times, cops didn't mess with us...Good music screaming, going down the streets🔥🔥Oh how I miss those times😪 I enjoyed watching you guys appreciating good music...y'all are 😂
Jon Bon Jovi was definitely my teenage crush. Love Bon Jovi's music and their energy. Proof that not all 80's rockers are into that drug lifestyle.
