The black suit from the comics had white webs. It wasn't until the Ultimate comics when they made the symbiote have black webs, and from there that idea took off. The thing i miss the most is the way Spider-Man would shoot webs overhanded with the black suit. It was the inverse of him normally shooting underhanded with the webshooters.

No you cant. Its one of the last 10-ish suits in the game. You can unlock it before antivenom but youd have to do a crap ton of crimes and tricks to get tobeys suit that early. Holy shit you people need to learn to read.

I did all the sidequests and a lot of the side activities and was nowhere near it (on my 2nd playthrough) but i dont do too many crimes I did get it a few missions before you lose the symbiote though. Last time i didnt get it til after anti venom but i was too excited for the main story to do the side stuff. Saved it all for last.
@@Soulintent95 i did alot of crimes. there’s a glitch where you do tricks and use the spider jump and dash to infinitely gain xp but i only used it for 2 levels because it took too long
The one thing that does sadden me a bit is that, once you get the anti-venom suit, even if you ever switch to any of the black suits, the venom abilities stay white. I wish they turned back to black when you switched.

The classic Black Suit has the white squares on the back of his hands, that's where the 'White Webbing' comes out. It doesn't make sense that he shoots black webs. He doesn't use the symbiote to shoot webs, the symbiote bonded with his DNA and obtained web powers from the radioactive spider that changed Peter.
This has long been phased out of the books & was only a thing in the Symbiote's very first appearances. In adaptations & modern books, when a character bonded with a Symbiote uses webbing or tendrils. It matches the symbie's color.
Would have been neat if the Classic Black Suit shot normal webs and had custom hand animations so that he made a fist to shoot the webs out of the top of his hand like in the comics etc.

I agree, it looks weird. This is something I want them to definitely fix in a future patch. If they're going to put the effort into making the webs black with any of the black suits equipped, why not also allow players to keep it equipped when going in surge mode? Doesn't make sense for me to be wearing a black symbiote suit, mid-combat, & then have the anti-venom suit show up as I turn on surge mode.

If it mattered so much, then why would they even allow players to keep the black symbiote suits in the first place? After all, it was seemingly destroyed in the campaign. If they're gonna allow players to keep the black symbiote suit despite what occurred in the campaign, then I don't see why they can't also allow players to equip the visuals that come along with the black symbiote for roleplay purposes.
Another interesting thing to note, the 4th color option for the Classic Black Suit, where it just has red and blue shading, is based on the classic 90's cartoon, where for some reason they gave that red and blue shading to both spidey in the black suit and Venom.

Bully Maguire shouldn't use regular webs in this game because Bully Maguire does use symbiote webs in the movie. You can see on one of the movie posters for Spider-Man 3 that his webbing is black.
Fun fact. Venom actually didn’t posses the ability to shoot webs on his own. He gained that ability when he fused with Spider-Man. And once he learned it then he started using webs

What's really weird is Tobey's suit gets the spider arms for the traversal abilities but self heals (doesn't take suit damage) like the symbiote. It's like they made it 50/50 symbiote and normal
The reason the organic webbing was white in the 3rd film is because Tobey Maguire's spider man already had organic webs, so the symbiote just moved away from the web holes on his wrist.

The alt colors for this costume are awesome as well because one is from spiderman TAS where it's actually dark blue and has a light blue outline to hide it and another has Venom's red and blue outline from the same show.
I’m actually pissed that the Black Raimi suit isn’t recognized as a black suit. Insomniac clearly meant to make each of Peter’s symbiote costumes use the tendrils instead of the spider arms, have black webbing, and change the HUD to blue (except Anti-Venom), but the Black Raimi suit is the only one that isn’t so he doesn’t use the tendrils when Air Dashing/Jumping and his HUD is orange instead of blue. If you’re going to have a theme, stick with it, don’t make this the one outlier for no reason.
another cool detail is when swinging with the black suit the webs come out much more rapidly and thicker whereas the the traditional suits webs come out way more smooth and thinner
What bugs me about this is the thwipping sound, it's the same as the mechanical web shooters. It would've been even better if they made a different sound for the symbiote suits

If you manage to unlock the comic black suit early enough via mining XP, you’ll be able to play through most of the game with this costume but in the CG cutscenes, Peter will still have to pull his mask off his head instead of having the symbiote automatically do so on its own. So it’s not a true symbiote costume. Also another cool feature is that’s it’s the only suit in the game that does not take battle damage
The classic suit’s webs would still be white because of the white patches on his hands that release the webs and the black webs don’t actually make any sense because Peter’s webs are still from his web shooters and use web fluid, seen multiple times throughout the game.
I’m _more_ impressed that they DIDN’T give Bully Maguire the black webs because if I programmed the game, that’s what I would have done. But what about Miles’ dark-age suit or whatever it’s called?
Actually, Tobey's representation of Peter Parker didn't need web shooters at all, he had organic web from the get to and all Venom did was increase his aggressive tendencies and amplified his spider powers
The original black suit gave Peter organic white webbing he shot out of the top of his hands as opposed to under the wrist. Venom also had organic white webbing but I never see anyone adapt that anymore.
I just finished playing last night, the game is absolutely beautiful! The detail in it is insane even just the little things. So many cliff hangers that I can’t wait to figure out in the 3rd game

I love the classic black suit. This game was the ultimate combination of every previous Spider-Man game- Web of Shadows, Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time, Spider-Man 3, Amazing Spider-Man 2, even plug and play Spider-Man lol.
Toby's spider-man already had organic webs, at the time it was true to the comics. They Reimi symbiote just increased the strength and range of the webs, while also boosting his power and anger.

Fun fact. Venom actually didn’t posses the ability to shoot webs on his own. He gained that ability when he fused with Spider-Man. And once he learned it then he started using webs

It didn't give him organic webs, he already had them.
They should have also added the white "top of hand" squares the symbiote webs came from in the show and the ability to shoot one out of the spider itself on his back.
Maguires version of spiderman never had a web capacity problem so the suit didn’t have to compensate for it
My thing about these spidy games is that considering Spidermans actual strength. If he'd actually punched someone in the head, even big muscle dudes, they wouldn't have a head left.

Still should have the ability to use tendrils for traversal web dash and web jump, kinda takes me out of the experience seeing robot arms come out of raimi suits
What's really weird is Tobey's suit gets the spider arms for the traversal abilities but self heals (doesn't take suit damage) like the symbiote. It's like they made it 50/50 symbiote and normal
Correction it basically gave Peter a stat boost on all physical abilities and his spider sense but he’s always had organic webs in the rami movies
The reason the organic webbing was white in the 3rd film is because Tobey Maguire's spider man already had organic webs, so the symbiote just moved away from the web holes on his wrist.
Man, I wish we got more unique suits like this for Peter instead of the *12 MOVIE SUITS* we got instead
I don’t see why black raimi suit doesn’t have an option to add the rest of the symbiote animations and black webs. It kinda kills the symbiote vibe when I’m trying to use raimi black suit
What doesn’t make sense is that your webshooters can still get EMP-ed even though you’re wearing a living suit with its own webs…
The alt colors for this costume are awesome as well because one is from spiderman TAS where it's actually dark blue and has a light blue outline to hide it and another has Venom's red and blue outline from the same show.
I’m actually pissed that the Black Raimi suit isn’t recognized as a black suit.
Insomniac clearly meant to make each of Peter’s symbiote costumes use the tendrils instead of the spider arms, have black webbing, and change the HUD to blue (except Anti-Venom), but the Black Raimi suit is the only one that isn’t so he doesn’t use the tendrils when Air Dashing/Jumping and his HUD is orange instead of blue.
If you’re going to have a theme, stick with it, don’t make this the one outlier for no reason.
I wish they made the black suit shoot webs on top of their wrist instead of the classic coming out of their wrist

I think Tobey used his own webbing is the more likely explanation.
If you notice in Spider-Man 3, Peter doesn’t have the black web but Venom does use black web since he can’t produce his own organic web
another cool detail is when swinging with the black suit the webs come out much more rapidly and thicker whereas the the traditional suits webs come out way more smooth and thinner
i love how the webs are individual when they shoot out but then they come together to form a big string
What bugs me about this is the thwipping sound, it's the same as the mechanical web shooters. It would've been even better if they made a different sound for the symbiote suits

The comic version of the black suit should have also had regular webbings instead of black webbing if they really wanted to be accurate.
In the comics the black suit did produce its own webs, but they were regular white, not black. Venom too has white webs.

I love the “classic” suit because there’s a variant that has blue and red highlights like the suit from the animated series.
If you do side missions as the symbiote spiderman, his voice responses change too.

Idk how many other people noticed but in the game, Spider-mans' web-lines don't currently change to match the suit.
Because there's one scene in the game where his web shooters are offline while he's fighting against one of craven's hunters at the church trying to get the serum to cure Dr Connors
If you manage to unlock the comic black suit early enough via mining XP, you’ll be able to play through most of the game with this costume but in the CG cutscenes, Peter will still have to pull his mask off his head instead of having the symbiote automatically do so on its own. So it’s not a true symbiote costume.
Also another cool feature is that’s it’s the only suit in the game that does not take battle damage

The Raimi Spiderman had organic webbing regardless. That's why the suit doesn't have black webs.
Toby already had Organic webs. The suit just gave him everything else that comes with having the venom suit.
The classic suit’s webs would still be white because of the white patches on his hands that release the webs and the black webs don’t actually make any sense because Peter’s webs are still from his web shooters and use web fluid, seen multiple times throughout the game.
To be fair the Og suit technically should have the original webbing as well
The classic black suit should shoot white webs. It wasnt TECHNICALLY a symbiote suit when it was first introduced.
I hate how sometimes it automatically changed your suit to the black one in some cutscenes.
Less a hidden detail, more just an issue with the Raimi suit not being treated as a symbiote suit.

In the 90’s animated series. The black suit shot white webs also. Even Eddie Brock as venom shot white webs.
Actually, Tobey's representation of Peter Parker didn't need web shooters at all, he had organic web from the get to and all Venom did was increase his aggressive tendencies and amplified his spider powers
The original black suit gave Peter organic white webbing he shot out of the top of his hands as opposed to under the wrist. Venom also had organic white webbing but I never see anyone adapt that anymore.
I just finished playing last night, the game is absolutely beautiful! The detail in it is insane even just the little things. So many cliff hangers that I can’t wait to figure out in the 3rd game

I love the classic black suit. This game was the ultimate combination of every previous Spider-Man game- Web of Shadows, Shattered Dimensions, Edge of Time, Spider-Man 3, Amazing Spider-Man 2, even plug and play Spider-Man lol.
Toby's spider-man already had organic webs, at the time it was true to the comics. They Reimi symbiote just increased the strength and range of the webs, while also boosting his power and anger.
The symbiote suit didn't give Tobey Maguires Spiderman organic webbing, he had it in the first 2 movies before getting the black suit
another thing to add about the white and the black webs is that the white webs are always one strand and comes out straight as the black webs come out as tendrils that then twist together to form a web line
