First and the foremost most of us do not have proper records which are basic. Date of Birth, name spelling, address and parents names. If these are set right, in future we may not come across such problems.
Each and every one should have a portable mobile number and an e mail id.
Finally we should have nominees for all types of asset classes. in addition we should have one will which can be modified at any time.
If these are in order, most of the problems, court cases will vanish.
As regards past, it will be tedious process and may take a decade plus for solving.
Still some unclaimed assets will be there which can be transferred to a separate fund with GOI from where claims can be made.
