What a wonderful trip. A dream come true, a small airline, great service, friendly staff, modern fleet, small and easy airport plus a breathtaking scenery!

this Vienna airport looks better than those Paris CDG airport. Also, i was happy to see Adria Airways plane in this airport, i always fly with those guys from LJ airport to CDG 😄

They now operate the worlds shortest international flight from Altenrhein to Friedrichshafen over Lake Constance which takes about 8 minutes. Are you planning to fly that route as well? :)
I was going to say. That isn't true. It is Papa Westray to Westray in Scotland which takes 49 seconds on a great day. But it is international. Rest in Peace for not being noticed Scotland.
Victor Weinberger well in one case it wasn't just 8 minutes. The plane started in friedrichshafen but they couldn't just land in altenrhein because of some military thing happend on the runway, so the plane flew some circles over the lake of constance and finally landed with a delay of nearly 2 hours (1:40h) in altenrhein ;)
We have a similar airline here in Denmark. It's called "Alsie Express". They have two ATR 72s (one is in a "luxury" configuration with only 48 seats) and operate one route, Sønderborg-Copenhagen. They were created when the old family driven airline Cimber (based in Sønderborg and operated mainly domestic flights from Copenhagen) went bankcrupt and Sønderborg lost their link to Copenhagen. They only use one aircraft for their route and as their livery is completely black, it's known as "the black widow" by spotters in Copenhagen :D
Hey,I love this kind of video.Dont stop making these kind of video cause most of people are enjoying it.Reasons why people love these kind of videos because its simple, its not like other youtuber who likes to talks much and they are very annoying. But you,you just make it a right video cause theres nothing less and theres nothing more very very simple..DONT STOP KEEP ON DOIN..YOU JUST GOT A SUBSCRIBER
Hey! :) Thank you so much! :D I will definitely not stop making this videos anytime soon! :) Thank you so much for your kind words, I really love reading such awesome comments! Hope to see another comment from you on one of my videos in the future! :D Thanks again and greetings from Austria!
2 years after this trip report (which is pretty cool, btw), I am surprised that this airline still exists. Their fleet has grown by 100% actually! This route is still in operation, but attempts to start other routes weren't successful so far. So they keep operating as a charter airline, with one regular route.
Wow looks like a great little airline. Lucky for you that there's a bunch of these tiny airlines with great service around the continent. If you want to experience another one then I recommend Air Alsie/Alsie Express. A small Danish carrier that operates just 1 route normally (Copenhagen-Sønderborg (Not too far away from Flensburg)) with 2 ATR72's (with xl legroom) in their fleet.
Danke, ich glaub wir sind einer der ersten die einen Trip Report über die gemacht haben. Peoples fliegt ja nur die eine Strecke, da ist die Auswahl sehr begrenzt. Freut uns sehr das es dir gefallen hat!
i mean, there is nothing on the card saying that we can't take them so why not? and hardly anyone reads them anyway especially if you fly enough you get the hang of things
Actually lots of safety cards say not to "remove from airplane". If theirs an extra in the row, then take one, but if not don't take it. It's actually a safety hazard as well. Every time someone takes the safety card the airline looses money due to reprinting. I collect inflight magazines instead because most airline want you to take them.
How times have changed…when I lived in Switzerland as a child, the only airports with any passenger service to anywhere were Zurich, Geneva, and Basel-Mulhouse. The notion of international passenger service to St. Gallen, of all places, would have had people laughing their heads off.
Sehr gutes Video! ;-)
They actually used to operate the shortest international flight in the world a few years ago! They just continued from Altenrhein to Friedrichshafen in Germany, which is only 20km across the lake, not even 8 minutes of flight time. After 6 months they canceled the route because it was not profitable.
Your welcome! Thanks a lot for watching! :D Wow cool, didn't know that! Austrian Airlines also operated two Airbus A320s which were operated by Finnair before...
They actually operate two Embraer 170 by now. Besides the route to Vienna they also fly to Cologne via Friedrichshafen from Altenrhein. - By the way: Friedrichshafen to Altenrhein is one of the worlds shortest scheduled flights.
You won’t believe, In Philippines, there are much smaller airports than what you already visited. The airport in Siargao is as Tiny as your House. Just a small sneak peak and you can see the gate while checking in
Thank you nice video. I hope people airlines get help from Austrian Airlines or Swiss Airlines, because that plane was almost empty, in this part of town where I live if there's not 78% load factor were trembling. Thank you again jb
People's Viennaline was founded because Austrian Airlines don't want to sink the ticket prices for the route Altenrhein-Vienna. I don't think that AUA want to help People's Viennaline because AUA hate PE
I've been on many Southwest flights that were nearly empty. It happens to all Carriers Seasonally....to fly with a small load factor. Annually speaking, it all averages out. One has to admire a small Carrier such as this one, for Operating Below their Means. Not buying more Aircraft they really can't afford to make "car-payments" on makes perfect sense. RyanAir and Southwest started with (Fleet of 1 and 2)secondhand aircraft originally...........through the(controlling costs and bills) pragmatic philosophy in business, they have grown to be giants.............and very profitable compared to the competition.
This was so cool to see, like, that bus for starters was pretty odd, but cool at the same time, like, I've never seen a bus where you got on from the back, as well as the tiny airport, like, I've flown from small airports before, but not THAT small! :O Also, how did you mount your camera to film this, and what camera did you use? :)
I’ll share a story: When i was around 2 or 3, we were flying from Finland to London. I was too young to remember but my mother says the plane sounded different that day. Around mid-flight, the pilot said there was an emergency and we had to land in Vienna. He never said any reason, just that there was an emergency. We land in Vienna and get on another plane, which is hectic having to transfer all the luggage from one plane to another. After around 1-3 hours we finally land in Heathrow. And that is probably the worst thing that happened to me on a plane.

A snack like that you won't even get on a 5 hour flight from chicago to seattle on united... Domestic flights are so sad in the US

Just perfect, and also very enjoyable food onboard! :D

Okay, good that this is a joke! Vienna is located in Austria not Australia.

Worlds smallest airline travelling to potentially the worlds smallest airport?
No
Hahaha, potentailly! :D
It is actually a kind of airport for short-haul flights like to: Frankfurt, Bern, Zurich like those near airports to Altenrhein
I have airports by me smaller than that
Frankfurt isnt near Altenrhein ;)
They don’t have an airline. They have one jet. You cannot put one jet in a line! If People's ViennaLine is anything, it is an air *dot*.
They recently bought a second plane ;)

but it is also very creepy
@@UU-vn1df omg true
I agree. The sad thing is it’s not sustainable. If a route has low occupancy rates then its unprofitable and this it will be closed down eventually.
The people at Vienna Airport must know you as the crazy rich camera guy xD
Hahahaha, crazy...yes, rich....no, camera guy...yes... :D
Simply Aviation lol how do you pay for all these trips then? :)..lol its the flight reviewer's eternal secret

There really is no greater feeling than arriving at the airport :) Except when you're arriving at the airport to return home :(
That's true, hate to arrive back home...
It's amazing to see this airline being run with only one aircraft! It must be so easy to handle. Is the demand for the flight to Altenrhein very high?
Not to high to Altenrhein but they run profitable.
I love watching small unknown airlines... i don't know, i just like it
