the picture of the fisherman on Williams Fork impacted me the most. It took me on many tangents, learning a lot in the last hour. It was an emotional journey reading about the Green River, reminding me of my maternal grandmother who lived with her husband in the area for many years. the towns mentioned in the tangents, Pinedale, Big Piney, Labarge took me back to precious moments. thanks 40 Historical Files for a trip back in time. it wasn't simpler living.. I have a lot of respect for the men and women who forged paths into the unknown of heat and cold and rattlesnakes and little food, disease and hard work.

Wonderful catalog again. The photo, " Auction and Negro Sales", 1864 in Georgia was jarring. It never occurred to me that these transactions were done in a brick and mortar store, so to speak. Thank you once again!

Jesse James was killed in 1882, age 34. This photo is from the late 1860s, NOT 1892.

The Wild West always interested me very much, so first of all thank you for these pictures. 😊👌
1:41 That wasn't just a building, slaves were sold there....😢
I ❤ the pictures of Annie Oakley and Calamity Jane and all the other famous and infamous people.
I knew most of them from (history) books and movies, but it's nice to see their real pictures.
Even though i feel sorry for the animals....😢
Unfortunately many are still exploited and treated disrespectfully, but i think it was even worse back then.😟
    The added music was fine.👌

Most ppl do not realize that because the first Chinese came to CA to work on the railroads, the, Chinese food there is different than other parts of America. I moved out of CA 20 yrs. ago ,after, being raised there and I miss the Chinese food most of all. It's authentic American Chinese food.

Curious, how do you know if some of the colours are accurate?

USA still today lives by the gun. It hasn’t changed like the Wild West still in some areas . Some of the cops in different states or countries are trigger happy or rough you up. Still very good photos.
