Guys this was right before Barrett’s last (or one of her last) Heathers performances. There’s a good chance she was more sad than uncomfortable. Also performing in front of a few people is different than performing in front of a huge crowd.

ElementheaFall being in a relationship should have nothing to do with your acting. when you act, you aren’t yourself anymore, you are your character and in this sense, his character is insanely in love with Barrett’s character. so even if he does have a girlfriend or s.o., he should be putting that aside and playing JD. Either way he’s not doing that and its just bad acting
This guy looks like he's hard to build chemistry with. I don't know if Barrett what getting really into character or if she was just uncomfortable. Everything I've seen him in so far, he just seems like a solo guy, like he doesn't want to be around people or doesn't want to share a spotlight. I don't know, it's just a view. I'm sure he's kind on the inside, I wouldn't know. I don't like his vowels though, while singing, especially in 'tonight'. Ryan and Barrett had enough practice to match vowels while his seemed really narrow compared to Barrett's open space. But I'm just getting choral here!!! I should stop before I pick out anything else.

@@Jojo-hy8dm actually I envy Barrett so much because if you've seen her singing up close like if you watch one of the studio recordings of mean girls, every time they cut to her belting her throat is so relaxed, like her Adams apple is so low for a belt. She has such amazing technique belting like oh my God. I don't know about her Heather's Days but by the time she gets on mean girls her high notes are definitely healthy. And when she's in the airy light parts of the songs, you can tell she's not forcing anything and that's something I totally struggle with I can't be quiet singing comfortably lol. Maybe one day.

So, I was just listening to the music, and I love it! obviously, and I know and love this story, and the musical, and am very aware of how dark it is, but this time, when I was listening to the song, for some reason it just made me think of a musical version of some teen angst drama Tv show. It feels like if they made a musical episode of the show Clone High, if you know it, this song would be in that episode.

Well I mean it isn't possible now because their run was in like 2013 and they have moved on since then of course. But I do wish that there was one. But hey there are some pretty cool community theatre versions I've seen and the fact that I didn't have an opportunity to see the original really pushed me to search for them. Try it! :)
