I think this song was a guilty pleasure for me, from the very first time i heard it. On one hand "this is the dumbest song ever recorded! Who gave this a green light?" But on the other... i could never forget it... especially considering that i always thought the lyric was "stupid girlfriend", not "spooky girlfriend". Seemed appropriate at the time -some stupid dork singing an appropriately stupid song about a matchingly stupid girlfriend! :)
