Well, all they had to do was simple math:

Thor- Jane
Cap- Peggy
Hawkeye- Laura (But in this case they just thought Clint and Nat were friends, idk)
That leaves Bruce.
MARVEL: 'Hey, Bruce doesn't have a love interest'
ALSO MARVEL: 'Hey, Black Widow doesn't have a love interest'.
LOOK, 2 BIRDS 1 STONE.
This was promoting Age of Ultron. I'm pretty sure we already had trailers out hinting at that romance when this aired. Marvel probably told SNL to put it in the skit
@@KyrenDinh I remember the trailers only had one part of them in it where she gets ready to help him change back to Banner, but since their romance was not hinted in the first, it did not feel felt like a hint in the Ultron trailers. But I remember my friend said sending him this sketch before he saw the movie ruined the surprise that they had a romance. So he hunch from the Ultron trailer he said.

Matt Peters it would actually be interesting since black widow has a abusive and dark history. Also scale of power does not relate to how the movie is going to be. Just look at Thor: The Dark World for example. That movie was pretty forgettable and non-significant and Thor is statistically the most powerful hero in the MCU. Sooo...lesson learned
