actually- _Although this comment is kinda old here and all_ - *BUT I agree with you on this one,mate...* Like..From what I can tell from this series,on top of other things (I mean,no offense-I do like Sean Cullen and his voice work and all,but his portrayal of Mayor-Shelbourne gives me straight Lucius Henious the 7th (from Jimmy Two-shoes,another series He's/He'd voice acted for before back in the day here,Honestly!) Vibes,another character he's voiced in the past but like,*_10 times worse_* and _ol'Lucy the seventh treats his own fcking Son better than Shelbourne here!_ But I can't fault him portraying The Lockwood patriarch though on the other hand,I didn't even recognize him here at first when I saw THAT clip,but Shelbourne? Oh yeah, that's Cullen right here,man...),but the Shelbournes are pretty much fucked up from what I can tell here honestly (Gil's a *_complete,abused-suckup of a kid_* -I'm assuming the kid was probably a -_-SERIOUS _ afterthought,since it says on his CWACOM Fandom (wiki) character page that he was,quote, "Not _wanted by EITHER parent-_- in tbe divorce settlement" his parents had at one point,implying that Mayor Shelbourne -_-PROBABLY married his mother due to avoid some sort of scandal in Town,that and/or either she was also financially loaded and just left him the kid outta spite..-Mom is MIA,for obvious reasons-If I was her and found out he was abusing our child, I'd hop on the next ferry over and literally kick his sleazy,pre-Bruce Campbell sounding smooth talking ass out of his mind,take the kid back and flip him off while doing it...unless Momma Shelbourne was doing something that the working girls of the night (at the Docks) and The Sardine fisherman's wives in town wouldn't allow/want her to do here-_- ,of course..?-Mr.Shelbourne is being Mr.Shelboure-_But in the worst way ever, pre-Bruce Campbell/2009 (the first movie's time era setting/release,as far as I recall,of course),taxing anything that ain't nailed down-AND DON'T GET ME STARTED_ on Grandpa Hector..*ISTG that man got New Jerseyian Crackhead energy,fighting Flint like a demented nutcase (Brother, you're a-what? 50/60-something year old man fighting/scheming against a 15 year old?.. God forbid.)* And his Auntie Missy,on the other hand-she might be a little country and revenge seeking and all,but she seems..kinda okay,just pissed at her brother taking her/credit for her shit,other than her mule an' Thistle farm,she's kinda okay,at least..I think?...) especially that fact that in a later episode where Flint builds a potential future-seeing device and he/his future doesn't show up,which I headcanoned that Gil got sick/later Disowned by his Dad,kicked to the curb back to his mom and probably (from an implication mentioned from someone I follow on Twitter/X here) died after/between the series and the first movie...
Jesus-I can't help it of I either pity/feel bad for or hate the poor kid..But seriously,poor kiddo...
