Good video. I have had a Quattroporte 2 weeks having changed from a Jaguar XF and previously a range of E class Mercedes. I have a 160 miles per day commute to work and have chosen a diesel model which is doing 43mpg so I am very happy with that. Overall your video is a good summary of the advantages and disadvantages of a Maserati Quattroporte. I had intended to get a Ghibli but was tempted to buy the Quattroporte as the cost was similar 👍

Great review. Your English reminds me so much of my Grandmother. She was German, too. And everytime she asked 'what time it is' she would say 'how late is it' (wie spaet). Made me smile. You liked the car but it seems you're not fully convinced.

Apparently, you don't buy a Maserati out of pragmatism and practical expectations, that's what German manufacturers stand for. You buy a Maserati when you don't care about such things as critics' opinion, fuel consumption or perfection, and all you want is to experience that same feeling every time you approach your parking space on a lot: "What a goddamn cool car I drive!"

If you buy the car for your self the interior is more important. If you buy the car to impress others, the exterior is more important. Great review!!

Thank you for a very well balanced review. Even when i do not share your enthusiasm about the Ghibli as it just did not feel luxurious enough to carry the Maserati flag and did not like that big clock dominating the centre of the dashboard.
I have enjoyed watching your video . Thank you

I think the Quattroporte is a good looking car, but I agree with you the rear is a to much Japanese/Chinese style. Maybe they think they're selling more in China :) . Obviously it is an Italian car, it nearly fits 2 persons of 1,90 in a row, even with it's huge length of 5,20+ haha. I am just 1m81 and have never trouble finding a good seating positioning in Italian cars.
I also like the interior very much, they used very nice materials and in this car the colorscheme is awesome, nice job!
For me personally, the car is too big and too heavy. I like driving, and if you like driving, you don't like to much weight and nearly 2 tons is way too much for sporty driving, no matter if you drive a Mercedes, BMW or any other heavy car.
Nice review and bring some nice weather next time :))
    Cheers!

I would go for a Jagaur XJ over this any day. Especially the facelift that's coming very soon. For chauffeuring, the S-Class LWB is unbeatable, but if you are going to drive it, for me, it has to be the XJ.

***** another good honest review. seems like there are a lot of cheap cost cuttings in what should be a very premium package. still not sure about a diesel Maserati, with it's 4 exhausts a growling V8 should be living under the hood :)

My view on the new Maserati is that it just looks like a mix of a Tesla and Mazda. It looks really disappointing to me in comparison to the 2009 and older models, plus they didn't really improve the engine either... what did they really do?

So, the 2013's amazing, frontal and huge growling grille looks like the chipmunk as opposed to the tight-fisted, sleepy eye'd ''squashed'' crappy looking front of the previous gen??

I think the navi shouldn't be a digital one but have a deported command and yes, another visual. The deported command is so much more good for security and is more premium feeling. The visual of navi look like a videogame and that is not good.

I think Maserati is relying on their old Pininferina design that ended with the 2008 GT. All of their cars are now a derivation of that, low tech interior. Maserati better make some big changes or they're done. The MC20's are not doing well. I can buy one right now, used, with almost zero miles. I don't want it.
