Deepak seems like he'd be a great emotional therapy dog with his zen. The episode "Wow of Miaow" has shown that without him, everyone becomes a bundle of nerves and falls apart.

Good question. But consider; this is a world where dogs can live in a house on their own, make their own income, and wander in a hoard of nearly 100 in public without drawing any sort of attention. It’s just a cartoon thing for the sake of a joke, plot or gimmick.
