He’s not settling at just stopping the attack. He’s going to reverse the attack onto the attacker. Force striker and all humans to feel what was just inflicted on all mutants.

Just b4 this clip, ALL mutants (including Mystique) were about to die...Magneto shut down Cerebro with his pwrs. *THEN he opens the door and we get this
I always thought he did that to show off
Why did he have to rearrange Cerebro? Couldn't Mystique just give him the new orders regardless?
As he helped build/engineer cerebro, he knows how to rewire it so that it can find humans instead of mutants. I don't think it would have worked as effectively if it was configured in the original format to find mutants. Also this is an incomplete cerebro so its possible the real cerebro never needed this rearrangement and could be in both modes.

@@terminallove3531 because he drove his mother insane with his powers and she committed suicide. Grief stricken, Stryker decided to weaponize him. A running theme in Xmen is that humanity actually has every reason to fear and even hate mutants....they are inoridinately DANGEROUS...power manifestation can range from harmless to deadly, and from deadly on a local scale to "Who set off the nuke?" and that's before you factor in that level of power warping the psyche of the pubescent mind that manifests it. In some cases (Wither comes to mind) it can even come with a specific HUNGER to consume others. And Wither was a kid that WANTED to be good, but eventually his sanity just collapsed. and there's never really any way to tell by looking what you're going to get.
Nevermind (this is canon, and is actually being indirectly addressed for the first time in decades in the recent AXE *Avengers vs Xmen vs Eternals* storyline), Mutants are a result of Celestials mucking with early human DNA to create three new subspecies of human..Eternals, Deviants, and Latents. Eternals are living gods, Deviants mutate wildly with each new entity, and latants are basicly deciants who START human, but can manifest in any number of ways. and then ther'es a small percentage of unaffected humans that know deep down on a genetic level that they have competition. Meanwhile the Celestials and thier machines guide species on a worldwide level telepathically. in previous confrontations with the Eternals, when the Celestials were actually paying attention, they simply made the Avengers forget why they were confronting the Eternals and peacefully go home to leave them about thier business just by THINKING about it. In the current storyline though, the Celestials as a whole aren't doing that..but the erstatz Progenitor that was created is casually mentally scanning and judging EVERYONE ON THE PLANET simultaneously and seperately. and that's just ONE of them.
So the great irony is, Xavier's and other mutants'spiel about mutants being "natural evolution" is and has always been utter BS, and the belief is likely being FORCED on him.
Genetics is among the most powerful forces in the universe even from our small planet. You see the strength of gorillas, the speed of cheetahs, the stamina and intelligence of humans, the mysterious gifts of snakes, spiders, and other creatures from nature alone. With that power infused into people with their regular anatomy, they are unstoppable. We should praise such development.
@@BlackDiamond2718 which has nothing to do with the "fact" that in this fictional universe, gnatural evolution isn't involved so much as interferance form giant space aliens, messing with people's bodies and minds.

The Avengers and other heroes would mostly fall into the human category. Even if Hulk and Captain America are enhanced humans, they are still human nonetheless. The only ones who wouldn't be affected by Charles's psychic attacks are Thor, Loki, Valkyrie, Korg, Vision, and the Guardians of the Galaxy since they're not mutants nor are they humans. Although, i'm not sure about Star Lord because he is half human and I don't know if his half celestial genes can shield him from Charles.

That’s why Magneto wants Cerebro. Because when combined with a telepath like Xavier, he can commit literal genocide. Xavier can kill all mutants if he wants to using Cerebro

Why didn’t he rescue Charles?

This Cerebro is specifically designed by Striker for Charles to find and kill only mutants, not humans. So, if they want Charles to find humans too, it is necessary to make changes to this Cerebro, and that is precisely what Magneto is doing in this scene.
LOL Magneto gave Jason a shit eating grin!
I don’t understand. Why did Magneto even have to rearrange the metal wall panels? What effect did that have on the use of Cerebro?
In a later scene, Jean talks about how Magneto reversed Cerebro to not target the Mutants, but everyone else (IE, the humans) instead. So, those panels and their placement on the walls of Cerebro must have some effect in amplifying or directing Charles' powers.......
I wish they would have took Jason with them
Magneto is already paranoid with Charles being able to enter his mind at any time.
They didn't really know Jason. But, they needed Jason to be there to persuade Charles to find the humans.
I could never understand the logic. Why didn't they off Striker and Xavier and make things easier for themselves in the first place?
Because if Magneto ever killed Charles, no mutants would ever follow him He would be a pariah. It would most likely be the equivalent of Malcolm X killing Dr.King.

If the thing on Charles's head blocks his telepathy, how doesn't it block Jason from entering his mind?
it doens't block telepathy..only the helmet on MAGNETO'S head does that. the rig on Xavier's head AMPLIFIES telepathy. so if anything it's making him that much more receptive once you get past his normally formidible defences. In the comics, he once used Cerebro to telepathically connect with every mind on earth, human and mutent, to use thier collective mental power to fend off an alien invasion. The effort left him in a coma for months, but it worked. It should also be mentioned that this was back in the days where Xavier was delibrately editing his own mind to repress his baser instincts..and his dark side would pop up and manifest itself as a seperate personality now and again. You've heard of Onslaught, right? that only happened when Xavier's dark side also happened to mix with MAGNETO'S, creating a gestalt entity. but it wasn't the only time something like that happened, and even without magneto's added abilities, he was a handful.
