Considering the last few heroes usually have darker backstories or complicated ones, I like the idea that venture is just a goober doing their own thing. Makes the world a lot more interesting.

I think the worst of all is Illari. She supposedly has a backstory and she seems pretty sad about it, but that's really all I can get for her personality. And idk what any of it has to do with her kit, compared to Venture who digs because they're an archeologist, and who's dorky because they like rocks. It's straightforward and it works.

i was originally not okay with this being so short because of how cool some of the other hero stories are but given their personality they are short, sweet and to the point so knowing that it fits them quite well here.
Also they make up for it with the quality of the animation

Remember in the first OW cinematic where the narrator said *''Overwatch. Soldiers. Scientists. Adventurers. Oddities.''* The character fits perfectly in with the latter two categories
That was a very short animated episode.

Not all heroes need to have a dark or long backstory. Sometimes, there can be heroes who are simply fun, dorky, energetic people whose story is them just doing what they love to do and I think that’s all we need to know about Venture. I can’t wait to play as them in this new season!

I’m trying to picture the version of this where it’s the same length as the “origin story” trailers, with more minimal animation and painterly stills, with the character’s narration being slower-paced to match…and this just fits the character so much better. It feels like we’re due for another CGI trailer or at least something longer given the average length of time between those, but if they aren’t focused so much on Venture I’ll still be satisfied. This does them perfect justice.
Geez, that intro was speedrun through. Nothing will beat the story of the dragon brothers though. If only there was a budget for a movie. Tracer would be your time-scape-goat. 🤫
