Nice video! I happen to own a 2001 z3 with a 2.5i engine. Couldn’t agree more with you, “simply fun to drive car”

The Bond car was the 1.9l i4 and not the 2.8l i6. You can always tell the two apart from the rear quarter panels. The 1.9 is a narrow axle/narrow body, whereas the 2.8 has wider haunches over the rear wheel. I have the 2.3 (99) like in your video. It has the same wider quarter panels that the 2.8 has. Atlanta Blue also :)

I have a 2000 BMW Z3 with the 2.8 engine. Atlanta blue with cloth black top, blue leather seats. Everything you said was true. The sound system is rough, the roof slightly leaks on the right side. But driving it through the mountains in NY with the top down, or the farmlands in Lancaster, PA is a fantastic experience. It was worth every penny.

Beautiful car, I paid a little under 6 grand for mine. 2000 Atlanta Blue with 108,000 miles on it and I have no regrets about it at all. All honestly I probably put in over a grand for parts such as new tires, tie rods, etc but if you can work a wrench you can buy parts and change them out yourself which is another reason I love the car. Summer night , top down, NYC man it’s a feeling.

Very good video. I bought a z3 a few months ago as my daily driver. It’s been amazing. I live in Colorado and it even works well in the SNOW.
The only cons are there is NO SPACE for anything seriously😂. If you are thinking of getting a Z3, DO it.

I just bought one with 200,000 miles on it. Still runs like a top..... For now. Just replacing a few hoses and some sensors. Still a lot of fun. We"ll see if this turns into a triumph or a money pit. Still love the car though. She is not perfect. But I only bought it for the fun

@@downshiftauto326 Thanks! I got a new alternator from Rock Auto. They have reasonably priced parts as well. Curious if you know about a secondary air flow code. Whoever had the car b4 me cut the muffler off & now I have a P1423 code. I’m guessing it’s because the muffler is missing because there is a secondary O2 sensor behind the cat. Any info or guesses?

Also, the 2.8 didn't arrive in USA until '97. Wasn't available the first year.
Pretty neat those two transition years of 99 and 2000. I have the same motor (m52tub25) that you have, but because mine's a 99 I have the older interior. Yours is much more modern compared to mine. Btw, i have mine making around 215hp. It's a fun reliable motor.

Hi, do you still have this car? How do you rate them? I'm looking at a 2.2 because it meets emissions in London. The 2.8 I'd have to pay £12.50 to go into London which is about 15 dollars at a guess so not really an option.

Still love the car to bits but you really have to stay on top of these things. Certain plastic components under the hood get very brittle and can crack so when that becomes evident I would replace them. Otherwise fantastic car
