  • I really hope you enjoy following along step by step to crochet this beautiful Moss Stitch Triangle Scarf. It's nice and simple and once you start, it's a great project for while you're watching tv!
My finished scarf measures 58 inches along the top edge, but obviously you can make it as large as you like!
For the finished scarf I used Sirdar Pattercake: www.blacksheepwools.com/catal...
For the sample I used Sirdar Rainbowdrops: www.blacksheepwools.com/sirda...

Soooo I made a scrap blanket using this stitch and it’s become my 3 year old’s favorite... I showed my mother the blanket and how much I love the drape and how it’s warm but not too warm.... she is like “it would make a great stitch for a shawl” ..... looked it up and there you are!! The perfect person to walk me through this!!! I cannot wait to go and grab my yarn and stitch this up for my wonderful mother. I always know I can count on your videos to be clear and concise and I’ll end up with a beautiful gift!!
Love to you from the United States!

Hat is such a pretty speckle yarn. I love the shawl you have made it looks so soft to the touch and the colors look soft as well. A nice sttch , a warm and yet still light weight look. Nice.

Not sure if it is affected by the yarn/hook size but the 3 chains at the turn made my top edge loose and almost ruffly. Reduced to 2 and it was a little tight ending the row but the top edge is much straighter

Hi, Im doing a small lap blanket in Malabrigo Rios its a 10 Ply Aran yarn but knits up in either DK or Aran depending on needle size. Malabrigo state Knit Gauge: 18.0 to 22.0 sts = 4 inches Needle Size: 4 - 5mm and Hook Size: 5.5-6.5 mm. Ive seen some examples using DK Yarn and a size 6mm hook to get nice drape with the Moss stitch i.e.not too tight, but not loose either.. So with the Malabrigo Rios should I go up to a size 7mm hook? You said go up a half size so should I use a 6mm given that Malabrigo suggest 5.6-6.5mm range?

This would be fine, if it were using the American stitch names. It is too confusing to have to translate every stitch from one nationality to another. I'll just look for a triangle scarf using American stitch designations.

  • @thedarkmysteriousmidnight9130

I’m using U.K. terminology as that’s how I was taught, but I always give the U.S. stitch name at the beginning as well (you can hear the U.S. stitch name at 2:20). 😊 The difference in stitch terms can be confusing though! 🌸
