I am from Saudi Arabia . I don't know why I love old American trucks. Especially Ford trucks. A great story about a great truck. If I were in America for one day. I will look for these trucks. Thank you . Thank you CZcams. Thanks Ford. Thank you America.

Not only it's a heavy-duty truck. It's a time capsule too. Whoever owned her kept her as new as possible. Now if I had her. The only thing I would change is the wheels. To white spokes and 31x10 tires. And she is a work horse.

    Love your new truck….
Lots of guys call those Split Rims…. They’re not….I was corrected and informed they are “lock ring wheels”. A split rim actually splits in two.

Yes, split rims did not really seem correct to me but that’s what the person that sold me the truck was calling them.
Lock ring wheels does seem like an accurate description. Thank you very much.

Having the exhaust manifolds replaced on my 72 F250 Camper Special. Have you checked gas mileage yet? Have you had trouble pumping gas into the tank? I find I have to go very slow to avoid backsplash. Thanks for the video, enjoyed it, agree it is in very good shape.

I have barely driven the truck. And not put any gas in it yet. I will be getting the exhaust leak taken care of in the near future along with new wheels and tires.
I need to decide if I’m going to keep the camper on it or not. I do believe the truck would look better without it but, something about keeping it on appeals to me.

@@DashRiprock576Hello Dash, What a SWEET find! I believe that the original shell in and of itself is a rare piece.
The fact that it’s color matched ( looks like Wimbledon White) and is periodic correct (and from the original owner)AND custom made to their specs has to increase the value by about 25% IMHO.
They were the original overlanders!! What an amazing piece.
If you remove it, keep it safely stored and I would not sell it. That shell literally makes the truck , and is part of its great story. The brush guard is equally cool.
I would have loved to meet them and hear their stories. What a piece of automotive Americana !!!
You are a lucky man !! Kindest regards,
      Shawn, from the Sierra Valley

Thank you Shawn! I do think you are right about the shell. I think it needs to stay on the truck.
Thank you for your kind words.

Hello Dash. I LITERALLY just finished researching the Pullman shell and was going to reach out to you here! Impeccably timed!
A great many of the pictures I found showed these caps with a slider thst “pulled “ out off from where that upper box sits.
The slide out rested con top and became an overhang , aft of the rear door. They came with canvas side curtains and pole props to keep them up. I’m not sure if your particular shell matches that design, but these are HIGHLY collectible.
They seem to have cost near 900 dollars in the late 60s. You sure won’t hurt anything by removing it to safe storage ( heck, you’d probably gain 4 MPG with it off🤣) but it would be a crime to sell it given it’s provenance and patina.
I could stare at this truck all day , except for the rims 😂. I do imagine they played a role in visibility for their travel safety?
When you get the new rims in Wimbledon white it’s going to look GREATER still. I’m subbed to your channel and can’t wait to see the updates on this old girl !
THANK YOU for sharing her with us !

I’ll need to edit my original post later, but I meant to type $400 in the late 60s.
The pullout feature allowed one to enjoy a wind/sun/weather break and have a little seating area behind the rig in a camping scenario.
I found your video about your visit to the owners….such neat people. I can’t believe that no one had interest aside from yourself. It was meant to be for sure!!
