Totally agree! For me, the "Strong" song sang by Emma Heesters was, without a doubt in my mind, the most emotional moment from the whole show. It brings me tears every time I hear and watch it!
It's really great to see great artist go outside of their comfort zone. Seen some vids with Henk on a Nightwish concert and I think there are a lot of good singer that could contribute a lot to other music styles if they would try/were offered the chance.

Henk only practiced distortion two times before this show. He did it for Floor. Floor adores Henk from age 12 or something. She is his biggest fan. After Beste Zangers Henk was also a fan of Floor. That is why they now perform together sometimes.

Disturbed's singer, David Draiman, known for his harsh vocals (though he's a trained singer, having been a cantor in his Jewish school) , sings The Sound of Silence in a similar way, building up to the powerful use of vocal fry as the songs builds toward its crescendo. So this is the connection Henk taps into in relation to Floor. Draiman is, like Henk, a baritone, giving both singers that effortlessly rich vocal tonality.
Henk was basically one of Floor's main idols and inspirations. She agreed to go on this "reality" show ONLY because Henk was on the show in 2019. The show did get her home country to become aware of her talent. TMK, this was the FIRST time Henk even sang with distortion. If you watch full episode he discusses this. He goes a little metal "for Floor". Its full mutual appreciate between them. Also, after this season much of the band worked with Floor and actual performed with her. The collaborations were so good she worked with them afterwards.

At about 13 years old Floor's Mother took her to see Henk and Joke de Kruijf in the Dutch version of Phantom of the Opera. Floor was incredibly impressed by this song so when they asked her to go on Beste Zangers and told her Henk was going to be on the show she jumped at the chance to meet her childhood hero. Only 1 other of the singers had ever heard of Floor so when Floor opened the show by singing Vilja Lied for Henk they were all absolutely shocked and amazed. You are actually on the right track here!! Floor won a prize in the Netherlands that year, mainly because of her ability to build bridges between the genres. Floor has, from the start of her career, been mixing and working with mixing the techniques from all styles and genres, to get the ultimate results. And her work or progress are very obvious to the listeners. And here, in a little intimate studio with only 6 professional singers, she affects others to blow their boundaries and jump into the deep end - to create the ultimate experience of each song. And here Henk got inspired by Floor in the previous 3 sessions of Beste Zangers - to really throw his professional comfort zone away - and go for something he had never tried/dared to do - using distortion - just to give Floor something back. The result are in my opinion, the greatest version of the song ever. All the others said, during the sessions - after Floor had done a cover of one of their songs - now we have to do it over!. Precisely the same happened in 'Sing meinen song' from this year 2022 - Floor performed some versions that really inspired the others. Comments like: 'This was how the song was supposed to be' - or 'ours are just karaoke versions'!! Floor brings confidence to into people - to jump into the creative track, and evolve. Henk is a brilliant example - Floor and him have done more songs together, because Henk wants to explore his 'rock side'

One of the highlights of this night when they were honoring Floor was Emma Heester’s version of Floor’s song Strong. It brought Floor to tears, as she (Floor) had written it about her mother who suffers from constant pain, yet perseveres. Probably the most touching moment in the entire show

The whole series was fantastic . You dont need to react but watch each full episode. At the start Floor was unknown to Holland and all but one of the singers. Now Floor is a dutch superstar and in fact this weekend is singing the national anthem at the F1 race (Dutch Grand Prix)

I must say there are a few good versions of this great song out there. For me Disturbed’s version with lead singer David Draiman is probably the finest cover version of any song ever. In fact so good the original writer said this was David’s song from now on. Can’t get better than that and definitely worth a listen.

And here Henk got inspired by Floor in the previous 3 sessions of Beste Zangers - to really throw his professional comfort zone away - and go for something he had never tried/dared to do - using distortion - just to give Floor something back.
The result are in my opinion, the greatest version of the song ever.
All the others said, during the sessions - after Floor had done a cover of one of their songs - now we have to do it over!.
Precisely the same happened in 'Sing meinen song' from this year 2022 - Floor performed some versions that really inspired the others. Comments like: 'This was how the song was supposed to be' - or 'ours are just karaoke versions'!!
Floor brings confidence to into people - to jump into the creative track, and evolve.
Henk is a brilliant example - Floor and him have done more songs together, because Henk wants to explore his 'rock side'
Before this starts just wanted to say .. I like you guys. As reactors first .. but also as people. I think you would make for fine neighbors and friends .. which I suppose is as good a complement as any. :)
One of the highlights of this night when they were honoring Floor was Emma Heester’s version of Floor’s song Strong. It brought Floor to tears, as she (Floor) had written it about her mother who suffers from constant pain, yet perseveres. Probably the most touching moment in the entire show

Henk sings some opera but he is more known for the musicals. The Phantom of the Opera is actually a musical.
Around 20 operas and 11 musicals. I'd say he's an opera singer first and foremost, just better known to the masses for leading roles in The Phantom, Les Mis etc.

If I may recommend one other song from this show, please react to Emma Heesters singing"Strong", by Floor for Floor. It's that Floor made for her mother, who suffers from intense pains and tries to not show it to the kids, always being strong and keeping a positive attitude. It's a must-see performance and Floor's reaction is wonderful.

At the start Floor was unknown to Holland and all but one of the singers.
Now Floor is a dutch superstar and in fact this weekend is singing the national anthem at the F1 race (Dutch Grand Prix)
Bla bla bla “unknown to Holland”… simply not true, she was very well know in the symponic rock scene…. played numerous festivals for many many years… she was already more then 20 years on podiums in The Netherlands…
I have just seen your reaction to Phantom and now watching this, in a way I feel you should see the longer version, where Henk also tells Floor he is going to sing this song, because it just gives a bit more background information. But either way, you got to see another amazing performance, and I loved watching you enjoy it

I must say there are a few good versions of this great song out there. For me Disturbed’s version with lead singer David Draiman is probably the finest cover version of any song ever. In fact so good the original writer said this was David’s song from now on. Can’t get better than that and definitely worth a listen.
