(I was working on something Coulson & Daisy focused but lost motivation/inspiration last night so I just decided to finish this one instead.)
I love love love these two so much. I feel like I may have been the only person that wasn't upset by Fitz's absence in s7 (I don't like his character these days as much as I used to, and I also wanted Simmons to have more bonding moments with other characters - I'd wanted more Daisy/Simmons friendship scenes but hey, I got Deke!) I also really really love Deke and I hate how much hate he gets from the fandom and the characters. He was EXCELLENT in s7 and he's such a genuinely lovely and loyal character.
I really enjoyed their bond - I didn't want to make a FitzSimmons + Deke video as I don't really like the interactions between Fitz and Deke. It's so funny that in the beginning of s5, he had absolutely no interest in Simmons' fate other than ensuring the SHIELD team didn't cause ripples for his world, and by s7, he would have done anything for her.
Love and miss this lil grandmother/grandson duo.

Deke inherited his "Protect Jemma Simmons" and survival instincts from his Bobo, and his big, bleeding heart from his Nana. I think the timeline he's leading SHIELD in is going to be just fine with him around. :')
I know he's gonna do great.
First because of all his goodness that you listed.
Second because in that universe, the world doesn't know that shield was corrupted by hydra. Yes, chronicoms destroyed a lot but they can build with the help of government considering it was an alien attack and they don't have to hide anymore.
Third, coulson, fury, Maria hill, Victoria hand, Tony stark, Clint and Natasha etc are young and alive. He can use the greatest brains and brawns to the fullest potential without worrying about who to trust because he already knows what they become.
He may also live long enough to see his entire team join SHIELD one by one except for daisy who doesn't exist in that timeline.
Deke and Simmons' relationship is so beautiful and so pure and so wholesome. She loved him from the moment she knew and he stepped up to look out for her and fight for her. Their bond will always be one of my favorites. I wish we got more of them, or even at least one goodbye scene :(
it's my biggest regret from the finale, that we never saw the goodbyes. Deke earned that!

I like the bond between Simmons and Deke. I wish Fitz had a similar relationship with his grandson.
they're just fantastic and so underrated. Yeah, I think seeing Fitz put Deke down so much actually pushed me away from Fitz's character the past few seasons, which is such a shame!

@@HostilePoet17 Fitz is not a people person. His lack of a connection with Deke is totally in character. That connection would have grown and deepened in time but fate determined that it just wasn't to be.
@@HostilePoet17 Well at least Fitz from Season 5. I think Season 6 Fitz was more offended that Deke used his ideas for his tech company.
@@jackdubz4247 Fitz isn't a people person, true, but we have seen him form deep bonds with others in shorter amount of time, so the fact that the one relationship on this show that he was never given truly the space and time to develop a stronger bond with being his grandson is just sad. Because we could have had a Fitzsimmons Family against the world kind of story, and instead we got Fitz being with Deke in a way that was reflective of how his own father treated him, and it's just not a good look for Fitz. I know that in his heart Fitz does love Deke, I think he shows that from time to time, especially in those season 6 moments. But I wish we got a scene of Fitz saying to Deke that he is proud of him, even if just a quick moment before they said their final goodbyes, it would have made for at least a closure to that arc. But we never got that goodbye and I think that is a lost opportunity.
Deke is a good grandson. Love him and his Nana. Wish he had had a better relationship with his Bobo. :(
Also can you imagine missing the key bit of information that he's their grandson and getting the very wrong idea that he and Fitz were competing for Jemma. Cause he's their age LOL.

Deke as an whole arc/story was great, the family storyline was everything. I love a good riddle from the future, this dynamic was a great watch
Deke was my absolutely fav character In aos he went trough so much but he still always tries to help everyone around him
I really loved him by the end of the series, he really grew into such a fantastic and kind-hearted character after a rocky start in s5. It saddens me that the team dismissed him so much when was so loyal to them.

Like you, I hated seeing the hate Deke got. He had a heart of gold which you truly saw in his relationship with Jemma and your vid did a brilliant job of highlighting that.

Has there ever been a greater time-traveling grandmother/grandson pairing? I think not.
This editing is something truly special. I am sobbing with happiness and sadness. This very video is brilliant but these parts stuck out to me: 0:55- 1:11 with that pause is fantastic. 1:57- 2:34 truly broke my heart. 4:10- 4:25 and how the saying comes full circle from grandmother to mother to son. I never hated or disliked Deke but the way he evolved is amazing. And I really do miss that little weirdo.

zeke was such a fresh addition to the group, you totally feel his absence when he's not around and his relationship with jemma was amazing. i agree with everyone in the comments, i wish fitz had given him a chance. it makes me wonder if he'd be as distant with their daughter, and that's a sad send-off of a character that - for the most part of the show - had a kind heart. great vid btw.

Anyone notice Deke's mum was a redhead yet the toddler they showed in the finale was blonde? Pretty sure they didn't have hair dye available after the world collapsed 😅
A lot of people have blonde hair as babies but when they get older their hair changes colour. So it most likely happened with Alya.
It could be childhood, I was pretty blonde as a kid. But I also think that maybe Alya isn't the same child they had in that timeline. I'd be surprised if Alya went on to have Deke given how they fundamentally changed their own future in s5, she may never meet Deke's father now.
