Ottos back hand shots is just too powerful, None of it that landed were received but on the other hand a lot of them missed
High risk, high return strategy
Exactly you have to find a good balance. It's all about shot selection: when to go all in vs more control. Also, Otto smash a lot, that's his strength. But smashing has no spin so can be easily counter (if you anticipate it that is..)
But it's easy to handle, just don't give him there.
Otto is that guy in the club who depresses the shit out of you by crushing you without legwork as if it'd be an overkill
Yeah, like you hit your best forehand at him and he just blocks it back down the channel and gives you the "don't give me there!" look.
If Otto's footwork was on the level of his backhand , he would be insanly good
Alex is a really nice guy. He played a tournament here in Sweden last year. And I had the honour to interview him. He was nervous. Because it was his first interview in swedish ever. And he did it really good 😊
Nice to hear. But he should come to Germany 🏓❤
Good match and predictably tough for Otto against the Finnish number 2, however he probably feels he had his chances to get it done in 4. Otto looked a little deflated when he lost that fourth set - psychology is a big part of this game.
That 4th game ending came back to haunt ya. Tough to recover from that.
I genuinely thought Otto wouldn't have a chance here, but it was really quite even match. As we all know, his back hand smash is world class, but his overall game has gotten better as well.
He has a chance he gave too quickly
He's beaten Alex a bunch.
1:01 that net was hilarious
1:01 I have never seen that, nor will ever see that again. It made me question for a second the rule on that. Otto's ball bounces off the net bracket on his side the table and somehow still worked its way over to the opponents side. Going off memory without looking it up I believe even that net bracket & post are considered as part of the net so everything is still completely legal is my guess. I suppose good on the opponent not leaving anything up to chance and just treating it like any ordinary net ball that comes over and puts it away but that was one weird, weird, point.
ive seen it in a professional match before
You are correct, the net bracket is still considered part of the net and therefore, it's a legal ball if it's hit, bounces off of it and then hits the opponent's side of the table. It doesn't happen a lot, but it's not super duper rare either if you play a lot of tabletennis.
They both played so well
Wonderfull match
2:01 What was that?! Also, everyone talking about Otto but Alex is a really good player, although full time pro..
Good game! Otto’s sisu-backhand almost crushed the ball, haha! Tight match and enjoyable to watch! Greetings from Stockholm
This plus channel is amazing.
It’s cool that Alex is friends with you guys because he trains in the same club as me!
there's a lot of "don't give me there" moments watching Otto play is like watching niwa trying but not trying 😂😂
Otto is the table tennis tank
Ottos Backhand is just powerful💪
Been watching alex ever since the first match vs mika when mika did a comeback win,
I ve always wanted alex to be in one of your videos
Damn Otto's backhand shots are insane! Too many don't give me there moments xD
do they have youtube channel about finnish tt league? i think i ve seen that but cannot remember 😢
Seeing this level of ping pong I have one question: do you study your rivals? do you watch matches of rivals like these to try to have more chances against them? thank you!
Nice game form otto😘 nice
Otto looks really strong when he play his best. But it feels like he stop playing his game sometimes, and idk why.
I think mentally he was gone when he didn't win the fourth set. Up till then he was doing good. Alex is an excellent player, number 2 in Finland, always going to be a tough match.
Spectacular
Hey otto.... do u use the sensei racket whilst playing?
4:38 “don’t give me there”
Anyone knows the wood paddle Alex is using ?
6:54 "Don't give me there"
He's top 3 in the Netherands at the moment!
Can you explain? I thought they were both Finnish
@@daecke7594 they are.
@@peggis8699 so why is "top 3 in the Netherlands" mentioned then?
Dont really know. Maybe he is playing in a ping pong league of some sorts over there
@@daecke7594 Alex Naumi plays in the highest Dutch league at the moment (which is really weak). But he's doing well there, nice to see some of his games
So many "don't give me there" moments. Noiceeee.
OMG this backhand
Come on Senseï ! i expect more from you next time 😁maybe a little bit more of variation of placements when you serve and more agressivity in the game 😉
2:16 “Don’t give me there” - Otto
Otto's backhand is like a shotgun. So powerful.
What gets me are his powerful angled blocks. It's very difficult to go all-out attack against someone who can counter like that, unless you are on the level of someone like Alex. His ability to counter heavy top-spin loops and drives with angled blocks down the channels is insane - if I could have one of Otto's skills, it would be that. In local league TT I'd become very difficult to beat 🤣
I have seen Alex playing live in the Dutch Eredivisie (highest tabletennis level in The Netherlands). There it was one of the best players. Otto beat him almost so i think Otto's level would be fine for the Dutch Eredivisie. Great to see!
Otto used to play in the French League so yeah, he is good enough to play in many of the European leagues and certainly in places like (as you say) The Netherlands, Belgium, Denmark, Spain etc. He'd be great in our British Premier League too but it's almost 100% amateur, he wouldn't earn a bean!
@@Wally-H Really? In which league did Otto play in France? Pro B? N1? I am quite curious. I know that Olah Benedek is currently playing in Pro A but I didn't know that Otto used to play in France as well ^^
Alex Naumi is currently ranked second in the Netherlands based on ELO rating. He's insane.
@@sebastienguerrero6323 Actually my memory got this wrong, I was thinking about this video but it's actually a France v Finland international czcams.com/video/RDSvxZMjtoY/video.html
@@rubberduck8096 Yes, lucky for my tabletennis club he didn't played in the Dutch finals. So my club finally won the final.
When Alex gets confident in attacking half longs, it's over.
Should I flip the video horizontally to watch it as normal as it should be?
0:58, "don't give me there."
i think otto is very good player, but i think he's also easy to frustrate, being serious to a game is a must, but you also have to enjoy the game..
Does mikka/will mikka play there? And man otto just developed that much of offensive and counterattacking them balls
Con qué equipo juega otto?
awesome
LOVE YOUI
Throw of the century
Ottos body language is a lot of 'i dont give any shits' right from the getgo. On one hand its funny af, on the other hand i wonder why he playes championships like that. Dude, if you dont want to, just stay at home and have a beer 😂
I really want to ask about this.. Why people always do "kill" move right of the bat? I mean... Is it not for fun anymore when on real match/tournament? Just curious. Or is it just too scary to do defends? Thankss
Pressure
@@KrisBotha I see @__@............
Тип откровенно сливает в некоторых моментах
Where is Alex playing? Pls. all come to Germany ❤❤
Was he using the sensei racket is the question
So near, yet so far
Should have won that one Otto
Ottos equipment rubers, blaide?
same question
Who is this guy? 😊 Looks like Miika+Emil lovechild.
6:53 niiice one.
The guy that won over otto plays in swedens highest league with eslov, so i do not think otto lost on purpose, but good match
I play in Eslöv club to 😅
Ranking-wise, it's very clear who the top 2 players in Finland are. Benedek Olah is world ranking 117, Alex Naumi is 422, Otto and Miikka aren't in top 1000.
@@Baiko Otto is ranked as 521 at the moment, Miikka is 762...
some commentary would improve this dramatically!
Adam B?
@@rafarush45 :D
Yes Otto🏓🏓🏓🏓🏓🏓🏓🏓🀄
2:40 That looks like my forehand
I wonder if lefthanded opponent is uncomfortable for the lefthanded player
Yes,many times.
Not necessarily because you can serve diagonally into the backhand
Why does Alex look like a mix of Emil and Mikka?
the luck on that side of the table bro
wtf at 0:15 so powersfull !
I feel like Otto gave up at the end. Never give up!
`Maybe the guy's loud chole got to him
Otto kinda gave this game away.
ALEX NAUMI rank is number 98 by ETTU
❤
1:05 is that legal?
yes, from the ITTF handbook "2.7.1 The ball, having been served or returned, shall be struck so that it touches the opponent's court, either directly or after touching the net assembly." "2.2.1 The net assembly shall consist of the net, its suspension and the supporting posts, including the clamps attaching them to the table."
"Moro Raimo! Mitäs vittua sä täälä teet..?"
6:37 Why did they switch sides?
So that no one can cry about other side being better
yeah, that is actually right.
There's a rule that when it's 5th point in the last set players switch sides
@@supertlp1062 It's true! The right side is definitely better =)
Because it was the 5th set. If players are close and they have to play the last set, sides are switched as soon as one player reaches 5 points.
Otto is too fairplay to win, he loses on purpose
Not in this case😅
@@PongfinityPlus not to us Otto, not to us
Are you joking ? ? ?
жаль
my playin styles is incredibly similar to Otto's: not the greatest footwork, passive forehand, and ridiculously overpowered backhand
Alex is so annoying.. Pety Otto didn´t keep his cool and won the match..
Why there's a girl with a mask on the face?
otto not sigma mindset
First
Pro Otto🏓🏓🏓🏓🏓🏓🏓🏓
Alex serves illegally - above the table, but he should serve behind the edge.
Not true
Otto was better
So looser is better ?
@@jukkafilen5541 sometimes
First comments🙏🙏
The screaming after every single point is very annoying
Doesn't look like Otto enjoys the competition part. Looks unfocused. The sensei is no doubt better than this kid
Not true.
Отто лентяй, двигаться вообще не любит справа только плоские высокие мячи, на короткой дистанции провал, любитель одним словом
