Obviously the ice maker is producing ice faster than you are consuming it and thus it solidifies. The remedy? Tap the on-off switch for the ice maker located in the ice maker compartment to turn it off for a few days until the supply of ice decreases. Then tap the on-off button again to turn it back on.
The problem isn't in the ice. The ice indicates the problem of temperature levels bouncing. I have a LG now, consuming the same amount of ice as I always did and no problems like this.
I had the alarm going off now and again and maybe because of the ice collecting into a block. I did not know how to shut off the ice, so now I kow. Thanks. Hope it stops the alarm now.
You may want to consider speaking with a Lemon Law attorney. Most people only think of Lemon Law as applying to cars, but it also applies to home appliances like your fridge.
Thanks for this. Everyone keeps telling me this fridge was better because the ice maker is in the freezer. But it seems all appliances are having problems. The standard of quality just is there any more. Thanks for your video saved me from making a bad purchase. 🤔🤔🤔🤔. I now have no idea what brand appliances to go with. The price are just rediculous and the quality isnt even as good as a child's toy appliance.
Wow! Thank you so much! I was thinking about getting this fridge, but now, I'm going to keep researching. Geez, for that kind of money, I'd expect a flawless machine and top notch service.....so sorry you've had to deal with this nightmare. Good luck.
Your welcome. I'm glad I can save others a headache with my review. Bosch is a very slow at sending replacement parts And my repair service keeps rescheduling me out 2 weeks in advance because the technician has family emergencys that come up last second and they cancel and reschedule.. yet the alarm keeps going off 3-4 times a night. It's a nightmare that no one should go through. Bosch also refused to buy back the fridge saying the problem isn't big enough for them to buy it back.
TheStrivering Ive been doing research for over a month now and have come to the conclusion that nobody makes good appliances anymore. To much software and buttons that could malfunction. Also most of the refrigerators on the market only took a little over a year to design and and produce. Everyone expects these companies to come out with a new and improved product each year but complain when the product fails. How can you expect something to last longer than the time it took to design it. My best guess is go with something cheap and easy to replace.
I am now rethinking the Bosch refrigerator. For this pricepoint it should be perfect. I have all Bosch appliances (dishwasher, cooktop, microwave and over) that have not had any issues except for the dishwasher.
Great. This fridge is being delivered wednesday after not having one for 3 months due to my 2 1/2 year old Samsung breaking. Samsung did the right thing and refunded almost all of my money because it was the cooling system that was broken. However, with supply chain issues, it was slim pickings on getting a refrigerator this month. And their warranty isn't as robust as samsung's was. At least samsung covered parts and labor. Bosch only covers parts after the 1st year. I'm already having buyer's remorse and i haven't even gotten it yet. I really wish these companies would stand by their products.
I had the same cooling system problem with my Samsung. They wouldn't stand by it and neither would the company I had an extended warranty from. I'll never buy another Samsung product. Had similar issues with my previous LG.
What is your experience with the Bosch refrigerator?? I just ordered the Bosch with the wine drawers because I had two Samsungs with the "Family Hub" with ice maker issues. The second replacement Samsung had issues right before 30 days!! I'm so over Samsung and decided to get the Bosch model B36CL81ENG
Thanks for this, you saved me from a bad decision 🙂 Sorry you're having so much trouble with yours. My Bosch dishwasher is so good I was considering going with their fridge and range. Very happy I didn't pull the trigger yet. The problem's you're having are inexcusable and the fact that the company will not stand behind their product is more alarming.
Today marks the 12th time they came to repair my refrigerator. In an email to Bosch where I asked them to take the broken refrigerator back, they replied saying that there isnt an extensive report of repairs yet to generate a return. If 12 visits to repair a refrigerator isn't enough, I don't know what is considered to be extensive...
Yea, best of luck on the fridge search. Just a tip, but from a store with a good return policy. So if anything does happen like it did to me, you have a hassle free return. Like at Costco.
@@TheStrivering I get all my appliances from ABT Electronics and they have great customer service and shipping is free if you live in the Chicagoland area.
I purchased a different model Bosch duel compressor fridge in March 2020 and am having all the same issues: melted ice, the top freezer shelf rails broke, alarm goes off randomly (thankfully not as often as yours) + the freezer compressor fan makes an ungodly loud noise frequently, like an hour a day. I've had service out twice so far (I purchased the extended warrantee), but each time they tell me there's nothing wrong that they can see...and suggest that maybe I left the door open or that I'm hearing the ice maker (I know what an ice maker sounds like...duh!). I'm beyond frustrated. Like you, I believed Bosch engineering would make this a quality unit. I need to purchase other appliances and no longer trust the brand and their service.
I just bought this fridge a couple of months ago and just unboxed it today. I researched refrigerators for months and this one had the best reviews which is the only reason I bought it. I wanted a side by side but none of them had the water dispensers that were big enough to fit a water bottle to fill up. We just hooked up the water to it and already the dispenser is leaking after we filled 3 full cups of water. I'm reading its because of the air in the lines? I also really don't like having to open the fridge to fill my thermos with water....and then it starts beeping because the fridge door is open. Anybody else having problems? They just don't make this stuff like they used to.
As explained in the videos, you can't send it back. Once ordered, it's unreturnable. Only if you can prove the appliance is unrepairable, then they will accept it back.
I'm getting read to buy one of these. Did the service call fix the alarm issues? If you are having overfill of ice, the user manual does say not to store the ice scoop in the ice cube bin, because it throws off the fill level sensor, which is probably why you are getting more ice and having to throw away a chunk. The fact that the ice looks melted also may be the reason behind the alarm going off, not because of the door, but because of the freezer temp too warm. If you are worried about freezer shelf height, both freezer trays are removable.
What about issues w/the ice maker just stopping? I just replaced the water filter and made sure the ice tray is correctly placed on the rails. Also pressed the button in the ice making area to “turn it on indicated by the green light going on and off”
My problem is the icemaker and the water dispenser never worked when we received it. We’ve had the tech come out four times and still the problem hasn’t been fixed. This is frustrating.
I'm really torn. I had an LG now with its second major problem but it is 6 years old. This fridge is perfect looking and looks almost exactly like what I would buy today but suffers from LG compressor coolant issue. The repair guy said get Bosch but not LG or Samsung. I'm torn.
They say that GE is one of the best companies for fridges and kitchen aid. My opinion based on experience and their customer service.

My same model is around 6 months old. The 2 front panels were easily dented within 4 months and I don't even know how. The ice cubes are regularly broken with shattered pieces so we don't get nicely shaped cubes. In Canadian dollars we paid over $5000 for this unit. Completely not worth the money!

No. The beeping is still here daily. Hopefully they'll come out today, Wednesday to fix it. They've been here so much already, they don't even know why the company won't just replace it. They replaced so much parts, but still can't figure out what's wrong with it.
