Tawna: I still think she is Australian but maybe she is American.

Glad to see that they all have some personality now. They used to just be basically the same thing but with a different skin, so this is most definitely an improvement. And the weird thing is that all the character quirks they have feel like this is how they should've been the whole time. Like Ami being the most headstrong one, Megumi being the ditzy one. It all feels like it makes sense, design-wise.

I consider Isabella having twin braids an improvement on her. I know it's just her motorsport costume. If she had that hairstyle all along, I think nobody would have confused her with Tawna. I did read about her having a new hairstyle way different from Tawna in Nitro-Fueled.

I also confused them too. I do prefer the braided hair version of Isabella. I think nobody would have confused her with Tawna if she had braided hair, because I probably would have noticed they were different characters if she had braided hair the whole time. In Crash Team Racing, after I got all the relics and read about the trophy girls while the credits roll, that's when I found out her name is Isabella, not Tawna.
I like how there's more female characters in this game. Tawna Bandicoot is probably my favorite

Tawna was originally crash's girlfriend in the first game, eventually she was scrapped out of the series and was replaced by coco, she only made brief cameos for a while afterwards. In the game's universe it was said that she had left crash for being too immature for her and moved on to date pinstripe, but in reality she was removed from the game due to her design being too suggestive for a children's game.
In the crash remake she was no longer mentioned as crash's girlfriend but instead as his friend. Why? I'm not entirely sure
The victory animations for the girls in their motorsport suits make them seem like something from some sentai-type show (like Power Rangers/Beetle Borgs/Tattooed Teenage Alien Fighters from Beverly Hills)

If you look closely at the shadowed crowd you can see coco in the crowd doing her victory Dance!
taking a look myself... i think *ALL* of them are actually coco in different skins, they do that awkward dance then jump to take a picture at different times, its hard to tell but i can see it

Not impossible but it will take awhile before the content from the event will start to show up in shop.
I believe they'll be in the Pit Stop for a while.
Only Tawna is exclusive to the event. The other girls can be acquired at the pit stop. Tawna will be added to the pit stop later on too but it will take a while.

Not only did activision and co. bring back the trophy girls after people were asking about them as playable characters, but gave them names and personalities as well.
In just about two games, activision gave more personality to the series than the last one did for all their other games.
They had names since PS1.

Cortex went back in time to rule Egypt while everyone else got new jobs. Crash and tiny joined a biker gang in order to get some action, and boy did they get some ;) (also dingodile is fighting the system with his true to life street art)
