people don't remember this, but back in 2014, there was a point where mango was starting to look like the isai of melee. he went about even with armada and dropped the occasional set to PP or m2k, but other than that, he was completely in a league of his own. the way he played the game was totally unique, his character roster was deep as fuck, and he had convincing wins over other top players even while he was sandbagging (his falcon destroying zhu back when zhu was top 5 in cali, his marth destroying chillin and hax, etc)... it's a testament to how dominant he was when he's still probably the 3rd or 4th best player in the world and yet we consider him (at least to some degree) 'washed up'
Because Mango IS Scorpion Master. It was a prank he and his friends made up after he got banned from SWF. That was like 2009-2010, I think. I know he got 25th at Apex that year.
It has often been quoted by others that they want to be just like Scorpion Master, but they do not realize the daily challenges which come with that as well. His daily routine consists of winning Russian Roulette tournaments with a fully loaded revolver, and giving financial advice to Warren Buffett. His day usually ends by showing his bed and pillow how inferior they are by sleeping on a bed of nails and coals, while ordering his women to make multiple hydrochloric acid sandwiches for tomorrow.
