  • In this inspirational series, Sarah Beeny sets out to prove that anyone can have the home they've always dreamed about, even if they can't afford to buy it. Rather than making the expensive decision to move house, it may be cheaper to turn your run-down property into the home of your dreams!

For me it’s smart to have your parents living space on a ground level. Think they are going to get older and having to go up and down stairs may not be a problem now but in the future.

Anita and Neil did a superb job (especially for their budget). Great to see a project where the family are not adding a huge modern kitchen/diner, but creating a lovely home for the whole family.

It's awfull news that Russel lost his job. It's the problem of modern day economy, a job for life doesn't exist in this world anymore. Hope he gets sorted soon.

I love this show because the homes keep their original character and aren't turned into a sterile, cold contemporary house with unusual siding and roofing materials.
It's refreshing that the homes get better instead of ruined.

Considering the parents we're paying for some of the build, the son in law should be less selfish about that gym, he probably will not end up using everyday anyway. I would take advice from a professional.

I would have put in the connecting doorway. However, it might be better not to have it in case they want to sell or rent the unit down the road.

Geez, what does Sarah have against garages? Yet again she has talked people out of having one, and now the poor guy still has no where for his gym equipment, not to mention no area for storage of paints, bicycles, kids buggies etc. But hey, they got a tiny nondescript room where they can put 2 cane chairs and a few scented candles.

while white people find them a burden & shove them quickly in a old folks home! asians don't, as parents gave birth & raised you, in return you can at least be there for them in final years.
