At one point, a scammer scammed one of my friends, they took their ice dragon wings and sedge hat. I felt so bad, my friend was really sad. So when they found the scammer, I made a plan to scam the items back. But I was too nice for that and realized it was a bad idea, to be fair, I lightly undertraded, but I lost an item I really liked and spent a whole lot of sapphires getting it back. I got my friend the items back, and gave the items to them- I’m not going to mention the full story, but I had a falling out with that friend and we aren’t friends anymore, I don’t feel all that bad about losing that item for them. I still helped someone I suppose.
As someone who used to be a scammer, i was told multiple times to kill myself, and got a dox threat, while scamming is NOT ok, that dosent mean you get to harrass those people that extent.
Yeah. Young children probably don't realize how bad it could be yet, or perhaps are just impressionable, seeing other players scam and so they decided to do it. They should still be held accountable for it of course, because they probably still know it's hurting people's feelings, but they're young and have a chance to change and grow. Teenagers and older, that's where I lose any support for them. If they do manage to improve as a person and become better, I'll be proud of them, and I'll forgive them (as long as they give everyone's items back!) but oftentimes these people are a lost cause
What's bad about kids scamming, is that they're doing a bad thing that they might not even learn is the wrong thing to do. We can only hope that they'll learn it isn't okay before becoming a teen and adult. But the good news is that they'll likely learn if they're a kid.
I remember being accused of being a scammer once in a giveaway because I wasn’t moving enough. I remember all the death threats I got on my fandom wall and having alts coming to my den with my username and different numbers just sending angry faces. It haunted me for days and i even apologised even though it wasn’t even my doing. Make awareness posts but sending harassment towards others is horrible especially when they get wrongly accused
I was young at the time and i didn’t even know how to react to the assumptions so i said some stupid stuff in my defence that made me seem like more like the alt of the actual scammer
For me I was young and I wanted something but had zero luck getting it so the obvious thing was that I made a bad decision and scammed someone. Looking back I feel so bad and I now understand the consequences of scamming. I want to find the person to give them their items back but I don't remember them anymore

I used to be a scammer on adopt me on Roblox when I was 9 a couple years ago because I was sad that I was never as good as everyone else but later on in life I found out ‘hey, that was a completely stupid move I should’ve done this’ and now I’ve been improving mentally and physically also since when that was happening
If its the same person, im 99% sure ive talked to the animal jam seller, shes actually rlly sweet and trying to just take care of and raise her kids, i sold everything i owned of value to her at a huge discount to quit and to help her

When i was like 13-14 i would send hate to scammers who made videos about their scams and whatnot and act like i was *way* more morally right than them when i was literally out there making an 'item generator site' in secret at that very moment, grabbing people's accounts.I was such a hypocrite and thought 'nah its fine when i do it, it's different!'. I guess some of it was projecton to a degree, like i knew what i did was wrong and i took it out on other people who did the same. Karma hit me real quick after i did that tho, as i got hacked not even a week later after making that site lol. Now that im older ive realized alot of what you said in the video: that it's last resorts to make a living or unhealthy coping mechanisms, etc. i was definitely *not* in a good mindset back then when i did it, and i struggled *alot* with my mental health. It's nice to see people in this community talk about this in a mature way, and discuss it in this manner now. it's not as black and white/ good and evil as i saw it as when i was a kid. It's still horrible, yeah, but it's a way more gray area, and there's alot more to it than what meets the eye. This is a really important video and i'm glad someone out there's talking about it!

It’s a crazy world out there, some people may think it’s unreasonable or impossible to do something like scam on animal jam to cope but the brain works in strange ways. 💜💜
Jammers mostly become scammers by they want blackout spike sm or rares, but its mostly noticed if theyre gonna scam you by pressuring you or hurring you up because they cannot wait for the rare to go to them. There are also patient scammers, they will just wait for you to get comfortable, i actually got scammed by that tatic and i recovered from that ( my RARE default glider got scammed>:[) Hopefully you have a great day or night kijji❤
The whole "cannot wait for the rare to get to them" thing is so true, actually. They can't wait 5 seconds for people to even bring out the rare or even chat about what the other person gets in return, and this also happens outside of AJ. Underrated comment
amazing video, 10/10, and its amazing how you dive into the mental health of someone who scams or hacks. however, there’s something you didn’t really put in the video, so i wanna put it here; please, please, PLEAAASE, if you are a scammer/hacker of aj, don’t use this video as a excuse, rather use it as an example of why you do what many people despise, maybe even try to use this video as a way to get (in a very very nice way) professional help. dont take this video for granted, as what kijji says is very light hearted and kind towards others. ive seen people use these kind of videos to twist it to guilt trip others, in the end making their situation even worser. This video couldn’t have relayed the behavior of scammers & hackers any better. As often as it may occur, there is always a trigger to poor decision-making. Whether that would be for survival purposes or simply because the scammer/hacker is numb/void of any emotions. Personally, I believe people do these terrible deeds as a way to harm themselves without openly saying so. It is unfortunate but true. Thank you for making this video, Sam. If there is a crucial takeaway from this video, if you are a hacker or scammer, do not use mental health as an excuse when backed into a corner. I haven’t played animal jam in years as I’m 18 and an online game thays honestly similar is fallout 76 believe it or not, sounds funny but you can build your camp just like you can build your camp, there is trading just like AJ, there are scammers and levels of rarity in items. I have very very rare items in fallout76, and it reminded me of the days of me playing animal jam. I’ve never ever scammed but met some but I never go scammed as I always kept my den locked. My whole den was full of beta and rare plushies and every variant anyone can think off. I haven’t played since AJ refuses to give me my account back, but it was fun, but I remember feeling how scared of being hacked or scam especially how young I was. I don’t remember any jammers doing this ever, idk if it’s different now but I’m fallout 76, people will shower newer players with rare items or starter packs, the community is really sweet, I can never say that for AJ.just like AJ, there are shops too either gems or caps (that’s the currency in fallout76, it’s the most well known economy in every fallout game). I remember Fman was a well known scammer and hacker, the memeorys….
Thank you so much for making this video! I think you provided an incredibly important perspective that can apply to both AJPW and AJC (though unfortunately AJHQ isn't quite as responsive with AJC). I really appreciate that you go through motives and solutions, rather than just listing reasons scammers are awful. I actually had a friend on Classic who was harassed CONSTANTLY for scamming, even though she didn't and there WASN'T evidence. She was personally attacked enough that she felt unsafe logging on and abandoned her account, starting from scratch completely on a new account.
honestly, when i was younger i was tired of being "unrare" i wanted everything... forest guantlets, double tail, blackout wings, raccoon tail, dizzy stars ECT. ive considered scamming when i was younger, i wanted all the "cool jammer" stuff, thankfully, i never scammed. now, i solely play AJPW for the nostalgia ect, which my account isnt "rare" rarest thing i have is just rainbow spike, thats it. i think when you scam when your younger its still bad but kids are kids and kids are idiots. i think the topic of scamming/hacking is honestly interesting, cause there is so many sides on why people do it, like it, ECT.
When I was ten and I first played animal jam I was poor and I had no friends.. people didn’t bully me luckily and there was less scammers when I play in 2022.. I met this person who needed a buddy so I buddied them. :) they were happy to have a new friend so they gifted me a pet bee since I was new it’s name was wispywisp and it had lashes, the colors were pink and blue. I loved my bee soo much that I was gonna keep it safe! Until one day I went to the formal thing party and my buddy was offline.. I was dancing and having fun! Soon a fox traded me and said “hi” and i reply “hello is there anything you need?” and then they said “I will give u 2000 saps for your bee.” I was screaming OMG but I loved my bee at the same time I had none saps.. but then I thought of an idea I can buy another bee and make is the same look and name :d so I said how will I get the saps? They said to me trade it to me and I will give u 2000 saps sooo I did.. people we singing so I lost the user In the chat. I cried so much that I wanted to get my revenge back! I started scamming for my bee but I never found my bee.. after a month of scamming and seeing the reactions I realized I hurt someone’s feelings and my mom told me treat others the way u want to be treated.. I didn’t want my feelings hurt so I gave back the items and said I was sorry.. I told them the story.. they understood why I was like this and I how I felt.. I just miss my bee and I’m sorry if I scammed u guys :c but my actions changed because I realized it was a bag thing to do. Today I still looking for me bee though!
I got scammed, i gave someone my pass cuz they said they'd give me saps, and they DID get me sapphires, and i hadn't gotten my password reset, so i didn't think to change it. And then a while later i got a double tail.. and then i HAD gotten my password reset. This was a long time ago, i'm fine now. I STILL REMEMBER THAT COYOTE'S DEVILISH FACE!
The other day on animal jam classic a seal tried scamming me and steal my rares saying they are ajhq and someone warned me that the seal was a scammer and I reported the seal and blocked them and they were still trying to get me to believe they were ajhq and I unblocked them to see what they were saying.
I used to be a scammer, I’m pretty sure it’s cause I got scammed once or twice. It was before I got some real friends, which now I realize you’ll get a lot more friends if you give stuff instead of take. I stopped scamming and just started gifting my friends and stuff and now I have a full list and my buds gift me all the time 😅
I was once scammed, of the rarest item in my inventory, blue double dragon wings. Looking back, that’s not a really rare item, but a few years ago, it was to me, considered how unrare I was. I ended up having to trade almost everything I had to get them. At the time, I thought spiked collars were the rarest item in the game. I saw a jammer advertising a giveaway for a spiked collar (it was yellow and purple, it wasn’t even a good color) and I went to the den. It was trust. I was suspicious, but not suspicious enough. There was another jammer, probably a spare or friend, saying they were trustworthy and it wasn’t a scam. So I traded them my wings, that I had just gotten, along with my only exotic pet, a Pygmy marmoset. Then, the wifi shut off, as that used to happen at about 9:00 pm so I would get off aj and go to bed. The next day, I jagged them (I was their buddy) and asked politely for my items back. They didn’t respond and left animal jam for almost a month. When they logged on, they jagged me asking for a wishlist item for my items back. I was disappointed, but desperate, and I tried to trade them one of their wishlist items, the pet model, for my items back. I really just wanted the wings back. But instead of going through with the trade, they left animal jam and haven’t logged in since. I cried over those wings. Eventually I was able to get them back along with a lot more, and now I know how to avoid scammers. But at the time, it hurt. I wish scammers never existed…
I’m gonna be 100 percent honest.. when I was 7 I used to scam. Now I realize I’ve done wrong, but it was never an item like forest luckily. I feel so bad but forgot the users 😢
I’ve been playing classic animal jam since I was 11 (2014) and I’ve been actively playing AJPW since 2016. Over time, through patience, I managed to acquire MANY objects that I consider rare, not necessarily labeled as rare but have value. My most beautiful pieces are the rare furry arm cuffs ( purple and orange) normal and rare galaxy wings, spiked necklaces, galaxy and sapphire objects, Sugarmoon9's Galactic Unicorn Tail and double dragon wings (red, purple and blue)… But the most beautiful piece of my collection is undoubtedly the crown rare flowers crown, purple and orange. It was the object I was looking for the most and I waited years before I managed to have it by chance. I have always made sure to acquire things honestly. I make very little exchange because I am not a fan. Most of the time I go through people’s shops looking at the items at the coral canyon. As an adult, I can afford to buy a membership and this greatly facilitates the acquisition of rare objects worth thousands of sapphires. I also have my small business or I sell objects through my shops, I even sell flooring masterpiece, masterpiece and masterblock that I create myself to make «pocket money» without having to pay real money for sapphires because I find that paying 44 dollars for 3000 sapphires is very unprofitable and too expensive for me. Luckily, I never got ripped off at the moment. However, I came across players in bad faith. It’s not uncommon for players to ask me to pass my unicorns, my spiked necklaces… And the worst is for my double dragon wings. Three players the same day including one who ordered me to give him, and in addition he had not even said hello ! But yesterday when I was playing with a friend of mine who was discovering the game. I came across a player who asked me in exchange, I accepted and she asked me if I gave my spiked necklace. I wore a black spiked necklace with pink-red and pastel pink spiks (I wear it in my current profile picture). I told her no and she hurried to tell me: why? I immediately found it strange, I’ve already come across other players of this kind but they accepted when I said no because he understood... but not her. She then asked me if I had any other spiked necklace. I said yes, but I added that I either keep them for myself or sell them. She then canceled the exchange and wished me a good evening. A few seconds later, another player asked me in exchange and said the same things as the previous player. He was also looking for spiked necklaces. Again I said no. He formed a duet with the other player and kept bothering the others. some time later, I noticed that I could no longer use the game’s keyboard to speak. And soon after, when it reactivated. I received a warning that I should be nice to other players and not scam them. I then realized that, dissatisfied with not having my objects, they had hastened to report me as a scammer. I immediately got angry and shouted to my friend how disgusting it was from them. I was angry and disgusted because in 9 years of playing, I never received a warning and I had never been blocked or reported before. It made me bitter, to see that I had been accused of scamming because I had not wanted to give my spiked necklaces. These players were clearly looking to scam and they must not have accepted the fact that I told them no. It was not the report itself that displeased me, but the context and the reason for the report itself. I always try to be kind to others and I have repeatedly warned young players that they should not trust so easily because that is what he was doing and if they would have come across a scammer that day-there, they would have been fooled. So yes, it made me angry to be reported for nothing. After that, I was able to block one of the two players, because he had asked me as a friend just before, unfortunately the other player evaporated into nature.
I got scammed once, and i kept their user. They came back, and i traded them asking them if they still had my item. They said they didnt know or remember what i was talking about. They havent been online for at least 3 years.
7:22 I used to do that, I would bully kids in my school usually 5 - 11 I would push little kids and make fun (not just make fun, straight up tormenting them)of older kids because I was slowly going mad because of neglect, trying to commit..you know what. I’m still as messed up. But I’m trying to become a better person, but my health is slowly deteriorating.
I scammed once, but I stopped cause it was wayy too stressful and it really wasnt fun tbh I felt super guilty after, (thank god it was only a rim) but I feel bad for scammers, as you said they need attention cause they don’t receive enough of it especially good attention, that part of me just cant be mad at them as sometimes its not their fault. But scamming is still bad but some people who scam do it have a bad home life.
this is the best video ive ever watched, it explains eveyrtihng so well ive scammed before but it was items thats not worth a lot but it was still bad, i did it because it was "fun" and made me feel happy, but afterwards i felt very guilty about what ive done and ive given back items to one of them (i couldnt message the others) I also don't scam anymore. Sometimes i have urges to do it again but i control myself
I've never played AJ but I do play another MMO called "Skyblock" on Hypixel's minecraft server which itself is full of scammers and hackers with a full irl trading economy and everything and I feel like the lessons, especially mental health, could apply there too, (though the demographic probably averages quite a few more years older) thanks for the insight I probably needed!
update: Well, the game finally drew me in and this video was the one that, by virtue of being the first AJ video recommended, got me interested in the game.
All I'll say is, two wrongs don't make a right. if your having issues with your life, don't scam people, get help, and the people who got scammed, don't go and harass the scammer that's also wrong. report the person, block if you feel like you need to, and make warnings and tell others to watch out. with of course proof of the scamming.
I agree. Just because something is going wrong with your life doesn’t mean you should go out and harm others of course. But if you’ve already reached that point, it’s best to recognize it, and address the root of the issue to prevent repeating it again 💜
I used to be a scammer, because someone else scammed me out of a valuable item that I liked and I was too gullible when I was younger, so I became one to satisfy myself and it was like an addiction, but I stopped right after because I realized it was wrong.

I get so mad whenever I see people bully other people for saying or doing something bad. I don’t care if the person has done horrible things, that still doesn’t make it right to say things like that. I never would've known my best friends today if i never tried to scam some random person in animal jam 7 years ago. Ofc scamming is still a very bad thing to do but like i got such a good thing out of it (i could never scam that person anyways XD) i used to scam people as a coping mechanism since there was so much going on in my life at the time so even though what i was doing was awful it was one of the best things thats ever happened to me because of the people i met that i still know today
i used to scam so much. literally every day. i woild keep the items, give some to my friends, give them away, or sell them. it made me soo happy :3 i was definitely addicted lol, i couldnt stop. i couldnt feel happy if i wasnt actively scamming

Here’s just a story that this (great) video reminded me of. When I was like 11, I agreed to start scamming with my “friend”. She bribed me into helping her when she said shed supposedly give me the better items and I had gotten hacked right before this, so I thought this would be a good way to regain some rarity. We scammed for a while, and I eventually (outside of scamming) traded back up to some decent items like Blackout Wings. Mind that we became best friends and trusted each other with our items and even accounts. However- After a while, my scammer buddy asked if she could try on my Blackout Wings and *stupid* me said “Ofc!” Yeah, I got scammed and she unbuddied me. What bothers me the most about her, is that one day I’m talking to friends and she joins our server and starts trying to guilt trip me, saying “I never wanted to scam” and “you started this”. My friends were confused and I explained the whole situation privately, so gladly they didn’t start thinking I was a bad, horrible person. I confronted and exposed my “friend” in front of the whole server and eventually she left. This was in 2018 and I remember it so vividly.
Lest be honest, we all thought about scam someone, I did, but I was so scared for loosing the account so I never did and bc I didnt know how to do it- So yeah I can say as a person who plays since 2018, I never scammed someone ;]

I got a Greely Cloak out of an alpha chest, same day someone tried to scam me with the oldest scam in the book. Scammer:"Give me your cloak and I'll give you 5k sapphires, i promise I'll give it back." Me:"i am adult i know a scam when i see one."
Back in the day in AJ classic I got a LP headdress I was really happy with it and I wanted to trade it for more thing that worth the same or more, but...I got scammed and lost it and other items and I quit the game since then, now Im trying to comne back but it doesnt feel the same not bc I got nothing lol, is just..different. Edit: Also that LP headdress I got was from a cousin and I felt even worst when I got scammed, at least I have ss of me with it and trade offers for it (some that I REGRET not accepting) lol
I used to be a scammer when I was like 11, going around scamming ppl. Then I was scammed of my toadstool gauntlets that I bought with my own saps for a wildworks beanie. It felt terrible, I was like if I feel like this, then others will also feel that when I scam them. After that I stopped scamming and became an actual civilized jammer. It been a few good yrs after that incident and my disgusting scamming.
im not gonna lie when i was like 12 someone scammed me frmo my favorite items, and after that i scammed a bunch of people with the mentality of if people wanna hurt me ill hurt them back, which was very toxic. i started re playing the game and ive been trying to give back to the community
As someone who had a rich history of scamming back in 2012-2016 (I was unfortunately infamous for it) harassment only made me do it more for an ego boost. The harassment would really upset me and when i started playing aj i had just moved to a new suburb where i knew no one that i could talk to, I would scam to make myself feel better. i was also awful to those i would scam, I would bully them and laugh at the fact they fell for a scam. I in fact have not even thought about scamming anyone since 2016 as my old account (I am not giving the user as I no longer want to be associated with scamming ever again) got banned. Getting banned is what actually made me realise what a terrible person I was at the time. I have grown so much as a person since then on aj and off aj. A lot of people surprisingly refer to me as one of the nicest people they have ever met and i will never take advantage of that. I might end up making a full story about it on my channel eventually but if you are currently a scammer, there are so many other ways to get rare if you don't have the time or patience to trade for items. A big way to do it is to enter in to giveaways! Personally I restarted over on a fresh account a year ago where i got rare off of art/masterpiece commissions.

I went on hiatus yeah, the original intention was to quit but I realized pretty quickly that I made the decision to fast and went back on my word. I never took my videos down, so I’m confused as to what you mean by reupload. If you’re talking about my streams, they were private for awhile so I could remove a clip from a stream where a friend accidentally revealed personal info. Since all my streams have the same title- I had to figure which one it was manually 😅 I removed the quitting video because- well. I didn’t quit 😭

Personally, I can’t see animal jam scammers the same way as telemarketers, because one is getting virtual accessories out of people, and the other is getting real money. I understand that it’s difficult to get a job, but making a living from leeching off other people and even losing them a significant amount of money is not something I can sympathize with. Especially considering the people who fall for these kinds of phone scams are either desperate or naive. They could even be financially struggling themselves.
Not only that… Y’all also forgetting how people do a lot of inappropriate things in this game that are 18+ as it’s kinda the same situation with scamming, except this can destroy mental health on both sides of the screen… I… got groomed by a 18+ year old women once on animal jam… I really don’t wanna talk about it as I’m trying to forget that it all happened… ): Don’t worry I’m good now though :)
At one point, a scammer scammed one of my friends, they took their ice dragon wings and sedge hat. I felt so bad, my friend was really sad. So when they found the scammer, I made a plan to scam the items back. But I was too nice for that and realized it was a bad idea, to be fair, I lightly undertraded, but I lost an item I really liked and spent a whole lot of sapphires getting it back. I got my friend the items back, and gave the items to them- I’m not going to mention the full story, but I had a falling out with that friend and we aren’t friends anymore, I don’t feel all that bad about losing that item for them. I still helped someone I suppose.

As someone who used to be a scammer, i was told multiple times to kill myself, and got a dox threat, while scamming is NOT ok, that dosent mean you get to harrass those people that extent.

Yeah. Young children probably don't realize how bad it could be yet, or perhaps are just impressionable, seeing other players scam and so they decided to do it. They should still be held accountable for it of course, because they probably still know it's hurting people's feelings, but they're young and have a chance to change and grow.
Teenagers and older, that's where I lose any support for them. If they do manage to improve as a person and become better, I'll be proud of them, and I'll forgive them (as long as they give everyone's items back!) but oftentimes these people are a lost cause
What's bad about kids scamming, is that they're doing a bad thing that they might not even learn is the wrong thing to do. We can only hope that they'll learn it isn't okay before becoming a teen and adult.
But the good news is that they'll likely learn if they're a kid.
I remember being accused of being a scammer once in a giveaway because I wasn’t moving enough. I remember all the death threats I got on my fandom wall and having alts coming to my den with my username and different numbers just sending angry faces. It haunted me for days and i even apologised even though it wasn’t even my doing. Make awareness posts but sending harassment towards others is horrible especially when they get wrongly accused

When i was like 13-14 i would send hate to scammers who made videos about their scams and whatnot and act like i was *way* more morally right than them when i was literally out there making an 'item generator site' in secret at that very moment, grabbing people's accounts.I was such a hypocrite and thought 'nah its fine when i do it, it's different!'. I guess some of it was projecton to a degree, like i knew what i did was wrong and i took it out on other people who did the same. Karma hit me real quick after i did that tho, as i got hacked not even a week later after making that site lol.
Now that im older ive realized alot of what you said in the video: that it's last resorts to make a living or unhealthy coping mechanisms, etc. i was definitely *not* in a good mindset back then when i did it, and i struggled *alot* with my mental health.
It's nice to see people in this community talk about this in a mature way, and discuss it in this manner now. it's not as black and white/ good and evil as i saw it as when i was a kid. It's still horrible, yeah, but it's a way more gray area, and there's alot more to it than what meets the eye. This is a really important video and i'm glad someone out there's talking about it!

Jammers mostly become scammers by they want blackout spike sm or rares, but its mostly noticed if theyre gonna scam you by pressuring you or hurring you up because they cannot wait for the rare to go to them. There are also patient scammers, they will just wait for you to get comfortable, i actually got scammed by that tatic and i recovered from that ( my RARE default glider got scammed>:[)

This video couldn’t have relayed the behavior of scammers & hackers any better. As often as it may occur, there is always a trigger to poor decision-making. Whether that would be for survival purposes or simply because the scammer/hacker is numb/void of any emotions. I haven’t played animal jam in years as I’m 18 and an online game thays honestly similar is fallout 76 believe it or not, sounds funny but you can build your camp just like you can build your camp, there is trading just like AJ, there are scammers and levels of rarity in items. I have very very rare items in fallout76, and it reminded me of the days of me playing animal jam. I’ve never ever scammed but met some but I never go scammed as I always kept my den locked. My whole den was full of beta and rare plushies and every variant anyone can think off. I haven’t played since AJ refuses to give me my account back, but it was fun, but I remember feeling how scared of being hacked or scam especially how young I was. I don’t remember any jammers doing this ever, idk if it’s different now but I’m fallout 76, people will shower newer players with rare items or starter packs, the community is really sweet, I can never say that for AJ.just like AJ, there are shops too either gems or caps (that’s the currency in fallout76, it’s the most well known economy in every fallout game). I remember Fman was a well known scammer and hacker, the memeorys….

Thank you so much for making this video! I think you provided an incredibly important perspective that can apply to both AJPW and AJC (though unfortunately AJHQ isn't quite as responsive with AJC). I really appreciate that you go through motives and solutions, rather than just listing reasons scammers are awful. I actually had a friend on Classic who was harassed CONSTANTLY for scamming, even though she didn't and there WASN'T evidence. She was personally attacked enough that she felt unsafe logging on and abandoned her account, starting from scratch completely on a new account.
honestly, when i was younger i was tired of being "unrare" i wanted everything... forest guantlets, double tail, blackout wings, raccoon tail, dizzy stars ECT. ive considered scamming when i was younger, i wanted all the "cool jammer" stuff, thankfully, i never scammed. now, i solely play AJPW for the nostalgia ect, which my account isnt "rare" rarest thing i have is just rainbow spike, thats it. i think when you scam when your younger its still bad but kids are kids and kids are idiots. i think the topic of scamming/hacking is honestly interesting, cause there is so many sides on why people do it, like it, ECT.

When I was ten and I first played animal jam I was poor and I had no friends.. people didn’t bully me luckily and there was less scammers when I play in 2022.. I met this person who needed a buddy so I buddied them. :) they were happy to have a new friend so they gifted me a pet bee since I was new it’s name was wispywisp and it had lashes, the colors were pink and blue. I loved my bee soo much that I was gonna keep it safe! Until one day I went to the formal thing party and my buddy was offline.. I was dancing and having fun! Soon a fox traded me and said “hi” and i reply “hello is there anything you need?” and then they said “I will give u 2000 saps for your bee.” I was screaming OMG but I loved my bee at the same time I had none saps.. but then I thought of an idea I can buy another bee and make is the same look and name :d so I said how will I get the saps? They said to me trade it to me and I will give u 2000 saps sooo I did.. people we singing so I lost the user In the chat. I cried so much that I wanted to get my revenge back! I started scamming for my bee but I never found my bee.. after a month of scamming and seeing the reactions I realized I hurt someone’s feelings and my mom told me treat others the way u want to be treated.. I didn’t want my feelings hurt so I gave back the items and said I was sorry.. I told them the story.. they understood why I was like this and I how I felt.. I just miss my bee and I’m sorry if I scammed u guys :c but my actions changed because I realized it was a bag thing to do. Today I still looking for me bee though!

I got scammed, i gave someone my pass cuz they said they'd give me saps, and they DID get me sapphires, and i hadn't gotten my password reset, so i didn't think to change it. And then a while later i got a double tail.. and then i HAD gotten my password reset. This was a long time ago, i'm fine now.

The other day on animal jam classic a seal tried scamming me and steal my rares saying they are ajhq and someone warned me that the seal was a scammer and I reported the seal and blocked them and they were still trying to get me to believe they were ajhq and I unblocked them to see what they were saying.

It was before I got some real friends, which now I realize you’ll get a lot more friends if you give stuff instead of take. I was once scammed, of the rarest item in my inventory, blue double dragon wings. Looking back, that’s not a really rare item, but a few years ago, it was to me, considered how unrare I was. I ended up having to trade almost everything I had to get them. At the time, I thought spiked collars were the rarest item in the game. I saw a jammer advertising a giveaway for a spiked collar (it was yellow and purple, it wasn’t even a good color) and I went to the den. It was trust. I was suspicious, but not suspicious enough. There was another jammer, probably a spare or friend, saying they were trustworthy and it wasn’t a scam. So I traded them my wings, that I had just gotten, along with my only exotic pet, a Pygmy marmoset. Then, the wifi shut off, as that used to happen at about 9:00 pm so I would get off aj and go to bed. The next day, I jagged them (I was their buddy) and asked politely for my items back. They didn’t respond and left animal jam for almost a month. When they logged on, they jagged me asking for a wishlist item for my items back. I was disappointed, but desperate, and I tried to trade them one of their wishlist items, the pet model, for my items back. I really just wanted the wings back. But instead of going through with the trade, they left animal jam and haven’t logged in since. I cried over those wings. Eventually I was able to get them back along with a lot more, and now I know how to avoid scammers. But at the time, it hurt. I wish scammers never existed…
I’m gonna be 100 percent honest.. when I was 7 I used to scam. Now I realize I’ve done wrong, but it was never an item like forest luckily. I feel so bad but forgot the users 😢
I’ve been playing classic animal jam since I was 11 (2014) and I’ve been actively playing AJPW since 2016. Over time, through patience, I managed to acquire MANY objects that I consider rare, not necessarily labeled as rare but have value. My most beautiful pieces are the rare furry arm cuffs ( purple and orange) normal and rare galaxy wings, spiked necklaces, galaxy and sapphire objects, Sugarmoon9's Galactic Unicorn Tail and double dragon wings (red, purple and blue)…
But the most beautiful piece of my collection is undoubtedly the crown rare flowers crown, purple and orange. It was the object I was looking for the most and I waited years before I managed to have it by chance. I have always made sure to acquire things honestly. I make very little exchange because I am not a fan. Most of the time I go through people’s shops looking at the items at the coral canyon.
As an adult, I can afford to buy a membership and this greatly facilitates the acquisition of rare objects worth thousands of sapphires.
I also have my small business or I sell objects through my shops, I even sell flooring masterpiece, masterpiece and masterblock that I create myself to make «pocket money» without having to pay real money for sapphires because I find that paying 44 dollars for 3000 sapphires is very unprofitable and too expensive for me.
Luckily, I never got ripped off at the moment. However, I came across players in bad faith. It’s not uncommon for players to ask me to pass my unicorns, my spiked necklaces… And the worst is for my double dragon wings. Three players the same day including one who ordered me to give him, and in addition he had not even said hello !
But yesterday when I was playing with a friend of mine who was discovering the game. I came across a player who asked me in exchange, I accepted and she asked me if I gave my spiked necklace. I wore a black spiked necklace with pink-red and pastel pink spiks (I wear it in my current profile picture).
I told her no and she hurried to tell me: why?
I immediately found it strange, I’ve already come across other players of this kind but they accepted when I said no because he understood... but not her.
She then asked me if I had any other spiked necklace.
I said yes, but I added that I either keep them for myself or sell them.
She then canceled the exchange and wished me a good evening. A few seconds later, another player asked me in exchange and said the same things as the previous player. He was also looking for spiked necklaces. Again I said no. He formed a duet with the other player and kept bothering the others.
some time later, I noticed that I could no longer use the game’s keyboard to speak. And soon after, when it reactivated. I received a warning that I should be nice to other players and not scam them. I then realized that, dissatisfied with not having my objects, they had hastened to report me as a scammer. I immediately got angry and shouted to my friend how disgusting it was from them.
I was angry and disgusted because in 9 years of playing, I never received a warning and I had never been blocked or reported before. It made me bitter, to see that I had been accused of scamming because I had not wanted to give my spiked necklaces. These players were clearly looking to scam and they must not have accepted the fact that I told them no.
It was not the report itself that displeased me, but the context and the reason for the report itself. I always try to be kind to others and I have repeatedly warned young players that they should not trust so easily because that is what he was doing and if they would have come across a scammer that day-there, they would have been fooled.
So yes, it made me angry to be reported for nothing. After that, I was able to block one of the two players, because he had asked me as a friend just before, unfortunately the other player evaporated into nature.

I got scammed once, and i kept their user. They came back, and i traded them asking them if they still had my item. They said they didnt know or remember what i was talking about.

7:22 I used to do that, I would bully kids in my school usually 5 - 11 I would push little kids and make fun (not just make fun, straight up tormenting them)of older kids because I was slowly going mad because of neglect, trying to commit..you know what. I’m still as messed up. But I’m trying to become a better person, but my health is slowly deteriorating.

I've never played AJ but I do play another MMO called "Skyblock" on Hypixel's minecraft server which itself is full of scammers and hackers with a full irl trading economy and everything and I feel like the lessons, especially mental health, could apply there too, (though the demographic probably averages quite a few more years older)

All I'll say is, two wrongs don't make a right. if your having issues with your life, don't scam people, get help, and the people who got scammed, don't go and harass the scammer that's also wrong. report the person, block if you feel like you need to, and make warnings and tell others to watch out. with of course proof of the scamming.

I never would've known my best friends today if i never tried to scam some random person in animal jam 7 years ago. Ofc scamming is still a very bad thing to do but like i got such a good thing out of it (i could never scam that person anyways XD) i used to scam people as a coping mechanism since there was so much going on in my life at the time so even though what i was doing was awful it was one of the best things thats ever happened to me because of the people i met that i still know today

I use to be a scammer, really bad one and at first I swore to never do it until people kept doing it to me and somehow I thought it would be right to do it back to people in the community, which isn’t right at all. After that it just became more of an addiction something that that gave me a satisfaction and it was truly looking back at it years later an awful mindset
Here’s just a story that this (great) video reminded me of.
When I was like 11, I agreed to start scamming with my “friend”. She bribed me into helping her when she said shed supposedly give me the better items and I had gotten hacked right before this, so I thought this would be a good way to regain some rarity.
We scammed for a while, and I eventually (outside of scamming) traded back up to some decent items like Blackout Wings.
Mind that we became best friends and trusted each other with our items and even accounts.
However- After a while, my scammer buddy asked if she could try on my Blackout Wings and *stupid* me said “Ofc!”
Yeah, I got scammed and she unbuddied me.
What bothers me the most about her, is that one day I’m talking to friends and she joins our server and starts trying to guilt trip me, saying “I never wanted to scam” and “you started this”. My friends were confused and I explained the whole situation privately, so gladly they didn’t start thinking I was a bad, horrible person.
I confronted and exposed my “friend” in front of the whole server and eventually she left.
This was in 2018 and I remember it so vividly.
Lest be honest, we all thought about scam someone, I did, but I was so scared for loosing the account so I never did and bc I didnt know how to do it-
So yeah I can say as a person who plays since 2018, I never scammed someone ;]

Back in the day in AJ classic I got a LP headdress I was really happy with it and I wanted to trade it for more thing that worth the same or more, but...I got scammed and lost it and other items and I quit the game since then, now Im trying to comne back but it doesnt feel the same not bc I got nothing lol, is just..different.
Edit: Also that LP headdress I got was from a cousin and I felt even worst when I got scammed, at least I have ss of me with it and trade offers for it (some that I REGRET not accepting) lol
I used to be a scammer when I was like 11, going around scamming ppl. Then I was scammed of my toadstool gauntlets that I bought with my own saps for a wildworks beanie. It felt terrible, I was like if I feel like this, then others will also feel that when I scam them. After that I stopped scamming and became an actual civilized jammer. It been a few good yrs after that incident and my disgusting scamming.

im not gonna lie when i was like 12 someone scammed me frmo my favorite items, and after that i scammed a bunch of people with the mentality of if people wanna hurt me ill hurt them back, which was very toxic. i started re playing the game and ive been trying to give back to the community
As someone who has experienced the three sins of animal jam… (Getting scammed, getting hacked, and getting groomed) i see this as an absolute loss…
As someone who had a rich history of scamming back in 2012-2016 (I was unfortunately infamous for it) harassment only made me do it more for an ego boost. The harassment would really upset me and when i started playing aj i had just moved to a new suburb where i knew no one that i could talk to, I would scam to make myself feel better. i was also awful to those i would scam, I would bully them and laugh at the fact they fell for a scam. I in fact have not even thought about scamming anyone since 2016 as my old account (I am not giving the user as I no longer want to be associated with scamming ever again) got banned.
Getting banned is what actually made me realise what a terrible person I was at the time. I have grown so much as a person since then on aj and off aj. A lot of people surprisingly refer to me as one of the nicest people they have ever met and i will never take advantage of that.
I might end up making a full story about it on my channel eventually but if you are currently a scammer, there are so many other ways to get rare if you don't have the time or patience to trade for items. A big way to do it is to enter in to giveaways! Personally I restarted over on a fresh account a year ago where i got rare off of art/masterpiece commissions.

I honestly don’t hate scammers cuz I usually give stuff for free sometimes so a scam doesn’t bother me unless it’s a item I adore

I personally am not comfortable with the concept but like, if I was friends with someone and I found out they were selling, it wouldn’t really change my opinion of them. It’s a part of the community I won’t be involved in, but hey, as long as you aren’t scamming, get that bag I suppose! 💜
Oddly enough ive never really scammed, when i was little i lost my shadow gauntlets to a dumb scam, so i tried the same scam but when everyone was in my den i chickened out and closed the game. Later when I quit from that account I did a give away to gift some lucky jammer my double tail :)
Getting my fav items is hard . I tried selling my silly masterpieces (Totaly not high quality) and i dont have the saps to . I dont had the times when i wanted to scam , and i did not in anyway .
I was a scammer once I was against scaming before that but i stopped caring because how rude the community is, i kept getting scammed and i was sick of it. I realised how bad it is now and i stopped
I have been scammed before, kind of groomed if it wasn’t romantic I suppose, we built up a friendship then she scammed my nocturnal moth items. It has been 4+ years since them and Yk what I mean maybe I’m still salty, hehe-
Oh and- uh- a jammer by the user tb5518 friended me and keeps asking me for free stuff, and I’m a member. I don’t know if he is using me because he thinks I’m rich (with my 23 sapphire account lol) or if I’m just taking this wrong-

I once got flash traded and I saw they traded a rare glider for my rare gecko so they kept just flash trading me then they took the glider off trd and put a rare patched tie for trd and I got scammed I HAVE LIKE A MILLION OF THOSE TIES
Sorry for commenting late but People get poor, Start wanting items, starting hacking and scamming, its normally little children, And when they get older, they turn back and realize it isnt good, So i see people try too better, And i respect that. I went on hiatus yeah, the original intention was to quit but I realized pretty quickly that I made the decision to fast and went back on my word.
I never took my videos down, so I’m confused as to what you mean by reupload. If you’re talking about my streams, they were private for awhile so I could remove a clip from a stream where a friend accidentally revealed personal info. Since all my streams have the same title- I had to figure which one it was manually 😅
I removed the quitting video because- well. I didn’t quit 😭

Can you make your own captions on your videos? I don’t like having sound up, so I usually watch things with words of what it says. But I love your channel too much to not, could you please make your own? The captions you turn on are too fast, and sometimes wrong.
I’m really sorry but I probably won’t. A video already takes me a long time to make and by the time I’ve finished it, I’ve been editing for hours straight and I’m very burned out, going back through a 20 minute video to manually add captions would most likely take another hour minimum.

Personally, I can’t see animal jam scammers the same way as telemarketers, because one is getting virtual accessories out of people, and the other is getting real money. I understand that it’s difficult to get a job, but making a living from leeching off other people and even losing them a significant amount of money is not something I can sympathize with. Especially considering the people who fall for these kinds of phone scams are either desperate or naive. They could even be financially struggling themselves.
