The reason why on the first one they didnt give you any crystals is because you probably didnt wait for the "loading" on the bottom right to finish loading or go away O(∩_∩)O. {so you were basically wasting time just clicking it manually when you can just wait for the loading to go away(takes like 5 seconds depending on your internet) and then skip(❁´◡`❁)} Oh, and, for another tip.. i recomend trying to open everyones challege shows and playing with them everyday. Dont just use the same person for the challenge shows since itll only give you 50 crystal unless you reach a specific score the game needs. Although it takes time and is hard to do, itll become your savior when you need crystals. another one is playing hard, expert, and master and fc'ing them and getting rank S. No need for AP since FC and AP gives the same rewards.
You can also gain crystals through reading/skipping card stories, the monthly show missions, ranking in events, losing or winning team in cheerful events, attending event aftershows, ranking in ranked matches, and watching the dia giving advertisements
0:08 you likely didnt wait for the loading thing, as someone said, but you DID get the crystals. you just have to get more gems and then it’ll give you both 1:11 additional info: you get 300 after one week of logging in, plus 120 for doing your challenge show daily (you can choose the 100 gems for the 7th day on the challenge show to bump that up to 220) for 420 gems. after 3rd anni, it’s 350 per week, leading to at least 470 gems a week. this is great for late stage players 1:16 you get a max of 300 gems per song (50 + 70 + 70, or hard + ex + mas rewards, and then 10 + 20 + 30 + 50. this adds up to 300 gems) 1:45 for those curious, you get 300 for cheerful carnival events and 500 for marathon events. cheerful carnival always happens alongside a lim, however not all lims have a cheerful carnival lately due to bugs on jpsekai. this means you get 1300 gems per month from buying those one more thing to do: “read” as many side stories as you can. part 1 gives 25 gems, part 2 gives 50. 1 stars are the cheapest, so level those first, then 2 stars, and so on
make sure you level your master rank and skill rank to 5 for all 1* and 2*. They only cost 25 memory fragment for each rank up. This will unlock achievements for each character and will give you insane amount of crystals
and you don't get crystals for fc'ing songs on append (only on hard, expert, and master (expert and master give you 20 crystals if your maximum combo was more than 3/4 of the total notes in the chart), where they give 50 crystals for the first time you fc a song)
1:23 Just to note, the combo giving crystals thingy depends on the difficulty! If it's a Hard level, then you'll have to do a full combo in order to get any crystals from it. If it's an Expert level, the top two highest combo counts will give crystals. Now I'm not sure about Master since I've never really fcd one, but I'm guessing either it's the same as Expert or the top 3 highest combo counts will give you crystals.

with area convos, i js skip them and it gave me the ten. also, u maxed out on convos i dont get them anymore.
Try reading the stories that come with events! If you do the more convos will pop up
