I'm 64 and right there with you. I hope we aren't too far down the road to totalitarian control but I'm not too sure. The powerful in both parties want us to eat bugs, live in play houses, and drive go carts. As they claim the monopoly laws in our state constitution do not apply to them because they are a government agency. The Constitution was written to protect us from the government but they don't seem to understand that or even care.

Yes, he said it. Two weeks ago Oliver was in the woods unknown, then this, 28M views on CZcams in 11 days and growing over 2M a day. The lyrics touch us because we know it's truth. The guitar touches us because it harkens back to a simpler time. His voice touches us because it has passion and a cry in his powerful voice that we feel in our hearts. He is touching the heart of the world wherever an incompetent corrupt conflict/division creating government and greedy corporations abuse and steal from the people. That's everywhere today. Lord, it's a damn shame.
After recently turning down $8M contract, that probably would have silenced him, he just gave a free concert this weekend on the Outer Banks of North Carolina. He entered the outdoor venue walking through the 5-7K crowd to the stage with such a humble attitude. He starts with reading from the Bible and the crowd loved it. Then he stayed after for hours signing and listening to people's stories. He's the real deal.

It's been difficult as I browse through the 50,000+ messages and emails I've received in the last week. The stories that have been shared paint a brutally honest picture. Suicide, addiction, unemployment, anxiety and depression, hopelessness and the list goes on.
Im sitting in such a weird place in my life right now. I never wanted to be a full time musician, much less sit at the top of the iTunes charts. Draven from RadioWv and I filmed these tunes on my land with the hope that it may hit 300k views. I still don't quite believe what has went on since we uploaded that. It's just strange to me.
People in the music industry give me blank stares when I brush off 8 million dollar offers. I don't want 6 tour buses, 15 tractor trailers and a jet. I don't want to play stadium shows, I don't want to be in the spotlight. I wrote the music I wrote because I was suffering with mental health and depression. These songs have connected with millions of people on such a deep level because they're being sung by someone feeling the words in the very moment they were being sung. No editing, no agent, no bullshit. Just some idiot and his guitar. The style of music that we should have never gotten away from in the first place.
So that being said, I have never taken the time to tell you who I actually am. Here's a formal introduction:
My legal name is Christopher Anthony Lunsford. My grandfather was Oliver Anthony, and "Oliver Anthony Music" is a dedication not only to him, but 1930's Appalachia where he was born and raised. Dirt floors, seven kids, hard times. At this point, I'll gladly go by Oliver because everyone knows me as such. But my friends and family still call me Chris. You can decide for yourself, either is fine.
In 2010, I dropped out of high school at age 17. I have a GED from Spruce Pine, NC. I worked multiple plant jobs in Western NC, my last being at the paper mill in McDowell county. I worked 3rd shift, 6 days a week for $14.50 an hour in a living hell. In 2013, I had a bad fall at work and fractured my skull. It forced me to move back home to Virginia. Due to complications from the injury, it took me 6 months or so before I could work again.
From 2014 until just a few days ago, I've worked outside sales in the industrial manufacturing world. My job has taken me all over Virginia and into the Carolinas, getting to know tens of thousands of other blue collar workers on job sites and in factories. Ive spent all day, everyday, for the last 10 years hearing the same story. People are SO damn tired of being neglected, divided and manipulated.
In 2019, I paid $97,500 for the property and still owe about $60,000 on it. I am living in a 27' camper with a tarp on the roof that I got off of craigslist for $750.
There's nothing special about me. I'm not a good musician, I'm not a very good person. I've spent the last 5 years struggling with mental health and using alcohol to drown it. I am sad to see the world in the state it's in, with everyone fighting with each other. I have spent many nights feeling hopeless, that the greatest country on Earth is quickly fading away.
That being said, I HATE the way the Internet has divided all of us. The Internet is a parasite, that infects the minds of humans and has their way with them. Hours wasted, goals forgotten, loved ones sitting in houses with each other distracted all day by technology made by the hands of other poor souls in sweat shops in a foreign land.
When is enough, enough? When are we going to fight for what is right again? MILLIONS have died protecting the liberties we have. Freedom of speech is such a precious gift. Never in world history has the world had the freedom it currently does. Don't let them take it away from you.
Just like those once wandering in the desert, we have lost our way from God and have let false idols distract us and divide us. It's a damn shame.

This is the first video of yours that I've watched and I enjoyed your reaction. The rich men north of Richmond are the politicians in Washington, D.C. and this is the anthem for everyone who is fed up with the corrupt federal government oppressing and harming the people they are supposed to represent. The world has seen an awakening of sorts post-pandemic after 3 years of government abuse, lies, and propaganda. We've watched the elites impose rules and policies that are quite cruel and impossible to maintain any type of life worth living while they aren't required to live under their own rules and continue to get richer and richer the longer they are there while we bust our asses and sweat over every single cent we spend on food, medicine, gas, and rent/mortgage bills. I cry in frustration every week as I have to ration my food and medicine because I can no longer keep up with inflation since my husband died. We can barely afford to really live in a country that is falling apart around us, our border is wide open for everyone and anyone to enter no matter what their intentions are. The Biden admin does not care what this is doing to the Americans who live in border states until they show up in Martha's Vineyard or Chicago and even then he does nothing. Democrats betray their own citizens including veterans to give money and housing to people who broke the law and are being paid for by the already overburdened taxpayers who can't afford what the illegal immigrants have. This is theft and it is unfair to law-abiding Americans and immigrants who immigrated the legal way. To add insult to injury, the Biden admin created the financial crisis by shutting down American energy and put miners out of work, but they don't care. They do care more about the minors on that island. We struggle while the government sends billions upon billions to Ukraine but only offer $700 to Hawaiians affected by the fire. We can't do better than that for our fellow Americans but our tax dollars have been paying Ukrainian pensioners. This is what America Last looks and feels like. Our government should care more about our interests and well-being instead of other countries. They should be required to live under the same laws they impose upon us. They ban gas stoves for everyone else while they continue to use them. They laugh at Americans who can't afford gas and tell them to get EVs that they can't afford. They are willing to sacrifice our financial outlook as well as saddle future generations of Americans with heavy debt for many years to come. It doesn't matter what your race is, wrong is always wrong no matter who it is being done to. I've seen people, mostly the Left, making fun of Oliver Anthony because he lives in a trailer with a tent over it in Virginia. That man is a fellow American who is struggling hard with addiction and has the guts to put himself out there for the world to see and has more soul and integrity than Joe Biden, Mitch McConnell, Nancy Pelosi, and AOC than they will ever have. I have been watching so many of these reaction videos because seeing so many different people from all different backgrounds ages etc feeling this song it gives me hope that I really need I’m a disabled widow with 5 children and I’m going through something and I have been so scared for the future for our children and hoping that we can unite and stop allowing the elite divide us! I live in a rural town [surrounded by popcorn, soybean fields] and I’m a big country music lover, always have been. I’ve never heard anything so meaningful, anything so powerful or anyone pour their heart and soul out like this man. This video is a blue collar worker (no video production/editing) who shows his real, raw emotions and he’s fed up. He’s done with the bullshit that we all see but no one has the balls to say. He’s dealt with a lot of mental issues in the past and still has to deal with so much pain. Turning down $8M in offers from record labels. He is spittin facts and THIS… THIS is “woke” talk, an actual great awakening. He opens his small town performances (went from singing in front of 20 people to literally thousands) with verses from the Bible and everyone is listening. He’s the exact light that this dark world needs and holds a glimmer of hope. I pray that this changes us in a positive way and let’s us ALL come together as one. Jamey Johnson came to hear him sing at a farmers market near his hometown and got on stage and sang a verse or two of his famous song, You should've seen it in color. This guy is speaking for the world today. I totally resonated with this one and you should listen to all the others he's posted to his channel! They're all equally as good and one or two also knocked my socks off.
